The Grimoire score, something many of us cherish and have worked so hard to increase or max has been removed from the emblem nameplate insignia? Why?!?! Why do we need to see both base AND light levels on the emblem card? Eventually everyone will be level 40, and people can easily inspect to view this redundant info. Grimoire is a great way to instantly distinguish between more accomplished and engaged players than viewing whether they are base level 30 or 40. I agree with many of my group members here that removing the grimoire from nameplate is not something the endgame community wanted. The now nearly 3000 of us worldwide who have worked, grinded, and spent countless hours perfecting destiny feel this is our identity and would really undermine the incredible tasks we accomplished in literally beating every challenge the game has to offer.
We already are under rewarded with our achievement considering there is really no reward or incentive to obtain the maximum obtainable grimoire, that however has not stopped myself and my fellow group mates from doing it. In addition if what is stated in this post is true, not only will this trend continue, but you will this will take away the very identity my entire group has worked so hard to earned and deserve to keep. Please do the right thing Bungie ^.^
Here are some example Nameplates with the grimoire remaining. (Provided by: Grandmasters of Grimoire)

Bump... PLEASE KEEP GRIMOIRE ON THE NAMEPLATE. Imagine this 5 years down the road and the impact it will show in the difference between new players and day 1 players! Let us have this! Thanks and keep up the great work!!

Don't care
-
Absolutely agree...
-
Ya?! No says I.
-
3 RepliesYou still see it inspecting the players character
-
2 RepliesIt's really not a measure of experience at all. It literally only took me 2 hours to find all of the dead ghosts in the game lmao. The only thing keeping me from a max score is my refusal to play trial of thorn and some exotic weapons I haven't gotten yet. If you really want to measure a players experience in the game, check how many hours they have in the game, check how many characters they have and if they're max level, check how many raids they have completed...basically just look at their stats.

Edited by SpyDude: 8/21/2015 1:38:19 AMSome sample nameplates that includes all three items. After you reach level 40, there is no longer any need to display it so then the last example would be the final nameplate. Bungie designers can surely come up with much better solutions. http://i.imgur.com/YcEPaoL.png

Edited by RaiseRentForSingleMothers: 8/21/2015 12:42:08 AMSay these changes happened today. Just for example you run into me in the tower. You inspect me and see my light is 180(just for example) but no grimoire. Now you inspect my character and see the grimoire on my nameplate in character inspection screen(for me it is 3465). I can't remember where I saw it but that is how they're handling this seeing light would be more important in game than grimoire.

1 ReplyI hope bungie changes it to show grimoire instead of redundant level 40 icon

-
2 RepliesDon't mind me... just here collecting some salt.

Edited by Kone19ps: 8/20/2015 10:29:13 PMThey don't want you discriminating by grimoire score so they made it harder to view

Nooo keep it👌

9 RepliesYou're getting a bunch of hate on your post. So I'm here to show some love. Bump! My teams use grim to distinguish between dedicated players and casual players. If we are just messing around then we don't have a preference and we don't mind helping anyone. But if we are playing crucible and want to fill our party, we tend to stay away from those with very low grims. It's a representation of your time commitment to the game, not necessarily your skill but they do tie together in a way. They should bring it back for those of us that do look at it. Light level and base level are pointless in endgame anyways.

2 RepliesI think grimoire score is pointless to be honest. It does show you the people who go out and grind for a higher score but that's it. Having a higher score doesn't mean you're a better player than someone else
-
Nah my guess is they don't want us booting the newbie year 2 players Must have at least 2500 grimoire will replace the gally cry

WE cherish grimoire? Since when does grimoire matter over things like BS nerfs or hot fixes of the wrong things or an entire DLC that was meaningless. But ya, WE care about grimoire. And cozmo replied, what an idiot.
-
Wait, we cherish and work hard for grimoire?
-
3 RepliesI don't know if it's moved or not, but why is this even a big deal? It doesn't show your skill, won't help people clear raids faster, doesn't increase your level, doesn't increase drop rates, doesn't show off your status. It is a number that roughly represents how much you play and how many goodies you have.
-
My answer to that is.... don't be a one trick pony. Reinvent your group and dry your eyes. Move forward or get left behind
-
Please don't speak for everyone. I really don't care. Day one beta player. It would harm most of the complainers that they can't see meaningless stats they don't even understand on their name plate that no one looks at in the first place.. Anymore.
-
It's not gone, it's just been moved.
-
BUUUUUMP!! This would sadden me. Bad idea Bungie.

I don't know how things will progress, but I've never been very focused on grimoire score. Probably why a clan mate recently told me that I'm a better player than my GS might suggest. I tend to look at their gear. If a player is sporting a full raid loadout, including items that only dropped in hard mode, then I assume they know what they're doing. Of course some people will have been carried, but if they've got the lot that says competence to me.

1 ReplyI have near max grimoire (missing 15) but idc about ppl not seeing it, i just want to see others score especially for trials so i can adjust my playstyle if its really high
