Basically saying if you consider yourself one of the best in PvP, do you consider yourself an elite in Destiny? (not committing to the PvE side of Destiny of course)
Discuss.

Yes but I consider myself elite because I'm good at pvp 2.21 Kd and also pve 100 + raid comps.
-
there are no top tier or elite players in destiny PVP. How do you define top tier or elite ? K/D ? means nothing. I have a 1.56 KD on my warlock which is top 10% and 1.8 on my hunter and I am garbage at PVP, horrible. Until there are LAN tournaments with no LAG and some type of competitive settings there is no way to say who the top tier players are. Destiny doesn't even have custom game types. Sure the guys near the top of the leader board are good at destiny PVP but stats can be manipulated and padded with pub stomping and game mode selection. Who is the best ? Lets have a LAN rumble competition and see. Best team ? Again setup a LAN tournament and we can find out who is "elite"

1 ReplyI'm probably the best of te best around here. Join my clan. "PVP Challenger Tier."

I used to play battlefield competitively, and I'll tell you one thing. There's no way you could consider yourself anything than maybe better than the avg player in pvp. The online play is a joke and there are so many inconsistencies. There's a reason it's not mlg
-
I enjoy playing crucible. I'm not great, not terrible, but I have a good time playing with my friends. If you can be elite at having a good time, that's us.
-
2 RepliesI'm a pvp and destiny God
-
as a former professional halo player, i can tell you that PvP doesn't mean shit in this game. if anything makes you good in destiny, it's PvE proficiency.
-
2 RepliesI would say elite is someone who has all three characters maxed, although max level isn't really special since TDB, doesn't use the easiest weapons in PvP, can walk through raids and teach both relics, and overall solid in every category. KDs are a hit or miss on this game, I have 2.0s in everything but control on my main PvPer, but it isn't really that hard to use cheap tactics against cheap tactics. I prefer running mida, PR or efrideets, and a Jolders hammer or HOC.

6 RepliesPvP takes more skill so yeah I would think so

Edited by Doctor Destiny: 5/14/2015 5:42:30 PMTo be a top tier Destiny player you need to be exceptional at both PvE and PvP. Although I do think PvP translates to PvE much better. I am a decent PvP player and when I go into a strike or a raid with a Lvl 32 Guardian that has every raid item possible, I am always the one that doesn't die and has over 100 more kills than him/her. Talking about elites is talking about skills, and great PvP players have those skills.
-
2 RepliesI would say that if you are elite in PVP chances are you also a highly-skilled PVE player. I think PVP skill translates to PVE. I am not sure it works the other way around.

One dies not simply call themselves good at crucible until you can top the leaderboard and go positive while using..... Wait for it.....
wait for it......

Necrochasm
10 RepliesI do I looked and I'm in the top 7% of crucible players, so I consider myself an elitist of destiny because I've learned skill in PvP you'd NEVER learn I PvE. Also I'm capable of doing raids and nightfalls (I've soloed a few so gg) but if you bring a raid team against a couple of ransoms in PvP I can pretty much guarantee you they will lose almost 100% of the time.
-
The only reason I PvP so much is I have no one to raid with. I usually solo nightfall or at least try to and I get what I can. Im definitely not a noob tho lols

1 ReplyEdited by Neutrill: 5/14/2015 6:37:30 PMThe elite players are those who have 3 characters (not 3 warlocks...) and those who play every aspect of the game. I consider myself apart of the PvE elite.
-
4 Repliesregular crucible with the high amount of random players that are worse than i am then yes i consider my elite in that scenario, sweaty 6v6s im good at best with the capability to suprise myself, mainly because i refuse to use last word and felwinters, the guns that are most commonly used by the top tier of players. why i dont use them is because they make the game too easy
-
3 RepliesI play to have fun and all though im considered "elite" i just consider myself as a player who enjoys the game with the people he meets. I go into nearly every pvp match knowing in going to be on top of the leaderboard and ocassionally get friend requests, but no one knows who i am when they play me and probably assume im as bad or as good as the rest of em. Elite is a term best kept away, especially since destiny doesnt have ranked or competitive pvp, ill stick to having fun as my goal instead of blowing up my ego with pointless classifications.
-
Yeah. But one well placed head shot and they run in here screaming nurf, nurf, nurf. Fragile egos I figure.

Edited by OutLaw49x: 3/28/2015 5:39:30 PMPffft. Are you kidding? The way self proclaimed elitist bitch about noobs killing them in pvp. Bitch PALEEEEEEEEZE
-
Yes. In my case for both pvp and pve.
-
I wouldn't say elite, but I think of myself as a player with a lot of experience.
-
What do you mean by elite. An elitist like someone who thinks they're the best and everyone else is trash or someone that is just high up in the leader boards?
-
if you ask me pve takes more skill simply because the guns are better balanced if you run up to a boss in pve with a shotgun chances are your gonna get whacked and yes i've seen hunters try this, if he was a titan atleast he would have a back up pve seems more strategic than pve because your simply not just shooting things you have to know where to stand and how enemies will react, yes i've ran with a shotgun in pvp, on anomaly it was funny i had 7k score and the enemy running around with a shotgun on the opposite team had 6400 (he may have killed me more times but i had a better score =3 and my team won in IB) if your in a team for pvp and your a good player chances are bad players will get a better k/d for playing with you since your communicating and they can tell you what's happening making you know the situation and better prepared, going solo with bad players is a kick in the teeth (i rather listen to music than players chatting so i normally solo crucible) but atleast you have a chance to pull your team to victory. in pve if your team is bad chances are it's gonna be a pain although people do tend to learn faster in pve but some people just can't be taught (like them self res warlocks, me "don't get killed you will cause an oversoul which will kill the team" warlock "i got self res what do i care" *warlock dies .....face palm*)
-
3 RepliesYep. If you're good at pvp chances are you're good at pve. Lol find me someone with a good W/L and high kd who sucks at raids. Dare you.
-
Why wouldn't they? If you are good at PvP in a game, you aren't branded a noob for not doing PvE.

8 RepliesEdited by TrueVanguard: 3/27/2015 1:24:26 PMI've spent a lot of time gaming with some of the best pvp'ers out there including Invigorate guys and Resolute guys and some major streamers and podcasters. Most of them are good people, and they don't act like they are "elite." But I think they all, myself included, do take a little sense of pride in being good at pvp. We all have our varying degrees of skill, but at the end of the day we should just be measuring against ourselves and seeing how we can continue to improve our game. If we are improving, then we should be proud of ourselves.
