Is anyone else disgusted by the quality of rocket launchers in this DLC?

[b]Hezens Vengeance[/b] pls. [i]notice that isn't spelled "Gjallahorn." I don't give 2 fruitcups about exotic launchers[/i] I'm also talking PvE here. I don't use Rockets in crucible.[spoiler]Corrective Measure since '84[/spoiler]Perks are universal. I don't care about your awesome roll on your Smolder or Choleric Dragon cause they're garbage launchers. [b]How many rockets you carry doesn't matter, because a roll with tripod or field scout will max that out when combined with rocket ammo boots. [/b][i]Getting tracking added to your rocket launcher with cluster bombs because you have the Taikonaut is great and all, but [b]IF YOUR BLAST RADIUS AND VELOCITY ARE LOW, IT'S STILL A SHITTY ROCKET LAUNCHER[/b][/i] The only good rockets appear to be The Vertigo and the generic Suros version you can get from the Gunsmith. Just for clarification. A rocket launcher is to deliver splash DPS to an area. The most important stat is Blast Radius. How big the blast is. The next most important stat is Velocity. How fast the blast gets where it's going. If one of these is low, it's a shit launcher end of story. Doesn't matter what perks you got, or what exotics help it.

  • Not sure which one the crucible quartermaster is selling but that's the best one out of all the other sellers. and My classes have boots that increase rockets ammo and my titan has the helmet that make all rockets track. Pretty sweet

                • Most of the launchers I've seen don't have grenades and horseshoes, meaning that I miss a lot of the shots unless I line them up. I don't think they necessarily suck, I just relied on proximity perks as a crutch. Year Two Truth should fix that though.

                  • Hi Billy mayes here with some new super shitty rocket launchers! Those old 3 missile rocket launchers with high velocity, high impact, and tracking are a thing of the past. We now offer low velocity or low impact launchers with randomized perks. But wait there's more, for a limited time only until the next DLC, Lord shaxx, master of the crucible offers a new rocket launcher with half of max impact, below half velocity, and a shit set of perks you can't change! Call 1-800- take it in the ass!

                        • Yeah, they aren't that great, but you don't really need them in the raid, anyways. Sniper rifles are way more valuable this time around.

                          • I got a 295 suros launcher from a gunsmith package. It has cluster bombs, and can wipe out an entire squad of taken just off their spawn.

                          • Whether you use them in crucible or not, rockets were a huge problem. And now 95% of the Crucible playerbase is whining about it because their precious crutch, grenades and horseshoes got nerfed. Fyi to all you scrubs who needed the crutch for crucible, learn how to actually use rockets before crying about your crutch.

                            • I see Elulim's Frenzy as invaluable during the runs against Taken. Mine does Cluster Bomb, so you can imagine that plus the innate bonus damage against Taken is like against mass groups (which the Taken have a habit of doing). It also being Void is very handy against the Taken Wizards. You'll thank the guy using an anti-Taken Cluster Bomb when the Taken Psions were left alone for too long. It's no Gjallarhorn (R.I.P., as you were my first Exotic), but it has its uses. Rocket Launchers were intended for groups and burst damage against single targets, while Machine Guns are sustained DPS which is better against single targets. Both of a place; Gjallarhorn was so great that people forgot that.

                            • Um, using Machine Guns and Swords in PvE are fun and much more reliable for their longer dps capability, and also rockets were only good in PvE in regards to Gjallahorn

                            • Bungie wanted to reduce reliance on rocket launchers because that's all anybody used. *[i]Cough* Gjallarhorn *Coug[/i]h* I haven't really WANTED to use a rocket launcher in TTK, so their decision is working. It's the day of the sword now.
