Ok. So I've seen a lot of Skolas Guides already circulating. Unfortunately they are not stating the "easiest way". I'm not going to explain the poison, dismantling mines, or basics like that. I'm just going to point out the Easiest and fastest method. (Killing Skolas and only having to worry about 1 set of mines.)
I have killed Skolas at LEAST 6 times minimum every single week since HOW dropped, so this is purely from experience. (I play all the endgame material on my girlfriend's account too) that's at least 84 Skolas Completions between the two accounts.
You DO NOT need a titan, hunter, or warlock, you DO NOT need a Gjallarhorn, any mix of classes or rocket launchers will do. Weapons and Blessing do help, invisibly does help, self res does help. So does gjallarhorn, but nothing is a necessity. Any 34 that can communicate is all that is needed. (I've even killed Skolas with 2 33s that have never done it. Communication is key)
0. Eat a heavy synth (yum)
1. Run out to the left
2. Kill Servitor
3. Burn Skolas with your rockets until he gets to close
4. Run to the right ledge and kill Second Servitor
5. Burn Skolas again. (If you don't break the bonds, kill another Servitor and Keep hitting on Skolas until you break the bonds.)
(SKOLAS HEALTH 70%) *Bonds Broken (Skolas life Between ,/K)
6. Poison... Just kill Adds! (Rotate if needed, always try to stay on the opposite side of Skolas.)
7. Once all adds are clear you should be able to eat another synth.
**Do not shoot anymore rockets!
8. Shoot Skolas with primaries/secondaries only!
9. If adds start pouring out focus all fire on adds.
10. Repeat 8, 9 until the first set of "Dismantle Mines" hits.
(SKOLAS HEALTH 50%) *Dismantle Mines (Skolas life Under A in Skolas)
11. Once the first set of mines are clear, just focus on adds, rotating when needed.
12. By this time everyone should have max rockets and adds cleared.
13. Now just focus primaries/secondaries at Skolas. (*no rockets yet)
*depending on his health, if adds start pouring out before the second set of "Dismantle mines" happens stop shooting Skolas and focus on the adds again.
14. Now that the adds are clear, by this time you should all have Maxed rockets and maybe even a heavy synth ready.
15. Focus fire (primaries/secondaries only) until second "Dismantle Mines" comes up again.
(SKOLAS HEALTH 25%) (Skolas life Between S/K)
16. Soon as you hear "Dismantle Mines" - here is where the Rockets come in. Burn him, and burn him hard, eat a synth if needed. (You have 10 seconds before the first mine spawns)
17. You have now killed Skolas before the second set of mines spawn.
*Dismantle second set of mines in peace.
18. Claim your rewards
Key here is for *everyone to have Maxed rockets and maybe even a synth ready before the Second set of mines are called out. Shooting him with primaries and secondaries until he calls out the second set will ensure you have enough rockets to kill him before the mines start to spawn.
TIPS
*Always clear adds, make it a priority.
*Only shoot rockets after bonds are broken if you are sure you'll have 7 when he hits 25% health (ammo pack on the ground...).
*If your going to die, try to die as close to the edge of the arena if possible, for an easier revive.
*Stick together as a group & Pay attention to the poison; the only one that should split up from the group would be the one who just passed the poison.
*Rotate alot, always try to stay on the opposite side of Skolas.

**FUN FACT (Skolas when Solar Burn with Gally)
- 10-12 Gallys to Break Bonds
- 36-38 Total Gallys for Skolas @ Full Health to Death
Good luck!

1 ReplyDid this with some lfg peeps and it worked perfectly. I'd like to say we moved together when dismantling mines as well, made it easier to trade poison. Didn't try to kill skolas before mines spawn though, I'll have to do that part next time

1 ReplyI find it easier to kill any adds on the playing field. Even before he is down to half health
-
1 ReplyI'm pretty sure there are less steps for rebuilding a transmission... Otherwise, thanks for helping the community. I haven't set foot in that arena yet, but hope to have someone with experience helping when I do.

2 RepliesOverall dead on with strategy, but you sort of brush over the most critical part where people get caught up, which is at the mines. Here's my group's strategy for the mines, and it works well. 1) be prepared for the mines! They come at 50% and 25% health. Make sure everyone has supers ready. 2) Our strategy requires a warlock. You can play with the other two. 3) You need to split up! Don't dismantle as a group. If you're on the right platform (looking at the arena as you come in), and A comes up on the left one, then B shows up at the right one, you're not going to make it time wise. Period. 4) We leave the warlock with the essence on the right platform. The other 2 rotate counter clockwise (away from doors where ads are coming out) to the left platform right when mines are announced. When the warlock dies, he self- resurrects only when his mine shows up. 5) Titan bubble middle mine. Or have Hunter with invisibility. 6) if someone dies, take out ads, rotate, and bring them back.

1 ReplyEdited by jareids: 7/15/2015 2:08:17 AMI'd just add that you should have everyones supers ready before starting the first set of mines, and to send the immune person over to the other side of the map to dismantle the mine on the other side. Sometimes you can get screwed by mines spawning too quickly and you can't get to each of them in time if you're all together. A hunter is best to send to the other side.
