Don't need good tech to wipe out the planet with nukes. Even with its high spending the US couldn't shoot down every nuke Russia could launch at them hell they'd be lucky to knock down half. It's not exactly a win scenario for Russia either but still the point stands.

How can they work through the arctic winter but the military would fail? I was crushing rock in Colorado last winter in -15°F weather with loaders, conveyor belts running, and a crusher and we aren't even in a cold part of co. But I guess truckers and miners have better technology than the military. So stupid. And the ruskies lost a land war to the Taliban to whomever thinks they haven't lost a land war

And based on the amount of secrets the American government keeps from the public I wouldn't be surprised if we have some crazy high tech weapons. Plus if it turns into nuclear war we would win as our nuclear basses are all over the world and our submarines are anywhere, plus the location of most of our subs are classified to keep that fear factor that "we can strike from anywhere" but then we would destroy the earth so the whole war would end in a lose lose situation.
