So, how hard is Tier 3 Court of Oryx actually?
I got my first antiquated rune and I don't want to waste it by failing to kill the boss. Bungie says Tier 3 CoO bosses are "raid level"; does that mean they require coordinated teams with precise strategies? Or can I just hang around the court until a few randoms show up and have a decent chance? I'm 290 light btw, if that matters.

My team had 4 total runes. We one shot it no prob. It was when the 2 ransoms showed up that it got hard. Kept taking sword. Both had no idea what to do. Just grabbed it and ran right at him. Retards.

Depends on the week. This week is easy. It's a crota fight

We had 4 muppets with us earlier who either Couldn't take the shield down Or Decided to hang around him with the sword constantly

1 ReplyJust a side note, if you fail to kill the tier 3 boss your antiquated rune doesn't disappear. You can keep trying as many times as you want until you beat it.

Easily doable with 3+. 2 if you've got mad skills

Depends. Randoms? Unless they have played crota, fat chance. My team 3 manned it barely. I knew I was bound to be kicked, so I did my rune I just got from eris. They failed every attempt after. Good on me. It's hard because the damn shield blast. Of all else, it's just a crota faker.

Mini crota and was fun we were all under 290 light and there was 7 of us took a bit of effort though

Personally I believe they are way to easy. I hope they become more challenging as time passes.

Yes the tier 3 bosses are raid level. Sometimes they are hard sometimes there easy All of them have a specific strategy to kill the boss You can two man it but it's pretty hard The easiest way is to shoot the Wizards that spawn first by "mini Crota" then kill the knight sword bearer. Then one of you pick up the sword and the others start firing at Crota. Best way to fire is to make one man fire and when his magazine is empty the other starts firing Once he is down start slashing him with a sword and repeat.......... This is however this weeks tier 3

Did it in 40 seconds with a fireteam of 6 this morning. Got the team together by posting on forums. Defeinetly helps to know the crota mechanics. We killed adds first, then both wizards, then the sword bearer and downed crota

Another thing..... You won't waste the rune if you fail doing the event you will get your rune back... Hope this helps

1. Not that hard. 2. You don't lose the rune if you fail. So try till you win without fear.

Edited by cheeseking777: 9/26/2015 8:49:19 PMI'd recommend recruiting a team of at least 5 if you're under leveled (it's 300 light). I tried doing it with two others when our highest was 292 and it was really tough. Also, if you don't win, it returns the rune, so try it as much as you want.

It's not hard at all we did it 4 times in a row after trying and dying the first time.

This week on mini crota just make sure you take out adds before the sword barer then take out his shield (I've found lmgs and hammers work best) after that same routine as crota. Don't worry about losing your rune, it's returned if you fail.

I two manned it. 4 times. With a random. It's super super easy, all it takes is 2 downs and he's dead. Harder with more people

Edited by TripleJ: 9/26/2015 8:43:04 PMOnly hard part about the fight is the adds. Once swordbearer dies they won't respawn right away. Kill swordbearer, clean up adds asap then down crota-lite. Also, failing does NOT consume your rune.

You can do it with 3 ppl its not hard, well this week's isnt.. It's just the crota fight basically.
