Not only do bigger textures and larger numbers of polys use up more processing power, but all it serves is the need for visual flair. Take GTA San Andreas for instance. The game didn't have the prettiest graphics but the gameplay by god made the game awesome. You could fly a plane off an airstrip, customize your car, fly around with a jetpack, even eat fast food and get fat. And what does GTA IV give us? Pretty visuals and online multiplayer. Or do you mean the forum? I was ranting about gamers in general.
