It was Bungie's last gift to the online matchmaking world. I adored it, along with Halo 2 and 3...
The only reason I ask is because the Crucible is brutal enough to make me go back to it, just to get that rush again.
**edit** I thoroughly enjoyed the game. I thought it was a fitting way to bow out of the Halo saga. A prequel is hard to pull off, and at the end of the campaign when you're just fighting off certain death... that was sick. A far cry from Master Chief saving the day yet again.
The matchmaking was as good as any other also. It EVOLVED. Yeah bloom sucked a little and armor lock drove you insane, but adding sprint was huge. To be able to spawn and sprint to the area of the map you just died in and put one bullet in the guy you just lost an epic battle with was totally satisfying. I guess I'm saying I don't understand why Reach never gets the credit it deserves. And I don't understand why the Crucible seems like it was made by a different group of people entirely.

I actually liked it, but the reason some people hated it is because it was different. The different subclasses meant an end to the completely level playing field that partially defined the first 3 halos. Halo 4 took it even further, and that's when it became too much for me.

Reach had sprint and those armor abilities so whats the big deal of everyone hating halo 4 and 343 makes no sense to me I enjoyed all Halos and they keep getting better and better in my opinion
-
Reach was awesome and all Halo fans who didn't love it didn't know what they were talking about

Edited by Reqsil: 9/22/2015 11:15:51 AMOne does not simply love halo but hate reach. Reach was easily one of the best halos. Extensive enough armor customization. And it was the dying breath of the playable elite. Sure it was changed from basic Halo but I was tired of watching the awkward friend zone love between chief and cortana.

I love Halo to the core, 1 2 3 ODST, they were good games in the franchise, but reach... Reach was -blam!-ing
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!
4 RepliesI could give you a huge list on how it sucks, but I'll just give a short summary for now. The campaign was absolutely awful, and the multiplayer was terribly unbalanced.
-
Retconned canon, bloom, armor lock, jetpack, bad maps, paper mache vehicles, DMR, sprint, sprint double beatdowns, no melee bleedthrough. Have you been living under a rock since 2010.

Because of Kat

Remember reach

Because they took it in a new direction to make it more "modern". But what that actually means is that they wanted it to be more like cod and other fps out there to bring in new players (which it didn't need). Halo was fine the way it was. But apart from that the other reason was that they implemented those abilities poorly. And before you ask I'm not a reach hater. You asked why people hated it and I simply answered.

I quite liked it

I love Reach, but that's probably because I played it for around 4 years straight. xD

3 RepliesEdited by bFLY: 9/20/2015 2:01:29 AMPeople hated Reach simply because it was the fashionable thing to do. Most people in this world are just sheep that follow the crowd and bash reach for no other reason except that they saw others bashing it. Nowadays its fashionable to love reach, so you see everyone loving it and asking for an anniversary edition. Go search forum posts from a couple years ago and they read much differently. I loved reach, I still play the mp which is the best mp in any halo (minus armor lock that shit is dumb lol). Not the best campaign, but still fun.

1 ReplyI liked it. But, like u, I don't understand why some people hate it.
-
I loved it, and I've been playing since Halo CE, I even liked Halo 4, they were just different than the older halos
-
I loved reach, it was the first halo I played. Not a huge fan of halo as you can tell, but reach got me reading into the lore... So I may go give the series a chance
-
I never hated it
-
Loved Reach from the first day to its last. Loved all the Halos.
-
I miss the reach days

Edited by ANABOLIC INO: 9/21/2015 5:11:56 PM1. Bloom 2. Armor lock 3. Sprint If you weren't on these forums around the time Reach was released, consider yourself lucky. This place used to consist of MEGA SHITSTORMS way worse than Destiny has even seen yet. The amount of threads trying to petition things was off the charts. Thats why they eventually made the Title Update removing magnum bloom, slowing firing rate, removing sprint, etc etc.

Reach has it's flaws but all in all it's a good halo game. Not the best. But a good one
in my opinion
2 RepliesTerrible story telling riddled with plot holes and canon breaking inconsistencies. Flat, boring characters. Dumb design choices like reticle bloom, armor lock and other armor abilities.
-
It's broke cannon so people wanted to kill bungie for it, while I hate bungie for destiny and saying f halo even tho it kinda made the corporate big wigs millionaires, it was still super fun to me I spent hours in forge world

8 RepliesI loved (Remember) Reach. Haloists(?) Say it broke Canon. How so?

I thought it was a great way of saying goodbye to halo. I loved it(halo 3 not so much)
