So, how hard is Tier 3 Court of Oryx actually?
I got my first antiquated rune and I don't want to waste it by failing to kill the boss. Bungie says Tier 3 CoO bosses are "raid level"; does that mean they require coordinated teams with precise strategies? Or can I just hang around the court until a few randoms show up and have a decent chance? I'm 290 light btw, if that matters.

Edited by CaptxnChaos: 9/27/2015 3:27:42 PMWhen they say "raid level" those motherf*ckers mean they literally put the Crota fight in the Court of Oryx. Guy looks exactly the same but smaller, and a sword bearer will spawn which you have to kill and then drop the boss' health down to make him kneel, takes about 2 swords if you're efficient it's super easy. Also if you fail in the Court of Oryx no matter what rank it is you get your rune back.

I did it with four randoms on our second attempt earlier today. Another group of randoms I did it with failed pretty bad since whoever grabbed the sword just started hitting pseudo-Crota right away. In fact I was the only one who actually damaged him with the sword and I've never even done the Crota raid. So if you're doing it with randoms, it just depends on whether or not they know what they're doing. I'd suggest doing it with at least four other people since there are quite a few adds to deal with.

Its not hard at all. Mini Crota fight. Same mechanics.

Easy peasy... I spent the last few hours farming it and got nothing but blue engrams :(

With 4-5 guys it's super easy. Pop the Wizards right away and just play it like Crota's End. Just manage the adds

We did it with 2 300's, one on sword the other launching two rockets.

This week? Not that bad. Last week I couldn't do it, but that was partially because I wasn't really high enough level. It's a simple recreation of the Crota fight, with the inclusion of Wizards that, if left unchecked, will shorten his "downed" duration.

Very easy. Kill wizards, kill bearer, get sword, destroy shield, knife the guy, repeat till its dead.

It's horrible when the people there trying to help you are underleveled and have obviously never done crota since its the same concept.

Id recommend doing it in a party so you can communicate. Its tough but not insane.

This weeks is very easy if you've done crota before. It's like a mini arcade version of crota raid

This week it's an amazing encounter. It's the crota fight. A knight spawns in the middle and two witches spawn next to crota (it's name isn't actually crota, but it looks just like him). You kill the knight, dps crota, and when he kneels hit him with the sword the knight drops. Really really fun fight. Plus any time you try an antiquated rune challenge and fail, it leaves the rune in your inventory to try again
