Me and a buddy were playing some rumble, and we just needed to get the bounty for the 5 rumble games done. After we got in the game we decided to just not kill each other (we weren't boosting or anything) and after the second game I get a message reading "Cheatin -blam!- still lost. Recorded and reported. Enjoy ur ban clown".
I seriously don't think we did anything wrong. What are you're thoughts? Also I have his gamertag, if anyone wants it just ask.
God damn some of you forum users are assholes!

I'm going to actually use my brain and say that he wasn't cheating at all. In fact, he was giving everyone else an advantage. He promised his buddy he wouldn't kill him, which means when he encountered an enemy he had to take a valuable 1-2 seconds to determine if it was his friend or not, those 1-2 seconds is plenty of time for an enemy to kill him. Now if he was just sitting in a room with his friend the whole match tag teaming it up, then yes that is cheating.
-
No, you weren't cheating. If anything you were aiding the others in the match and they should have thanked you not reported you. Rumble is amount getting kills. So by not killing each other, you were decreasing the number of kills you could score with. Cheating in rumble would be going with a 3 man group and letting one of the three kill the other 2. Or I suppose if you were running side by side or camping a room, making it difficult for others to kill you. But as someone else said, Bungie allows 3 man fire teams join, so breathe easy mate. The report means nothing. You have to remember a lot of young people play this game. And reporting people for anything other than true lag switching is just childish and reactionary to do.

I mean look at my Titan. I played rumble with my friend who needed 5 wins for the grimoire, and I just let him kill me whenever I saw him. People can get salty all they want, I still played, I just avoided killing him.

If it's red it's dead. Shouldn't matter if it's your buddy or not.
-
2 RepliesIt's free for all with fire teams enabled. That behavior is expected. It's not cheating if they let you match up with your buddies on purpose
-
1 ReplyYou're doing what we call breaking the spirit of the game, but not necessarily the rules... You won't be banned, but it's just weak...
-
You're a -blam!-ing scrub; I hope you get banned.... That being said I did run into your kind in cruicible and it's annoying as -blam!- ", I still won against those scrubs who tag teamed on rumble.
-
Bungie wanted this because they allow fire teams in free for all.
-
I don't see why you wouldn't want to kill each other though. Makes it more fun to go out of my way to kill my cousin when we play rumble. I imagine he does the same

Reported and recorded hahahah

Do not go gentle into that good night Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Do not go gentle into that good night.

Killing clan mates/buddies in Rumble is awesome. SMH
-
I boosted just to get the Grimoire done. Only got salvage to do.
-
You weren't doing anything wrong. And yes a lot of these people are ass holes. Ignore them and enjoy your day!
-
Still unfair advantage. But many things are reported after the ToO launched. But that is my opinion
-
You should never point fingers!

27 RepliesYes, you were cheating. By definition anyway. Layman's terms, cheating is doing something unfairly to gain an advantage. Even if you and your buddy were sincerely refraining from killing eachother with no advantageous motive in mind, you still gained it anyway. You also created an unlevel, and disadvantageous playing field for other players. I try not to judge people on these threads, so I will blindly assume you are being truthful about your sincerety. With that being said, yes you cheated, and I would advise you to refrain from following a similar path in the future.
-
Well your not wrong your just an ahole
-
This is why i dont rumble. Always some asshats like you boosting in fireteams
-
I think of this as a form of cheating, it makes it harder for everyone else, but not a reportable one.
-
To people saying it's cheating due to boosting, wouldn't it be more of boosting if he was killing his friend? Wouldn't he be limiting himself by not killing his friend?
-
To each their own. Fire teams are allowed in crucible so it can't strictly be called cheating. When my roommate and I decide to do Rumble as a fire team, we kill the crap out of each other. :P So much more fun that way.
-
1 ReplyWhy wouldn't you at least try? In my opinion, it's equivalent to people who sit in strikes and don't do anything so they can get the no death in strike bounty done.
-
In essence you can say it was a form of cheating. Since you were creating an unfair advantage over the others by not killing your team mate.
-
I don't see it as cheating. You and your buddy don't want to kill each other fine. If you are running together, defending each other, that's a different thing. But if you were both just playing the game, and just not shooting on each other, then that's fine.
