Change exotic trade in!! Comment on this if you think losing all of your hours upgrading your exotics is bullshit!!!!

Take this post to the top and let Bungie know people are pissed! Edit: After reading many of your posts I think it is clear that a large majority are outraged. I want to make it clear that I am not opposed to grinding out weapons in a new way, but rather I'm opposed to having a freshly found icebreaker be equal to a maxed icebreaker. My time should be worth something. Edit: The best solution that I have seen is to make it so only a fully upgraded weapon can be turned into xur. This would allow the reset to start at 302 and mean that I didn't waste my time. Edit: http://m.ign.com/articles/2014/12/04/destiny-players-unhappy-about-changes-to-exotic-weapons Edit: For those of you who don't know, Deej has mentioned us in the weekly update. Through all of the PR speak the message was clear. "We didn't think about your time spent, sorry, but we are not going to change our plans"

  • It's lame as hell. I hate leveling exotic weapons and now we have to do it twice for each one? come the hell on. maybe if we get some item from Xur that levels exotics faster that stacks with telemetrys, but as is, this is just gross to think about.

    • Id rather have them add a few nodes which take ages to level than let us start all over again... just feels better that way.

If the game had launched with 3 times the amount of Strikes and a deeper, longer campaign, I wouldn't mind so much, but I just can't face doing any of it any more as I've done it all, many, many times over and I'm beyond bored with all of the current content. There just wasn't enough content at launch to keep players happy until the DLC, that's why everything feels like such a grind, because it got boring and very repetitive. Having to pay for more content (which really should be free) and having to start over again, is a nightmare as I know the DLC will be the same thing, not enough content and another grind until the following DLC. Look at the Strikes Bungie, people aren't even killing anything any more, unless they have to and are simply running past enemies until they reach the boss at the end, guess why?? People are bored of them!!! At the end of the day, games are meant to be fun, not hard work and you're making Destiny boring. This game barely reached this upcoming DLC, if you want people to stick around for your ten year plan, then you must add more content to keep players busy and happy between DLC's.

The other option would be Bungie making a lot more new guns that would be able to hit above 300 damage. With our limited Vault space, is that something you want? You would have to upgrade an exotic either way. Bungie decided on the smart way of doing it. It is your own choice if you want to upgrade it again or stay with the 300 damage. If you do choose to upgrade again, you start at 300 damage and it takes less XP to upgrade!

Good shit Deej answered to dumb questions we already knew what he would say....instead of just telling us we did this for nothing he said no you didnt you will start with the same dmg. ok? But everyone who didnt leveled their wepon will be able to upgrade them and reach the same dmg than us( I think giving peoples what we work for is far away from the meaning of justice...) Yeah atleast give us an advantage.... Idk lower cost to upgrade or higher possibility of dmg even a shorter xp amount to file...that was not hard instead you make all those shards, energies, mat, xp and time put in the game everything we did or almost useless.. I think im done with this. I wish I could be refound, I dont want to suport dumb dev which doesn't listen to the fans. (proof, they release next patch note only 1 week before the release.) The players dont have anything to say, you just do what you want and act like you listen..and just by looking at destiny loots system or economy, I can tell you guys have no real MMO experience...after all Raid bug which took you 1month to fix a couple when they have been none for and post on your forum for the same amount of time. Even after this I was sticking with this game, most of my friends left, I was sure you guys were going in the right way but now I know you are not....(Limiting player activity by removing the rewards from them is an exemple of your philosophy) just like we saw with reach credit lemit.... Anyway Destiny have one of the best gameplay, raid are wait WAS awesome but yeah thats it, Dumb limit , worst loots system, no game mode in pvp(could add something like juggernaut in halo, like someone holding the sword of crota in pvp when you kill him it drop....), content on disc not accessible (we saw all those dlc 1 and 2 loot on destinydb first month of the game) but you sell all this has expansion....The only thing I can say you were working on is prob the raid. Dont tell me it take 1.5 month to fix exotic I could have done this shit even better in 1 hours just because I tryed all of them so I know what need to be done.. Unfortunately only few of you play it so thats the reason why it prob took that long... Destiny was alot of fun guys! Heard they are working on destiny 2...plz Bungie sell this to activision like you did with Halo by selling it to Microsoft. So Blizzard could work on this! Edit- I am not English sorry if my texte offended you with all those spelling mistakes.

I admit I was one of the nay sayers against the current exotic upgrade plan. I'm still not a fan but have accepted it in hopes that it eventually evolves to something more clever and unique to Destiny and Bungie's original stance that they want players to develop stories and relationships with their exotics of choice. Personally, I feel the next iteration of exotic upgrades should build upon player's current progress. That progress should not simply be reset and the player asked to relevel the exact same weapon/armor. This goes completely against Bungie's original stance that they want players to have a story behind exotic equipment. In an attempt to bolster Bungie's original vision and foster a true relationship between a player and his/her exotics, I feel a better upgrade option would allow each player to customly add upgrade options to their existing weapon/armor as each DLC drops. An example of this would be an instance where players take their fully leveled base level exotics to Xur and purchase weapon/armor cores for each specific exotic. Once purchased, this opens an additional modifier column on the weapon/armor by which a player chooses a single modifier from 3 possible options that -- in turn -- upgrades the weapon with whatever perk is selected in the column. This selection becomes fixed and each subsequent DLC allows a new upgrade column with new possible upgrades added to whatever the player currently has built on his/her exotics. This is just one idea but one that I feel is far closer to the original intent Bungie proposed in terms of players building actual stories and strong ties with their exotics of choice.

          • Yes, regardless of the fact that you can buy materials now.. I hate to think my hours of running circles around the Moon for helium filaments was for nothing. I've already stopped upgrading my exotics cuz.. whats the point if you gotta do it all over again.

            • So.. I've spent hours grinding my exotics up to max level, just to to turn them in with some new fancy upgrade nonsense AND 7k glimmer.. to lose all my time, when someone who just found theres and has spent NO time on it can automatically boost theres above mine? Yup going to go ahead and pull my pants back up, thanks for the -blam!- bungie. We love you too.

            • Maybe it's just me, but have you considered the thought that you shouldn't have wasted time upgrading weapons you're never going to use in the first place? I'm sorry if this comes off as being a jerk. I just don't get what all the fuss is about. We have the option to bring our favorite gear with us. Isn't that a good thing? Feel free to politely correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like the only incentive to upgrade every exotic you get is to just have them there in case some future update makes them a better choice than your current favorite.

Im fine with the reset, but only if a maxed exotic can be reset by xur. If u find a fresh exotic, then u have to level it to 300 and then go to xur to the reset.
