Halo 4 is better now
The new update makes the BR a contender against the DMR; it makes chainguns actually useful and it nerfs that disgusting boltshot.
It's fun again!

3 RepliesI like Halo 4, though it lacks Bungie quality, innovation and charm. The title update tried to balance all the weapons out, but, I feel now the suppressor is useless in almost every situation, only gun I think needs a little more tuning, like maybe a extremely minor effective range increase. And yes, the patch notes clearly state there was no change to the Boltshot, it is simply less viable of an option because of the automatic weapon's damage increase/range decrease. I still use the gun, but only when I need to kill huge groups of people point blank. Also, the Storm Rifle is not trash now. Quite honestly for me, the title update really gave all the precision and arguably automatic load out weapons more of a place. The Light Rifle is better anti sniper and mid range, the BR now handles mid and close better, and the DMR has a good place in the upper mid to longer range. And of course, the Carbine is good for all ranges, just not great for all ranges. Now the AR has mid to close range chance to contend with precision weapons, the Storm Rifle slaughters close to minor mid, and the Suppressor could be used for a Shotgun/Scatter/Sword counter, as I've seen it used with its new point blank basically range. The Magnum's minor damage increase helps it be more of a contender against the precision weapons, and it does considerably more damage to vehicles like the Pistol in Halo: Reach. And lastly, the SAW's damage increase surprisingly doesn't overpower everything else, the BR can contend. It does however, make its usefulness anti vehicle wise skyrocket, it's better at scaring away Banshees than the Sniper now. Of course this may not be the general opinion/effect of the weapons, but this is how I use the weapons new balance personally. I actually find myself using all the weapons now. Sorry if that was overboard, I just wanted to kind've clear that up a little. I don't agree with all the Halo 4 dislike I sometimes see, just to point that out.

Like i have nearly all of my forerunner weapons on their last stage but with action sack being "classic" now it is a lot more difficult to get cannon kills and the games are slowing,less fun,etc. not to mention while i have gotten use to the suppressor it still isn't as good as the boltshot in CQ which doesn't make sense to me. 343I doesn't need to copy bungie and have the same weapons but changed a bit for each faction(though it was done better in this game). The suppressor needs it's spread tightened and/or its range improved. My main issue with it is i know i could be getting more kills faster,easier, and with less damage taken using the boltshot instead of it. which isn't productive since i have that maxed out already. The level cap is an issue even though i haven't hit it yet.,the double XP crap honestly had people level 30 within the first 2 weeks if not month. Now if you aren't a level 30 you are slowly starting to become the minority as most people are at least within the 100s now even if they don't play much. They need to but it another hundred if not two in order to keep people interested in playing. In addition to adding more specializations. I have no clue why the hell the maps were put out so fast but i assume it is because we might be getting something else halo shortly or they just didn't have a clue. But again this is the first round so by the next game things should be a few times better in terms of MP.

Finally they have BTB objective but they need to implement more maps and game types.

This is almost perfect. They just need to nerf the boltshot and replace Infinity playlists with Throwdown playlists.

2 RepliesNo, because forge and customs are still terrible and whatever has been done to multiplayer is too little too late. Maybe if 343 did this sooner or during development more people would still play.
