The POE is doing some weird things to destiny, heres my thoughts. Prior to POE we had the raids, the Crota one in general was sooo easy it was ridiculous and you only needed two people max to complete it. This meant that the rest of the team just got to sit up on that ledge, shoot rockets when told and then get loot. Everyone got used to being carried to their 32 and this resulted in a serious lack of skill in most 32s. How many times have you seen the post "Need one for Crota, must be Swordbearer"? Are you telling me that out of the five people in your party no one knows how to run the sword? Im not helping these people anymore, if you cant run the sword then you dont deserve Crotas loot. And this applies even more to POE because its too hard to carry people through the higher level POEs, and a mission that takes 20 mins with people of your skill level then takes 2 hours with one of the lazy aforementioned guardians. Even with guys in my clan, guys that I helped carry to 32, I just cannot be bothered making my life so much harder just to get these guys some loot (have done plenty of this already and have had enough). I now find myself not wanting to play with alot of people that I used to raid with because I feel that they are dead weight. Sound harsh? it is, and I feel bad but its hard to fly like an Eagle when you are surrounded by Turkeys.
It wouldnt be so bad if after they were carried to 32 they got to work and had all the necessary burns for the POE but they dont, because they are lazy and want this stuff handed to them because this is what they are used to. Most of them are just waiting for me to carry them so they can get their next Etheric light. No one carried me to 34, we two manned the 32 the first night and then found a random to do the 34 with us because no one else was at 33 yet. If I dont carry these guys they just wont do it and Im sick of it.
Does anybody else feel this way?

2 RepliesChina called!
They want their wall back :/
No. Every player on this game has been dead weight at one time or another. Deal with it
-
I have effectively 2 manned all of corta hard so what if someone wants carried who cares. Now on the other hand 34&35 PoE is not the same. You can't carry someone (maybe certain weeks on the 34) but in general you can't carry. I do agree across the bored there are a lot of low skill players but that is true in every major MMO ever made. Cod WoW Everquest the list goes on and on. You will never see a game where everyone is skilled or even on where the majority is skilled. If by some off chance you do I beat you don't play the game long because it will be boring as shit.
-
I feel you. I got carried a bit back when I was a 26 taking my first raid in VOG but I learned quick how to pull myself up and get good on my own. Me and one friend two manned the nightfall this week like bosses and then went on to do it twice more for friends. Nowadays I see 32s 33s and even 34s Who can face me down in a hallway with a hawk moon and miss 8 shots. The lack of skill is absolutely appalling. Not that I'm the best by far. But I know I'm good enough to have some pride in my game.
-
I feel you man! Same here I am like who has a 365 sniper and JellyHorn and the rest of my teammates just groan! I kept telling them last week that they will need 365 void sniper and Machine gun No DICE
-
It's basically just like strike missions, besides the terrible k/d they would have there is really nothing stopping people from just not playing
-
I completely agree with you! I am dealing with a friend who keeps running out carelessly and getting knocked down. Then barks orders on how to revive him. My thing is, if uou know you're getting killed 6 times in one round of PoE, you should try to figure out what you're doing wrong instead of bringing the team down. We did this on lvl 35 with no success against the servitor. I'll be looking for a new team mate later today.
-
When I put up my own fireteam,which-for obvious reasons-I do very frequently since PoE dropped- I make exact requirements what I need. I ask people right away in the chatparty what class they play and what loadout they have. If they don't fulfill my requirements, I kindly explain to them that this is gonna make it hard on ourselves once we reach Skolas. I won't run with them to round 5 and then kick them cuz they don't have Gally.

2 RepliesEdited by friedricetheman: 6/10/2015 9:11:51 AMImagine me carrying two complete Prison virgins into PoE32.. It was a horrible experience that I am not too keen to repeat again.. I am ashamed to admit that I have to pull out my 365 horn to take down the boss.. There was no other way...
-
4 RepliesI can carry on poe32. Kinda can do that on 34 as well as long as they can "at least" defuse mines( though boss is out of question). Poe35 is still too hardcore for a lot people. Ive seen ppl failing with gjals too. On 35 you really need to know what to do. Done it every week on every burn, but arc was absolutely hell. Whoever has done it on arc has my respect, we must be very very few.

1 ReplyI tried to carry two of my clan mates (lvl 33s) vs the lvl 34 Qudron and thing was almost impossible with them lol. Plus we only had 1 Gjally (me) so it made things worse. So yes, I agree with your post. I'm tired of it...lol

1 ReplyIf I join a group for Poe and one guy doesn't have the right weapons I out right tell them this isn't going to work and tell them why it won't work and I leave and find a new group
-
But swining a sword is so easy. It doesnt take much thought. Just kick him while hes down and hall ass when he gets back up. Its child's play idk why they're having a hard time hitting a guy on his knees with a sword.
-
This "dead weight" is exactly why PoE needs checkpoints. It's ridiculous that you can't leave a team that can't beat it without starting over
-
The worst are those that only what to do the Skolas fight! Have ppl drop out when they realise that is not the Skolas fight. Imo those are the worst players I ever meet in this game
-
Seems like you created your situation. Now live with it. They may have been lazy but you let them get away with it. Deal with the choice you made.... don't blame them now.
-
It blows my mind when people can't get the hang of this game. I hated FPS games, but this is one easy game in PVE. I'm as casual as it gets and find it fairly simple. It's all mechanics and repetition. I get what you're saying. Plus POE is so boring id rather just get the loot and get on with my day.
-
I agree with what your saying, but i dont think i've got to the point where i'll stop raiding/playing with my clan mates that arent quite lvl34. What does seem apparent is that the skill gap is a bit more clear, especially with PoE and im guessing definitely with ToO. You cannot be carried in PoE really, each team member has to contribute something or else it all goes to shit. It is funny looking back at the raids and thinking of how many runs we carried someone (myself included at times!), hell I remember taking at level 25 through vog hard at one point, and the countless lvl30's through crota hard. Its quite nice actually in PoE, that each of the three fireteam members should pull their weight for the run to be smooth, quick, and successful
-
So right. Me and two of my other friends are much better then the rest of them so I always feel like a dick leaving them out but I can't deal with them -blam!-ing up Skolasfir three hours.

Edited by AscendantBarrin: 6/10/2015 9:42:04 AMEasy bud, sometimes even though they are level 30 and up it may be their first time trying it. I still haven't ran VoG or Crota and for the first time today I ran 32 PoE with 1 other player. I'm a PvP player but will try something new to keep the game fresh
-
I agree with you, I am one of those players that are not good enough to do it, but I know I am. I have never done VOG, I have done crota, three times and carried all the way, it was great and I could possibly even pull my weight now. Here's the big difference between me and the people that you're talking about, I know my limitations and will possibly never have the ability or skills to do POE 34, 35, and would never expect to have someone carry me through it, even if they were able to, I want to do it for me. I had really good friends help me out with 32, I was proud to be more of a help than a burden. I did really good and found out that this is the level that I am at now. I don't expect anyone to carry me anywhere, but some do. You are right, stick to your guns and if people are trying to get a free ride then boot them. Sorry about the novel lol. Just wanted to let you know that there are people that understand their limits and don't feel wronged about it at all.

2 RepliesI think in every group there were people who never really needed or wanted to step up. The first time I ran the vault there were only 2 guys in the group who had done it before so I was content to follow their lead and watch what they were doing. The relic intrigued me as I'd heard a lot about how vital it was and how often LFGs would ask specifically for a relic runner. I looked on in awe as the 2 sherpas basicly, walked around hitting harpies and throwing out the odd super here and there at the templar. Then came Atheon. This must be the hard bit? Nope. Not even harpies in the way this time. Just cleansing people. Cool. I can do that. I now run relic every time I go in there. Sword bearer was much simpler really. Jump on your rock of choice, shout out when you want damage, jump up, hit boss 3 times, jump down. This is seemingly a coveted skill. Nobody really seemed to want the responsibility. Even queries as to who would watch the boomers was met by a nervous silence. The majority of the group who taught me the vault or learned it with me had somehow started leaning heavily on me and a couple of others. I still offer to coach people on the more mission critical roles when I do the raids, but am rarely if ever taken up on it. I haven't really had the same experience with PoE as I've hardly touched it. The effort seems to far outweigh the rewards without having to worry about the potential backpacking. Honestly, it just seems like lazy, uninspired and potentially frustrating content. I can do the fun parts of Destiny as a 32 quite comfortably, so see no reason to focre myself through it.

After trying to get someone thru the 35 last night, I agree.
-
2 RepliesI'm gonna be honest.. All I took from that was... You can't fly like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys Lmao!
