So, I saw in a video that Xur will carry random roles of the Exotic Class Item and I was STOKED...until I found out you have to have already unlocked it via the completion of the Duality mission.
Well, as a solo player -blam!- to do this, since the Exotic Class Item was never billed as being behind such a gate, I'm still S.O.L. and very disappointed.
Guess I'll never be able to earn this Item.
Thanks, Bungo.

For some reason they want people to run that crappy mission and will not let up on it. I did it once on my three characters and will NOT be stepping in there again. To be honest, I have several “god” rolls and use NONE of them. These “exotic” class items are mid at best to me. The actual exotics are better in every way. The ONLY appeal is you can get a couple of exotic perks from other classes. And let’s face it, the ONLY one to chase is Star Eater for Warlocks and Titans. Everything else is meh at best. JMO

38 RepliesTo everyone saying "You only need to do it once", 1. Incorrect. It needs to be done on all classes. 2. It seems counterintuitive to defend a piece of content that required resources with " just do it once". You wouldn't defend dungeon and raid gear in the same way, because we all know you have to grind those activities. So I ask you, if this mission was the ONLY source for these items, would you still defend it?

1 ReplyEven if they did fix this egregious lapse in judgement, it doesn't take away the lies and deception Bungie has practiced in every single component of this DLC. They destroyed the QoL in 90% of the game. The current game director is just as bad as the previous two.

10 RepliesKeep the hate flowing on all these posts guys, you're doing a great job telling the last few remaining players this game isn't for them :) Currently just 45k playing in real time, yes including consoles, just 1.4k watching twitch & just 2 streamers doing trials. Games legit never been in a worse state & you all just keep shiitting on people. GGs

1 ReplyEdited by Ogma: Destroyer of Worlds: 8/23/2024 6:24:34 PMI don’t have any issue with it as it is and I have people I like to play with, but I get it. It absolutely should be attainable solo. It’s actually hurting the game now that it has been out for a while. There’s absolutely no benefit to it not being attainable solo. Yet we see all these people opposing it despite that it wouldn’t negatively affect them in any way. Great job people. Let’s give even less reasons for people to play. Now is a great time to needlessly be toxic gate keepers while the game is seeing very low player count, right after mass layoffs that leave most players not feeling good about the game’s future. Bungie, for the love of all that is decent let my fellow guardians that prefer to play solo get this exotic. Let them buy it from Xur for the first time with like 5 ciphers or something. It would be a grind but they’d do it. Just let them get it. This is so ridiculous.

2 RepliesEdited by Oculta: 8/20/2024 1:54:34 PMMy reaction to this as the same as you, disappointed, Bungie will never learn, this company is already dead and people who support this is also dead as a person, i'm so glad i dropped this game and switch to The Division 2, who's is more supportive of solo play, and the exotics is more easy to get.

1 ReplyThey want to force us into these codependent relationships with narcissistic players instead of letting us enjoy our peace alone. Getting spammed toxic messages or yelled at over a mic over pixels on my screen I did wrong

These posts keep appearing Solo players keep getting frustrated and many are probably quitting this franchise, we can see the direction this game is headed in and the comments sections here will probably still have "elites saying get Gud, stop whining losers, get a friend, in the time it took you to cry (offer feedback) you could have done mission by now (not true especially as people post hour long waits to find LFG and still fail), its an MMO (also not true), Its a multiplayer game (also not true, solo only dungeon triumphs stare back), etc etc" Tell me how do you think solo players will react to All those very "nice" (targeted harassment and bullying?) responses? will they buckle down & get item OR say " this inclusive community sucks, i'm frustrated and not being heard here, I will play other games" I know MY answer, I am playing other games, I log in once a month, see IF mission still locked, see if I want 1 red border and then play other games. I pop in here occasionally when I have few minutes of boredom, see solo players still posting feedback and being ignored, and leave a comment or two and leave. Time to spend my time and money on other games that respect me, sorry Bungie

25 RepliesEdited by Yosemite Sam: 8/20/2024 11:11:06 PMThe fact that solo gamers make up a good portion of the player base, and it has been this way for years, and how many gamers like to run what they can solo and that is a much larger portion of the player base. The change coming up just shows they are still pulling their nonsense with the player base as they always do. Community: Please make the exotic class items so solo gamers can acquire them solo. Bungie: We hear you loud and clear. We are gating it so solo gamers can't acquire them. Community: WTH! To even have the nerve to start the TWID by saying they "hear the community loud and clear" is dumbfounding. Then you have Bungie's' minions trying to justify their actions as they Always do even though it has never worked. The only thing they have done is just make this developer look worse than they already are. I have never seen any developer lie to themselves, if we tell them we hear them they will believe it. It's actually kind of scary to think that this is their thought process.

You can't get the exotic class item from Duality so start there lmao. And it's true. If you continue to gatekeep yourself due to not wanting to play with one other person, some of whom have volunteered to help you in the comments, then yes, you'll never earn it, and most importantly, it will be your fault.

Man yall -blam!- a lot

Might be a wild concept but u can just use lfg and run the mission.
Was never not advertised as being co-op only either, everybody just made that assumption. You know, Microcosm, an amazing exotic weapon, is also locked behind co-op only missions, yet I have seen exactly zero complaints about that. It is in exactly the same boat, though: no indication it was going to be an exotic locked behind co-op only. In fact, Microcosm is worse in a way, because you have to do not one, not two, but THREE co-op only missions, and you have to have at least one other person with you. Adding to that, it is a higher entry point power wise to be even able to get in than Dual Destiny is. Yet I've seen not one complaint about that. And definitely not from lack of looking. So what is the real gripe, really?

5 RepliesIf you're on Xbox, I'll do it with you

My advice: use discord lfg. Watch a few videos for mechanics and study fallout symbols a few times. I just completed it and I'm extremely average player.

This is the longest complaining about not being able to get something from one activity has gone on. Outside of maybe "the more you play, the more you don't get it" genius rng for some of the raid weapons and such.

Edited by Kildozer666: 8/21/2024 8:53:15 PMI promise you, you will always be disappointed in an online multiplayer co-op game if you’re trying to pretend it’s a solo player game in your head. But that’s not an issue with the game or game design. It’s a problem with the individual. It’s like being upset that your bowling ball isn’t good for playing basketball.

If that's a bridge too far for you that's entirely on you. If you want it that bad, go get it. The only thing stopping you, is you.

People like me will continue to make fun of you for not doing an extremely easy mission simply because you refuse to use your social skills to find someone who’d be more than happy to guide you through it. You could have taken the time to write your post to make an lfg listing requesting someone to help you for your first time. So anyways cry me a river

1 ReplyEdited by Ray: 8/21/2024 5:15:20 PMCry harder I’m a solo player and I farmed the hell out of the mission. You’re nobody special. Take the 20 mins to get it done.

1 ReplyHonestly I barely use the Exotic class item, they are fairly limiting since they need Prismatic and only has half the utility of the original Exotic perks. The only real use for them is to make end game activities easier to squeeze a bit more DPS out, it really isn't that big of a deal if you aren't doing those activities. Consider it "sour grapes" if it makes you feel better but it isn't as difficult as you may have heard, and with a good partner you should be able to clear it without a lot of hassle. As a mainly solo player myself, I can understand not wanting to do multiplayer content but there are so many things that you miss out on, like Raid Exotics and gear. Either accept that you aren't going to get something like Eyes of Tomorrow as a solo player or you can make friends or join a good clan. There are some bad apples in the mix but the majority of players are very helpful and understanding if you are clearly willing to learn.

2 RepliesI hate to say it, but it's up to you to reach out to others. I'm a mostly solo player who only completed one raid. I have some social anxiety. But I made a goal to be more outgoing and decided I would get the Transcendent Seal. I loaded up the in-game lfg and even made a couple of my own fireteam requests. First was GM excision, which I didn't use a mic for. Then came the co-op missions that required a lot of callouts and timing. But the two people I teamed up with were nice to talk to. Then came dual destiny. The first time was a fail, but the second time went really well. It was tricky at first as watching many videos on it and actually doing it are different things. I didn't know all the symbols, so I had to describe them. Some of the people I teamed up with actually helped me by telling me what the symbols were called. The time the mission gives you is actually very generous. And the 2 mini rhulks don't have a crazy amount of health. I'm willing to help you as it's a fun mission. Just PM me.

im a solo and i have done the mission like 8 times. dm me if you wanna get it done. its super fun and i hate hearing solos like myself saying they can't do it. you can
