Tough question to answer... I would say a large portion of the player base of Destiny, or any shooter really, are children that play these games because they think this is what "cool" is. My 12 year old nephew plays Destiny, which is fine, but I asked him why he's playing it and his answer was because everyone else is. It's the same thing with CoD for example. That being said the average age of gamers is like 32 or something like that, so there is a huge portion of the gamer population that is in their late 30's and older. These people grew up on what is now gamer culture, but to us it was just what we kids did. Are you to old for destiny? No probably not, play whatever you want and have fun playing. Are you the primary demographic for Destiny? No, most definitely not. Destiny is aimed at a younger crowd.
