Is your connection wired or wireless when gaming?
I'm wired, but which one would be best?
Edit: Due to much confusion, I will explain, vote what you use and comment what is best.

I am currently wireless. But you can't beat a wired connection

Wired mostly. Seems to run exactly the same on wireless even though I'm very far from the router.

9 RepliesLol depends on the motem router and Internet provider but wired is always the best way too get faster internet. I have the best internet money can get right now and my wifi download speed on an iPhone 6 is at over 250 mB/s I can provide screenshots if needed. So I'm sure my Xbox one wired is even faster then that. But what most people don't realize is that lag is mostly due too PING and upload speed when gaming. So just keep that in mind

I always prefer to go wired, if possible. You have a more stable and reliable connection with fewer network hiccups and fluctuations. And, you don't have to worry about a split-second loss of signal causing huge lag spikes... or resulting in you being booted entirely.

I've been using wired years. People who play FPS games on wireless ruin the experience for every player in a lobby, including themselves.

well my pc is wired and my xbox is wireless is simply of just changing the Leads as they are right next to each other.

Wireless during the day, wired at night. Cuz I have to run it through the kitchen and across the living room.

I'd have to trail a cable through the kitchen into and through the living room to go wired and with 3 kids that ain't gunna happen. My download rarely drops below 30-35 my upload sits at 10 and my latency is never more the 150ms. I rarely if ever lag online unless someone else is screwing with their connection.

Im wired its the only way to go. Sucks sometimes though depending on where the router is in the house. But to those who have to be wireless but really want to stabilize their ping try a powerline. I got one for my brother and he hasnt had issues since.
