HoW turned out to be an epic failure.
Seriously, TDB had the Crota raid and even though it isn't the best raid at least people played it and it had good rewards.
Everyone was so hyped for HoW but now that we've lived with it for awhile it turns out to be inferior to previous activities we've had.
Some people enjoy ToO but for the majority of people HoW hasn't brought anything new they enjoy playing on a regular basis.
With this recognition I am worried about TTK. Bungie hyped HoW so much and it sucks. Not sure we should have any more confidence in future DLC releases.

Well how removed the need to grind so no one feels as compelled to complete weekly activities because in reality they aren't that fun. Overall I had more fun with trials than anything since the vog. Everyone was going through the Croat raid so many time because they needed armor and it took them like 2 months to give us the hard raid version

How is way better than the dark below but both dlc were awesome

1 ReplyI'm afraid you might be right. I started with Destiny after TDB launched, so it was part of the game for me. But looking at how long I did TDB content, and how the HoW content has already become beyond boring, you might be right. I do have faith in TTK though.
-
True. I ran crotas end every week up until HoW. I only ran PoE about 5 times total. It's so boring

Shut up

Stop your whining

How is better

9 RepliesI would disagree cause we have more end game activities. TDB had the raid. That was it. HoW has PoE 32, 34, and 35, queens wrath bounties and rep, and trials of Osiris. (For me at least) On top of doing the other 2 raids, their is plenty of weekly resets to keep me busy all week while I chase down my last 100 Grimoire.
-
Thank god I thought I was the only one HoW is boring and killed my Destiny mood as TDB I played a lot at the time
-
PoE It's good and it's a good thing to do. ToO is the best edition to the game. And I help it stays relevant.
-
I don't think it's worse than TDB, I'm just burnt out on the game and it's grind. I play maybe once or twice a week now just for nightfalls and maybe a raid rather than most days like I use to. Hopefully TTK has enough stuff to keep me interested. Atleast TTK has a new raid though
-
Other than ascending and black hammer, nothing fantastic has come from either expansion
-
All dlc's get boring after a while
-
I live ToO. But i -blam!-ing hate PoE. I didn't finish 1 elder cipher

22 RepliesI love these threads and watching all the hate for HoW and TDB. I haven't bought either so I'm glad I didn't waste my money. And then a month or so after ttk comes out, more threads about how crud that is. And people expect it to change... It ain't changing.

HoW got old pretty quick not gonna lie.. The queens bounties are good for xp but as far as rep rewards go they suck lol same with PoE. I got all the exotic bounties first two weeks it was out and hit rank 4 with variks but now I haven't done a single one in about 3 weeks since the rewards and the whole skolas fight to get a pulse rifle with shank burn mean literally nothing to me. I do enjoy trials and play it every weeekend but even then the only reward I need from that is an elemental messenger. I've got doubles of all the other guns with every element and more etheric light than I need. TDB wasn't as great as I'd hoped but it's still fun to go and take out crota alone or with a friend or two to pass the time. The weapons may not have been anything amazing but crota guns are all substantially superior when compared to PoE guns.
-
Well I would have to say I like it, yeah we didn't get a Raid but we did get PoE, yeah the loot ain't all that but I've been enjoying it more. Look at it this way, when the game released we didn't have much to do, but now look, we have two Raids an Arena Trials, many more PvP maps more loot and yes drop rate ain't all that but hey that's why we grind right, I've made some new great friends since this came out. And with the taken king only a few months away we will be knee deep in content. And do t forget TTK has got new locations and the biggest Raid yet plus after TRK the Vex DLC and the Cable DLC to look forward to before the second game. Now if you don't mind I'm off to go grinding.

4 RepliesAm I the only one here who enjoys PoE?
-
-
I disagree. I love prison of elders, and it gives a lot more repeatable weekly gameplay than either of the raids. The rewards are meh, but the activity is super fun
-
2 RepliesThe only good thing from Crota that is a original, classic gun worth having is the black hammer. Everything else is weapon parts honestly. The Fang is no Fatebringer, and Word of Crota is pathetic honestly, rather use my Epilogue if I need the burn. CE is not as fun as PoE to me, plus PoE has three exotics found nowhere else. I do like the TDB as an expansion but HoW is better IMO.

1 ReplyYou stated your opinion as fact. If you want to make a reasonable thread that I would consider agreeing with out on, don't make yourself sound like you are correct when the thought can be different for others.
-
It's not horrible but I think raids trump PoE and the worst possible version of crucible(ToO). TKK should be the best DLC with a new raid, new enemies, new areas, new subclasses and different versions of crucible. I'd still rather play Crota over anything HOW has to offer.

1 ReplyMy issue with HoW is that the vanilla game and the previous expansion promoted social play. The more people in your clan, the more likely you were to be completing activities on a daily basis. So I made some good friends thanks to 6-man fireteams with long hard challenging puzzles. HoW took a complete U-turn and supports a maximum of 3-man fireteams, separating my clan. Most people find Prison of Elders boring too so less people actively want to join in, along with the restriction of space. It basically alienates people, I'm hoping very much that TTK will fix this for me. I'm going to get hate for this comment, but I also look forward to the day Destiny is no longer supported on last-gen consoles. I imagine the power behind the PS4 and XB1 could support anything beyond 6 to perhaps even 16-man raids!

3 RepliesWrong. It's better.
