At the current exchange rate $40 equals £25 and change. Why are you charging us £40? For us that is £4-6 off the price of a new game.
'We don't fix the pricing' is not a valid answer. Speak to the people who do and respond appropriately, please. Bear in mind that I will be able to buy the full game plus ALL expansions for the same price in hard copy for only £6 more

So why as a year one player do I have to pay the same amount as a year two player does for all content, and £15 more than my US counter parts? Seems a little unfair, no? Your really not doing much to keep people playing this game.
Edit: it's hilarious that this post has by far attracted the most attention to any other I've posted on here. And most of that attention is people saying it's because you're British, or because we won't join the euro, or because we drink tea with milk in (personally I drink coffee), or it's because we lost a war in the 1700's, you know the 1700's, that was when Americans were passing laws that made slaves property and would be hung on site if they were caught north of Alabama. But what, i hear you ask, has slave laws in the 1700's got to do with Destiny? Nothing. That's the point. Loads of people go on about how toxic this community is. They are right. It kind of puts me of playing the game. It's tiring, and only serves to show that you are an arsehole. But I'm guessing you have nothing better to do with your life.
Thank you to all of the constructive posts.

Edited by Silvurphlame: 7/29/2015 7:52:10 PMFor physical copies of the game, it would be more expensive if they are shipping overseas, I'm sure. Although I doubt it requires £40 (~$60?) to maintain the same profit margin. For digital-only merchandise it's really glaring, since the distribution costs must be nearly non-existent compared to traditional retail. It's also because your British. :P

Edited by Gnoizic: 7/29/2015 7:46:13 PMThe reason from the pricing and the lack of Bungie response on the issue is simple (and the same thing): It's Activision that sets the price for DLC, not Bungie. And while they've done alright in some cases (making CoD DLC around an $18 equivalent for $15 DLC overseas), they (and the industry in general) have done a poor job in the conversion overall. Like many other companies, Activision has, in this case, opted to simply change the denomination of currency, not the number behind it. This is similar to the early pricing of the PS4 and Xbox One overseas. You're certainly being ripped off, since £40 is about the price of a new game (including tax) over here, but you're barking up the wrong tree. Bungie can't do anything (or say anything) about it without feeling the wrath of their Activision overlords as soon as they do say anything.

I'm proud to be an American! Where at least I know I'm free!

Cause your in the wrong side of the pond and too far away to smack one of the destiny devs in the face. But I will do it for you...for the Britts and for the Gjallahorn.

1 ReplyWhy is it that when a British person asks a question all they get back is shit. Ohh cus ur British... or cus we lost a war.. this person asked a valid question so if ppl cant give valid answers dont bother posting.. if u got shit to say, then vent it somewhere else.

I just wish they would reply. I truly depresses me to see interesting clever people who care about destiny, take there time to try and engage and develop a relationship with bungie to build an understanding of trust so both parts can be rewarded and feel they are rewarding a company for its efforts and material. But bungie are not interested in engaging with its players on there own forum from what I can see....... That's why they are failing to hold there own international community together. My opinion anyway.

2 RepliesWell I live in the U.S and it is $79.99 for me to pre-order the down load. Where is everyone getting that it's $40 in the U.S?

Edited by AlexisRivera: 7/27/2015 10:16:56 PMIt's no secret that companies (Not limited to videogame companies) Play loosely with their pricing schemes to get extra benefit from anything they can get away with, that includes "rounding" in their favor or in this case "matching" the numbers on prices to take advantage of the exchange rates in various regions. This is scummy as hell but sadly legal unless your local consumer protection laws deal with this sort of thing.

Edited by alpha197hr: 7/27/2015 9:59:47 PMThe salt and general hate towards the British on this post is quite amusing
im British btw
6 RepliesI only feel sympathy for Canadians and Australians because they don't deserve to get ripped of more than we in the U.S. No one cares about the British. You guys were mean enough to spawn us.

8 RepliesHonestly, I'm an American. And I don't understand it either. But why do I pay more for gas in Florida, where I live, than in North Carolina? Not sure, but I think it has to do with shipping(gas, not games). Again though, not sure. And I think ppl who bring up the
cuz we're American and you're not
are just trolling sphincters. Prepubesent 12 year olds who think they are funny.

realistic answer: most likely either a mistake or activision being greedy
real answer: accents. they're too good
Upon delving deeper, and please correct me if I'm wrong my American friends, the same edition I have linked to in the original post will retail at $79.99 at GameStop? That is twice the price of the Taken King Digital download in the U.S. So in the U.S. You pay half the price for the standalone TTK digital download but in the UK we pay basically the same price. Pricing is so off here. This is stupid Bungie. Why would I pay the price of a full game for DLC, regardless of how many new missions I can undertake in the SAME LOCATIONS! Or how many new weapons I can try to fit in my nearly full vault space. This kinda seals it for me. I won't be buying the DLC. It is not gonna be worth the price of a full game. I'll spend my money on MGS V and Fallout 4 instead. Shame really.

toxic
There's that word again. Maybe it's because unless Bungie steps in there's nothing to say? Therefore you get lampooned. Grow a spine and learn to take a joke, lobster. Nobody seriously thinks you should be paying more for Destiny than anyone else.

3 RepliesAustralians pay $69.95(around $95USD) don't complain to me please
