1 ReplyEdited by nowaitholdon: 10/5/2015 11:33:49 PMI don't believe that it's necessarily a measurement of how skilled a person is. It is, however, a measurement of how much of the game that the player has experienced.
-
Hell no. It just shows how much time you put into actually going after Grimoire. There is no indication of skill there whatsoever.
-
Grimoire indicates experience in the battlefield. Weapon-based grimoire is a different factor altogether, but it ties into it.
-
Grimoire is related to time spent in game which DOES NOT guarantee skill. It's likely a higher grimoire player is more skilled but not absolute.
Only sith deal in absolutes.

Yet that's an absolute.

Whatever, Firefly rocks!
Yes and no. High grinoire shows that someone have spend alot of time with this game. But a high grimoire doesnt have to be 4000+. If you didnt go and collect every ghost, your grimoire will be around 3500 i think. Those players can still be very good.
-
Hahahahahahahahaha.. No.
-
Just means u play a lot, that is all. It doesn't measure skill
-
Grimoire does not determine skill level. In my opinion, it gives a rough estimate of amount of time played and which activities a player should have completed. You can have monsters at low levels and scrubs at high levels.
-
I don't really have a high grimoire score, then again, I primarily only run pve and don't actively hunt for dead ghosts.
-
I've never been fussed about actively driving up my grimoire, I enjoy playing as my Titan too much that I haven't even bothered making a hunter, when I do I know my score will go up. The game has a "10 year" plan so it's not like anyone should be in a rush to get max grimoire.
-
More time spent, more knowledgeable, more experience, usually means a better player, well rounded
-
At this moment in time no. In a few more weeks of the taken king grimoire score may be more relevant to experience, but not skill.
-
No, it shows how much time you've spent on a game. USUALLY it translates to more skill (experience and such), but there are some individuals that play a lot and never git gud, as they say.
-
3 RepliesI would say if they're above 4000 then yes. It takes skill to win 100 rumble games but it also takes time.
-
No, shows experience and involvement in the game (or the amount of time you can pour into it).
-
It's just there to show experience
-
Not necessarily. IF I play PvP, it's generally only Control. I do okay in crucible, too, I just don't enjoy playing it. I've seen people with higher grimoire than me and I've outperformed them in everything. Also, Dead Ghosts contribute a lot to the score, too. If someone hasn't put in the time to find them, then there score could be a lot higher. tl;dr No, it just shows how much time you've played
-
No. It determines how much time you have to play the game.
-
To a certain extent yes. If they're still running around at around 3500 grimoire score then they haven't played the game in depth enough to fully understand the game in my belief. I have friends that have played the game same length as me not as high a score and they defiantly struggle with certain aspects of the game. But as some else said people can get carried through raids so raid completions and grimoire score can't be all we base skill on.
-
No it shows your knowledge of the game. If you look at half of the people with high light/low grimoire, they don't have VoG or Crota done.
-
My clan mate picked up destiny on Saturday. By Friday he was light 295 and completed the raid for the first time. He is a pretty damn good player for his whole one week of game play Grimoire is like 1100.... lol NO Grimoire doesn't matter.
-
Grim for PVE, medal score for PvP
-
No, but it does determine how much more time they've invested into specific tasks.
-
Edited by More Cowbell: 10/5/2015 7:50:42 PMIf grimoire was awarded from solo activities only, yes. Some players are carried through raids, trials and even story missions or quests. Things like dead ghosts and the majority of calcified fragments are easy to obtain. Another example is grimoire score increasing when you play a new map in pvp. For these reasons my opinion is no.

Edited by HeadButtYoNut: 10/5/2015 7:43:00 PMIt really doesnt. I had a friend who picked up the game with HoW. His grimm was low but he would dominate people in PVP and Trials. Was great in PVE also. I myself do not go out of my way to collect grimmore. I have more fun playing the game and focusing on things that actually matter. If I am in a group and someone points out a ghost or something to me I will grab it. Regardless though it has very little to do with skill. Even the PVP ones.
