Oh my god! What type of friggin company is this? as long as you have the minimum speed required there shouldn't be an issue.
They need to provide a better service, better net code, dedicated servers ect.
I have never heard of a developer doing this, I'm truly disappointed and amazed with this decision.
Jesus Christ look at titanfall that was one of the best online experiences I've had.
There are so many things that can affect connections right down to corroded phone sockets or old cables inside the walls of an old house, countries which are not as advanced as the US or Europe's infrastructure, I don't think it's even been a decade when the UK started to get high speed broadband The list is huge.
Bungie and Activision marketed this product globally probably out of greed to countries who probably don't have the best of online infrastructures, they took their money and now they are going to ban them, I've spoken and played with some of these people and they love this game, how is this fair???
People that have already been banned have no idea why or for how long or even been given any information on how to correct the problem, that is extremely unfair, unorganised and unprofessional.
What's an average young person supposed to do? Even adults struggle with creating a good online environment.
You're the company with our money so sort it out your end first and give us the best possible service you can.
We all know you haven't done this.
I've played a lot of online games and this is by far the worst PVP experience I've had, and I've played with good and bad connections in the past.
Well I'm just gob smacked that this is actually going to happen.
As I've had a lot of replies saying I won't be banned, I just want to add that this post isn't about me, I know I won't be banned my service is fine, this is for people who are less fortunate than us but still love to play destiny.
This is just not fair and coming from a developer that says it cares for its community, pathetic and short sighted.
Link to a poll I hope.

If you have the minimum speed but still use wifi and a firewall your connection wont be consistent all the time. It's not about speed but rather quality.

7 RepliesBungie should be proud of its trolls and idiots. Latency and ping are the red bar cause along with new updates that are causing players whose internet connection and speed are fine. How matchmaking decides to connect you in PVP, fie team host server and p2p interaction and how you game connection gets routed can take people with high speed and good connection from many games green to next matchers red. Bungie needs a warning system, cool off and test method until they decide all are players are worth dedicated servers. Don't worry the narcissistic get good, buy better internet spoiled me, me me post are not worth replying to. You can't fix stupid.
-
Since those with cash and access are happy with p2p for pvp, how about bungee buying dedicated servers for all red bar, sound as fair as what the trolls purpose. lol
-
3 RepliesI don't think they should ban them, but laggers in PVP are beyond annoying because you actually have an advantage with bad internet. They literally teleport and won't die if they're on a red bar. Something definitely needs to be done. Banning seems harsh
-
Everyone I have come across with a red bar is invincible. They need to do something about it. Won't be fair in Trials, or even Iron Banner.
-
2 RepliesThere are red bar players that dies like green bar players, with few shots, also there are players with green bar that refuse to die even feom rockets... What is the problem here??? Bad net code, bad shot register, packet loss from bungie main server.....

3 RepliesNotice how Deej and Cosmo never respond with any useful or truthful information to posts like this. They always respond to fluff posts from fanboys. They Never respond in any useful form to posts critical of their business practices or their fraud based criminal enterprise aka Destiny. They'll defraud players of their money with a game they knew was critically flawed before it was released. They knew full well that the P2P system was a flawed one, open to player manipulation. But rather than doing the right thing, the smarter thing, namely putting dedicated servers in. They stuck with P2P and now players who have an average connection are locked out of the game they purchased. This entire game is nothing but an organized criminal enterprise.

Thank god they are doing this.

Jesus Christ look at titanfall that was one of the best online experiences I've had.
And now I think you have absolutely no credibility with your opinion or perspective whatsoever. Did not even bother finishing this rant...

9 RepliesThank god they are finally taking action. There's no reason I should suffer from your crappy connection. I pay good money for my internet and if your that cheap to not have it or move somewhere where you can get it than you should prolly be working instead of playing video games so you can get it. Forgive me, I don't mean to tell you how to live but seriously, it's 2015 and if don't have high speed internet capable of playing video games without lag, idk how you got the console to behind with.
-
3 RepliesWhat about the 15 other players, payers, who suffer an almost noon playable game because of lag. It sucks for those with crap internet, but why bring everyone down with you.

Edited by gallp13: 10/22/2015 10:14:38 AMLet's all take a deep breath ...... You can play Destiny with low cost Internet from quality ISP. Let's not be dramatic and tut tut let's get this fixed . Good setup can be a bit complication so if you don't want to read all the setup guff on Bungie.net here's three simple steps to fix most issues and avoid a ban; 1. Ensure your ISP doesn't shape 2. Hard line - don't wifi 3. Play when others are not streaming Fixed
-
Maybe the reason people pay for bad Internet is so they can afford "luxuries" like all of destinys DLC lmao " here, buy our game with the last bit of your money. Now get off because you used that spare cash on our DLC and not your Internet for a month" XD way to rob people bungie. This isn't my personal situation, but I've seen people talking about that through the feed.
-
6 RepliesGet out of the boondocks and get better internet tired of immortal red bar trash
-
4 RepliesThe next step is : Bungie suing ISPs for bad speeds that deteriorate the gamer experience of their games, and in general compromise the sales of Bungie products.
-
1 ReplyPersonally I'm sick of people glitch and lagging all over the show but shit tons of bullets into them and they'll shoot you through a wall
-
18 RepliesI think 10 megabytes per second download should be mandatory to play online and if you can't afford better then that you shouldn't be playing games online anyway
-
Get better internet, get a job quit mooching that simple lazy @ss or simply have awful provider get over yourself
-
Amen, Bungie cmon guys
-
I live out in the middle of nowhere, The only time i can play crucible without 'everyone having invisibility lag' and 5 minutes later bird, is at 1 a clock. And for me having a bad internet you want to ban me? Just no. Please no. (Look at cod)

Stop surfing p0rn

Somebody better tell Sir Lancelot... http://youtu.be/eqgzjAELXw4 :D

1 ReplyThey could just pair bad connection with bad connection and let them have a lag fest together. Someone running a crap connection ruins the experience for other players.
-
The game should advise people with bad connections not to enter PVP events. It ruins the game for everybody else
-
There is a thing called lag switching. People will purposely give themselves a bad connection which basically makes them invincible since you have to guess where they are. Because of that I will report anyone (especially in trials) who goes from a normal good connection, to a terrible connection. The best is when a trials game goes from all green bars to the other team having a red bar the moment we are up 3-0.
-
People who play crucible with bad internet connection shouldn't be pared together with people who have good connection. Simple as that. If your upload is way too low you should be on a server with others who have bad connection. Everybody would be happy
