Why are swords so bad in crucible?
I mean seriously! They're a heavy ammo! I'd rather use a pre taken kind auto rifle than this garbage.
Edit: I understand that in the right hands they can be very good. (Obviously I'm not the right hands to use a sword)
My biggest concern is this: Why does something that is a heavy ammo drop require skill and only engaging in certain tactical battles that you need to plan out before hand? Heavy ammo is supposed to be something where you pull the trigger and kill things.

You can eat multiple rockets while blocking... But otherwise, it's in the same boat as hmgs. They trade off ease of kills for more ammo. And because of blocking, they are arguably better against rockets than hmgs. Kind of like rock paper scissors: Rockets>hmgs>swords>rockets

The left trigger block is key in pvp while using a sword.

Part of the problem is you are assuming that "heavy ammo" equates "insta kill". Which is not the case. Heavy ammo is simply the rarer form ammo. And regardless of that, each weapon is a tool to be used. Machine guns mow down lines of enemies. Rocket launchers punch hard and do splash damage, swords slice and block... and heavy fusion cannons drive people insane. Each has a purpose. But you can't say that because a weapon is designed to require a bit of planning and some finnese, that it is a bad weapon because of that.

Tank with sword. Teammate shoot enemies. It requires smart play. A sword lasts way longer than the other 2.

I love the sword in crucible. You get close to 30 swings with it, and that blocking is amazing, plus the 3rd person view can be utilized to see around corners. It's a much more stealthy heavy option opposed to the rockets and machine guns. Just gotta be more like a ninja and you'll learn the ropes for getting a lot of kills
