Every day from now on, try to fill up your bounty inventory with ten 5,000 xp bountys. That's 50,000 xp right away. Next, you need to start doing a public event every day from now on, and horde the reward packages in your post master, because each package rewards 5,000 xp when opened. The total xp gains when you turn in all bountys and public event reward packages is a whopping 150,000 xp. However, if you got ahold of redbull codes and have focused light, the total xp gains will go from 150,000 xp to 225,000 xp, which is most likely to get you straight to, lvl 40, and rank up whatever new subclass you want to rank up. Good luck guardians :)
Edit: Make sure you complete the new subclass quest before you consume your bountys/rewards, and complete the nightfall first (if possible at lvl 34)
Edit: Also, pledge allegiance to a faction to receive reward packages to get guaranteed TTK loot
Edit: I noticed a lot of you aho have commented say that I/we shouldn't rush to getting to lvl forty because we wont have anything to do afterwards. Well, in TTK getting to lvl 40 is only the first step. First of all, you still sill need a higher amount of light to take on higher level enemies, and second, bungie has stated that a significant amount of content wont be unlocked until you hit level 40. For example, you have to be lvl 40 to upgrade year one exotics.
Edit: I get it, some people will get bored if they do this. You don't need to mention this, there are at least 150 replys like that
Edit: Also, do the nighfall to get another 25% xp bonus, with the extra bonus it will give you 281,250 xp. The daily crucible and mission will also get you xp
Edit: This guide is mostly for people who cant log on for hours on end doing missions and strikes, etc... Its so you can log on, do a bounty, play some patrol, maybe do some crucible, and get off when you need to if you're pinched for time and can't hit lvl 40 in September easily without doing this
Edit: Googled it, public events DO give you 5,000 xp, not 2,500 xp
Just think of the level advantages in Trials of Osiris on the first weekend of TTK

2 RepliesThen you'll be complaining about how you burned through all the content. Smh

Edited by Ceryncross: 8/22/2015 1:37:38 AMWhere's the fun in that...? It's just 6 levels for one thing, and I'd rather enjoy my time getting through them.

Will the nf actually be doable at 34? With tdb and how it was doable day 1 for max levels(from before the dlc) but its also always been 2 levels below the cap(which will be 38 and thats impossible at 34) I havent heard anything about it

2 RepliesThis is neat and all, but I kinda want to enjoy the content I'm paying for and not just rush through all of it

While others say it takes 210,000 experience to reach level 20 from level one, I believe it takes 225,000 to reach level 20 from level 2. I reset my hunter to figure out these statistics and until I actually reach level 20, the pattern I've noticed from level 2 to level 7 is that the amount of experience you need increases by 1,000 2-3 is 4,000 3-4 is 5,000 4-5 is 6,000 5-6 is 7,000 6-7 is 8,000 7-8 is 9,000 8-9 is 10,000 9-10 is 11,000 ***19-20 is not 21,000 but 23,500 an extra 2,500 meaning it is more likely to be 38 or 39 instead of close to 40**** If this pattern holds true for all levels, you need 231,000 experience to reach level 40 from 34. So, if you do all 5,000 experience bounties and hold all public event packages, you will not immediately be level 40. However, if I did my math right, using the focused light buff when turning everything in should give you 225,000 experience, meaning completing a mission on a higher level should max you out. The only problems with this are: The +1,000 pattern doesn't hold true. Public Event packages give less than 5,000 exp Also, don't say that you can do Nightfall because the Nightfall level requirement will have increased

12 Repliesits just 6 bloody levels, dont know why you find the need to write a whole essay about it.

Damn better start grinding

Don't forget the Nightfall bonus!

I can explain your entire essay in one step: 1) Earn exp.

And save your focused light brahs.

As you pointed out, a lot of content will not be unlocked until level 40, I wouldn't be surprised if they implement something to stop people from doing this.

4 RepliesHow do you know it's just not xp to level you up and not armor

6 Replieshow do you redeem your focused light? i put in the code a while ago, but where is the focused light?

1 ReplyI'm gonna delete the exotic bounties I have now to free up space for the 5k bounties. I've decided to get ttk because you know what, I play this game a lot and want to keep playing it - exotic drama stuff be damned.
-
They may change the experience given from old bounties.
-
Also play daily on release and crucible

Good thing i have 4 focused lights saved up as well as event packages
