I have found a lot of people are concerned about Vestian Dynasty not doing much damage but I have a few reasons why I believe it will do more damage than most think.
Perks:
Some of the perks are fairly standard so I'll disregard them.
Disciplinarian: Deals bonus damage to Fallen
Reactive Reload: Reloading after a kill temporarily increases damage.
In addition it has:
Usurper: This weapon has a chance to suppress Fallen Captain abilities.
Performance Bonus which is simply- kills=ammo.
Considering it has Reactive Reload the damage is boosted by a fair bit and when you encounter Fallen the Disciplinarian perk will increase the damage output even more.
The weapon also deals Arc damage which will make it very useful when the Arc Burn modifier is on in PoE, Nightfalls or Weeklies.
The weapon will also be extremely effective in strikes such as: The Devils' Lair.
These are some of the reasons why I believe the weapon will do more damage than most people are expecting. Anyway we'll see in a few weeks.

1 ReplyI have a feeling that with the addition of the sidearm weapon type, the quick draw perk will actually have a good use now. If you get caught reloading you can just swap to your pistol in half a second and finish of a couple enemies you may have hurt. I can't wait to see the different set ups people could run within pve AND pvp

3 RepliesI'm hoping that it's just a special case like NLB and not a new weapon class. it's pretty redundant. doesn't add anything new. Hand cannons cover the distance this thing would and hand cannons are better. shotguns cover super close when caught mid reload. But it's whatever. As long as they don't start changing hand cannons based on this gun then I don't care.

I was never majorly fussed about pistols being added into the game, but I used to see lots of people asking for it on here so you can tot this up as another thing added into game that we asked for. Now seeing it working in the flesh I like the look of it, will be interesting to see how it fits into crucible (if at all with that low impact (yes I know it's a special not an AR blah blah blah)), but I'm going to need more vault space again...

Considering it's a special class item, I think it's kinda supposed to replace Fusion rifles as the mid range special item. Considering the Poe is mostly close to mid range fighting (sniping is possible but will be harder) this new weapon will offer the range of a fusion rifle without the charge time

I get the feeling it will only be decent in PoE and crucible since it seems like just a quick way to finish off the enemy if you get caught reloading. We shall see though.

I am really happy about this! Ever since my first shooter (Syphonfilter) when I was 4 my favourite kind of gun has been pistols and now they are in my favourite game! It's a legendary that deals elemental damage though, so chances are it will be hard to get, but I will not stop until I get it!

No, it doesn't. It's not a hand cannon. Stop trying to make it one. Maybe try not to suggest changing something you've never even used? Perhaps?

2 RepliesAnyone know wtf some of those perks are? I hope this bad boy comes with quick switching, if there's too long of a delay between switching weapons (given the high ROF/low DPS), it might be kind of an issue. Either way, still hyped to have this in my collection :3

8 RepliesI was exited when i first saw the leaked pics of it. After today, seeing the impact, mag. size and the fact that it goes in the special slot, i'm not so thrilled about it. I'll have to wait and try it out myself to really see if it is worth the special slot or if it is going to join necrochasm, universal remote and a few other weapons in my vault as a collection item.
