  • If I see someone with a higher grimore, I assume they've been at the game for a while. Seeing a lower G, I assume you're a newer player. Does it mean someone with a lower score has less skill? No I don't think so. Just means they haven't been at the game as long.

  • It shows how long people have been playing the game. It is likely that somebody with an incredibly high score will at least know what they are doing. Usually, at least

  • I think grimiore is more a reflection of the activities you have done. You do have to have a level of skill to be able to get some of that score, but I'm rather terrible at crucible, but I can raise my score just by playing all the game modes on different maps. Collecting ghosts and fragments is a non skill based way to raise it as well. I don't think skill in any video game can really be quantified by a number accurately. Grimiore most accurately shows how much of the game you have experienced. Someone with high grimiore can be very skilled, but I don't think it is the base line for determination.

  • As a guy with 4645 grimoire, all it determines is how much experience/ knowledge you have with the game

  • I remember when people asked for a raid team based on grimoire. Silly

  • No, it just proves how much time you've spent in the game. I only have around 3350 I think? Don't really focus on it too much.

  • Lol no. Grimoire just tells people how much time you've wasted in this game, hunting after a fictitious score. It ok no way tells you how well you actually do in the game. You can have all the raid cards but you just get carried. See the point?

No and yes. Haha sorry but it technically doesn't determine skill level but it does intimidate people and shows how long you played the game. The more practice the better. Unless, of course, there is the people that use the section of the app that shows the nearest grimoire cards and grind it out that way instead of just naturally earning them by continuing to play the game but no hate there or a problem in my book

  • No, I have a low grim. Had destiny year 1 but also had a new child so play time was low. I'm no where near the best but I can hold my own and contribute for sure.

  • No. The only thing it determines is, how much time you have to play the game.

  • Yes. High grimoire = dedication and time invested = either knowledge to beat every situation or gun skill. Both are factors in a players skill worth.

No but it determines you experience and if you have a lot of grimoire you usually know what's up

    • Grimoire only really states how much a player has done, it doesn't really tell you how well they've done it though. As for people with higher light; you can blame that on RNG...

    • I would rather spend time getting better at what I'm good at and improving that, than grinding some other areas to improve a number on a screen that means nothing.

      • Yes, someone with high Girmoire means they have more experience in the game. To get high Grimoire you have to - Fight every boss including raid bosses Get kills with different classes ( Warlock, Hunter, Titan ) Get kills with different weapons Play and win different crucible modes Explore the maps to find ghost and fragments. If you play the game enough and do different things your Grimore will get higher. Some people do come into the game already good at FPS, but that doesn't mean they know how all the mechanics work in this game.

        • What a poorly stated question. Grimoire like several other things is just one aspect of what makes a good player. It by itself obviously does not describe skill but it is a factor alongside others

        • Grimiore doesn't reflect skill, it does reflect effort to look at what is required to earn a grimiore card, and then go do it. So time, effort, and enough skill to do what is asked but honestly, it's a lot of farming and researching how to get certain things. Not so much a skill based characteristic.

        • It shows time and dedication. You can still suck out loud and have a respectable grimore. You can also be fairly new, power level to 40 and high light, wreck shop and have a trash grimore from not playing 500 hours yet

        • To a degree, grimore determines experience and dedication, which can lead to an increase of skill.

          • Nope, just shows you've taken the time to grind out a check list. I'm sitting at 4675 and think of myself as a slightly above average player. Gathering grimoire improve my play style in certain PVP modes but, that's about.

          • Only to a certain extent, because exotics contribute to grimoire ( rng) and if you hunt down all the dead ghosts they contribute as well. So unless you prefer to find the dead ghosts on your own (as I do) having the grimoire cards for them usually indicates that the person is good at looking things up online.

            • No. It primarily determines how long you've been playing the game. Or how much of a completionist you are. Yes there are certain grimoire that require some skill to complete but overall it doesn't necessarily denote being good. Same as K/D. Just my 2 cents.

            • I have notice one thing since TTK came out its the low grim guardians who are always backing out of heroic strikes. I run a lot of heroic strikes when I'm playing and it's a said fact to always c the low grim players backing out. I imagine it's because they aren't as experience so they coward away from a challenge.
