Change exotic trade in!! Comment on this if you think losing all of your hours upgrading your exotics is bullshit!!!!
Take this post to the top and let Bungie know people are pissed!
Edit: After reading many of your posts I think it is clear that a large majority are outraged. I want to make it clear that I am not opposed to grinding out weapons in a new way, but rather I'm opposed to having a freshly found icebreaker be equal to a maxed icebreaker. My time should be worth something.
Edit: The best solution that I have seen is to make it so only a fully upgraded weapon can be turned into xur. This would allow the reset to start at 302 and mean that I didn't waste my time.

Edit: For those of you who don't know, Deej has mentioned us in the weekly update. Through all of the PR speak the message was clear. "We didn't think about your time spent, sorry, but we are not going to change our plans"

1 ReplyBest solution make the reset not take away the exotics signature perks. Example: A thorn would need to be maxed out again after the reset, but even after the reset it would keep it's DoT perk.

Know what I did? Dissolved unleveled Gjallars to get exotic shards to max a leveled one with my newly bought relic iron from vendor. Know what I shoud have done? Dissolved maxed one to get TWO shards, wait for Xur to upgrade my unleveled Gjallarhorn (one of), and then level this one. -blam!- Bungie for PURPOSELY HOLDING IMPORTANT -blam!-ING INFORMATION.

You should be on your knees thanking bungie for allowing you the opportunity to make your current equipment upgradable in the upcoming DLC. Most games do not afford you the luxury of this, and end up finding yourself with completely worthless equipment with a new level cap with new gear available. Someone call the whambulance...

It would be better to have to just add like 3 damage/defense upgrade slots for free it's not right I have to pay to update and start over. The weapons perks will be the same in the end and we have spent a lot of time to max our weapons and armor. That would effectively help to mitigate the start over factor after each expansion. Or you can make it so the exotics automatically scale to the max when the update comes out because all of our legendary equipment we now have to replace and farm to upgrade and we are going to want to farm new exotics not have to start over on the ones we have done. Bungie you failed to think this through! ! Many better ways to go about exotic updating.

The new exotics will start at 300 atk so your not really resetting but upgrading it to the next lvl

I'm actually not mad at this. It will give me something to do...once I've ran the weekly's and nightfall and hard raid on all my characters there's nothing left to do for me. Most my weapons are maxed so bounties are useless. And all my characters classes are maxed

the point of levelling any gun is to make them stronger making you stronger making tougher enemies easier to face. that's why you level up guns, you're not forced to, you choose to, cause you wanted your gun to be stronger. you chose to spend the time to level it up, bungie didn't force you, so don't blame bungie that you spent time levelling them up. when knew content is added, enemies become more powerful, new gear is added to compete with the stonger enmies, you aquire these new weapons, and you do the same cycle again. as for your old gear, that's old content that has nothing to do with the new content, we're very lucky that bungie are enabling our old exotic stay useful. trade off, reset the progress, complete some bounties and its as good as golden. we're not babies that need to be fed gear cause we demand it.

Why not allow any weapon to be upgraded to maximum attack (whatever it happens to be). For example, I take a rare scout rifle that does 242. I can upgrade attack (+10) until I reach 300. Perks can be upgraded as usual. If a rare rifle has 3 perks, you can upgrade a perk or upgrade attack. Your choice. Of course, once your perks are upgraded the only choice you have is to upgrade attack (until it's maxed).

Granted the timing on the news could be better but at least I got a chance to keep my prefered weapons and (hopefully) armour. if we can't do it for armour, can someone please inform me? Edit: I believe I see the issue here now... it seems the reason as to why people are angry is because they choose to upgrade every single Exotic they got. Let me ask you this question: Are you going to use all of them at all? Because when it comes down to it you are just going to use three or four exotics for your characters. I for one choose which one I want to use after trying them out for a bit and stick with the one that feels better. So In truth I really only have two or three weapons upgraded, same for armour so I guess I'm not angry because of that.

You can A) Buy the new system outright (level up the new exotic) or B) trade it in for some lowly credit and pay the rest for the new system (level up old exotic.) A store won't simply give you the new system just cause you bought the previous one, even though you worked hard for your money. There is so such thing as a free thing in the real world so don't expect it from anyone else.

9 RepliesCasual gamer here. Play about 10 hours a week. I think it's a joke. They've alienated me, prior to this item was all I played, but now don't see the point. Started far cry 4. In a way it's kinda good, it's cured my addiction and means I'll play other stuff. This is about Activision squeezing as much cash out of our pockets as possible. Well screw them. Done vault so will consider that the end of the game.

It's not the exotics that annoys me it's the fact that the expansion pass is really becoming less and less as players who don't buy the pass still get a large chunk of the update anyway... I'm all for letting people get to 30 easier once the expansion is out...but letting them have all the guns/upgrades etc too...cmon. Basically all we have bought is a new raid and 2 strikes...

I do not want to waste my time upgrading my weapons/gear if I know they are going to artificially "expand" the game like this.....every time a DLC drops. F this crap. I might play this again when the rest of the DLC's drop so I'm not wasting my time doing the same things over and over. Horrible choice by Bungie. Maybe they will release a FULL game when Destiny 2 comes out. Bullshit.
