I've got into quite a few "whizzing" matches with kids the last couple days.
There seems to be a general consensus amongst complainers that, *ahem*:
ITS TOTAL BS THAT NEW PLAYERS WILL GET ALL THE OLD CONTENT FOR $60, WHEN *sniffle* WHEN *cough* WHEN I HAD... (Your mom had to) WHEN I HAD TO PAY MORRRrRrREeee. EF YOU BUNGIE! THIS *fart* IS SUCH A SLAP IN MY WIDDLE FACE
(facepalm)
I'm sorry you guys can't understand simple economics.
In a game such as destiny (mmo rpgISH), the new expansions will drive down the price of all the old content 100% of the time.
Stop acting like your being slighted. this is how every game ever has worked. Grow up, move on.

9 Replies-blam!- you. You're stupid. This is unfair they shouldn't get the base game + dlc's for 60$ WE PAYED FOR THE GAME AND DLC OR PASS. 60$ for new noobs is bs They should have to buy Destiny+dlc separately just as we did.. If not there should be two versions, because I AM NOT GOING TO PAY FOR SHIT I ALREADY PAID FOR. Stupid piece of shit -blam!-ing kill yourself

2 RepliesWelcome to the Obama Era of gaming. Take from the Vets. From those who have built game up and give it to those who haven't earned it.
-
Or wait Buy it later A few months after TTK comes out and the other two upcoming mystery DLCs (if old slide on redditt is right) then the price will be lower. It will have everything and be cheap.
-
4 RepliesLooking past the price, new players buying collectors edition get 3 exotic class items, weapons package, shaders, and emotes. Veterans not wanting to rebuy the game and dlcs that they already own don't get those
-
This might be economics, but I dont give a damn about the money. The problem is... BUYING ALL THE CONTENT I ALREADY HAVE TO GET COLLECTIBLE REWARDS. That is not economics or any favorable marketing scheme... that is complete bullshit.
-
Goodbye destiny, you -blam!- the veteran player bungie, sick the new player cry for the games is hard, ALL NOOB PLAY DESTINY, CRY IN BUNGIE MAMA FORUM.. The life valuus ta aurc is good, no change bungie, i kill valuus in nightfall in solo, stop bungie kill the games..

When games get older their value goes down. It's simple
-
People tend to forget that most of those people won't be able to enjoy the content as we did when they launched. They'll have to level everything up and acquire good gear to be on our level. Also it will be hard for them to find a group since most people will be busy with TTK.
-
3 RepliesThat's not the problem, the problem is that the new players get way more exclusives then the VIP rewards. Another problem is that Bungie didn't bother to add a special edition for people who already own the -blam!-ing game.
-
7 RepliesYou are a condescending ass, hope that doesn't offend your feelers. Most are upset at the new people getting free exotics where older players do not.
-
5 RepliesNever seeing ESO work like this or WoW this is the first time I have ever heard of a game that does this sooooo shut up fan girl

1 ReplyEdited by LONE RANGER23: 6/20/2015 12:45:33 PMMy (and many others) problem isn't that their getting the game as we now have it for a fair price. My problem is that newbs are getting Taken King (New Content) for essentially 10$ while we have to pay 40$. That's just not right. Bungie needs to lower the price of TTK. They also need to add a veteran's award program (Like Ubisoft's UPLAY) that awards people who played the shit out of the game. Just my 2 cents.

8 RepliesSimple economics? Try and justify this. New players in America can get destiny Tdb How and TTK for $60. Current players from the UK are being charged the equivalent of $63 just for the taken king dlc. This is so wrong lol, can you see why some of us have a problem with the pricing?

3 RepliesNot only that, but let's be honest. Those of us who have been playing for the last year in Vanilla/DLC content, have had a full year of playing on that content that newcomers to the game won't have. We have a lot of gear, weapons and armor, that new players won't have and will be very behind in obtaining. I will waltz into the next DLC at max level, with all exotics and every weapon and armor piece I could truly want, they won't. That's what my $95 last year bought me. I've had the last year to make friends, get gear and have fun, a year that they didn't get. To me, that alone was worth the price tag. Should Bungie offer a TTK option with the collectors items without vanilla destiny and DLC's, yes, probably. Should the digital collectors edition cost less than the physical edition? Yes. But either would still come out to $60-$70 and it would make the pricing structure more convoluted than it already is. Bungie is a developer and they are running a business. They need a way to bring new players in because new players=more money=more and better content.

Edited by bluedice: 6/19/2015 7:06:07 PMMetal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes is now free for PSN+ subscribers and the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition now costs a mere 14.99 dollars. This happens to every single game, they all drops in price after a year, so I fail to understand why people are so surprised or so upset about it. You've paid 100 bucks for a content that you've been using for the past year, they will pay less because a good portion of that content is already obsolete and they will have even less time to enjoy everything until the next DLC or installment of the games becomes available. That part is fair and sane. What isn't fair, nor sane or smart is not giving the same amount or even more perks to people that in the end will have spent at least 140 bucks in their game and made Destiny what it is. That indeed plain sucks and is a stupid move by their end.

it's understandable that the old content will be cheaper, but it's not only cheaper to new purchase players. It's free. and half of what the expansion costs.. The only thing I've learned is not to buy anything until I get it all for free later from bungie. It's their problem their old content has no replay value. and all that shit everyones been doing in PoE for Etheric lights to upgrade the armor they want to have max is going to amount to shit in the expansion because they aren't going to continue that. so there's no point in even playing and obtaining anything because it all will be yet again rendered useless.
-
6 RepliesThat's a sign that the game has failed..I remember two years after release one of the gta was still 50$.
-
It's just like if you wait to buy a game until it's old and cheaper. The DLCs are now old, and therefore, cheaper.
-
I agree. Any game you buy for 60$ you go back to game stop and they may or may not give you back 49 to 40 if you bring it back the same month it got out. After that dont even bother.
-
3 RepliesI'm so sorry content drops in price... These new editions are basically a goty edition
-
21 RepliesSo in your mind Destiny is $10 and the DLCs are $5 each having just paid $15 to $20 for the PoE assuming you bought it early or recently?
