It was Bungie's last gift to the online matchmaking world. I adored it, along with Halo 2 and 3...
The only reason I ask is because the Crucible is brutal enough to make me go back to it, just to get that rush again.
**edit** I thoroughly enjoyed the game. I thought it was a fitting way to bow out of the Halo saga. A prequel is hard to pull off, and at the end of the campaign when you're just fighting off certain death... that was sick. A far cry from Master Chief saving the day yet again.
The matchmaking was as good as any other also. It EVOLVED. Yeah bloom sucked a little and armor lock drove you insane, but adding sprint was huge. To be able to spawn and sprint to the area of the map you just died in and put one bullet in the guy you just lost an epic battle with was totally satisfying. I guess I'm saying I don't understand why Reach never gets the credit it deserves. And I don't understand why the Crucible seems like it was made by a different group of people entirely.

Loved all the games so no hate from me. Only thing I find odd is how it's suddenly everyone's favourite Halo...it was good but it wasn't THAT good.

Everyone ends up dieing:(

No chief

1 ReplyReach was good but far from the best. In my opinion, Halo 2 is the best, with Halo 3 coming in second and CE in third. Halo 2 was goddamned legendary.
-
2 RepliesI'm a Halo Loyalist and I liked Halo Reach...

2 RepliesArmour lock wasn't even that bad. You just had to not suck if you wanted to kill them.

Edited by Cheesy: 9/17/2015 7:58:43 AMI really really enjoy Reach, but it's definitely has its flaws; bloom, canon-breaking story, and paper-thin vehicles, for example. I think it fell short of being a "fitting way to bow out of the saga," but it certainly wasn't as much of a mess/disappointment IMO as Halo 4 was.

3 RepliesGuess they just weren't good enough to adapt.

People are dumbasses when the say Reach's custom games were "downgraded"

Halo: Reach is a fantastic video game. It was one of those GOTY contending titles of 2010. I think it got a bit of a bad rap because of Halo fatigue. They announced the thing before ODST even released. It came out only a year after the last Halo which was only two years after Halo 3. You get the sense Bungie really wanted to move on to a new IP and was forced into making their third Halo in a 36 month period. Interestingly enough Halo: Reach is far and away better than that new IP they moved on to.

I liked reach. Prob not more than 3, but the playlist were better. You could play infection anytime, team snipers and swat without playing the ranked list. I just liked how they did away with social and ranked and made it one

7 RepliesGo read the Fall of Reach then come back. That's why!

I have no idea. I love all Halo games (maybe not equally, but I still love them). The multiplayer was alright, but the campaign was absolutely amazing. #mostemotional

I didn't hate reach, I hated halo 4 tho
It EVOLVED
People are still pushing this? I thought it died off 2 weeks after launch when everyone realised that Reach MP was a total mess and basically just a shoddy testing ground for Destiny.
adding sprint was huge.
Hugely damaging to Halo's credibility and long-term popularity, correct. Sprint is the most game breaking mechanic that can be implemented in any competitive FPS. -blam!- Reach and the apologists who accept such bullcrap.
-
Prolly the stigma surrounding prequels.
-
Reach sucked... CE was best
-
I think Reach was ok. I loved firefight and the campaign, and ,if you take away armor abilities, the multiplayer is pretty fun.
-
Halo loyalists
Stop Many people didnt like halo reach becuase of everything it did wrong >bloom >dmr >paper vehicles >sword block >armor lock >matchmaking filled with forge maps >breaks canon >plot holes >bland characters(jorge was ok tho)

Bloom was god awful- added luck and randomness to previously competitive game. Armor abilities- armor lock... Jet packs rarely ever work well in games, it's too difficult to design a map that flows well with the added optional vertical element also. Sprint- lowered base movement speed so you could press a button and feel like you were moving faster. I think it actually slowed the game down and was stupid to add to the halo franchise No good ranking system- the arena was a total failure and there was no longer a shiny medal or number you were able to work and get better for to play against better and better competition. These were the big things for me that made it worse than the previous games

Halo 2 I still think had the best matchmaking and multiplayer I've ever experience in halo. Halo 3 was really good too. I didn't like odst, reach of 4 that much though.

Didn't feel right

They hated it because they are halo 2 fan boys and as soon as their asses get exposed to something new, they cry about it
