Making the lost sectors require solo for exotics is just an easy way for bungie to make the path to getting an exotic harder without them having to put a whole bunch of extra effort in. It's not them saying "this game is for solo players". It just makes sense in that particular instance. They don't design things for solo to make solo players comfortable. You seem to have it confused. The majority of the time when they make things for solo, like dungeons or lost sectors, it's clearly with the intent to challenge the player. The point is, yes solo is possible and every now and then Bungie makes little adjustments to make solo more managable like legendary campaigns, but for the vast majority of the game, it is multiplayer focused. Right from day 1 of Destiny 1 being announced it was always about the multiplayer aspect. This is a multiplayer game. You can try your best to stay solo but at the end of the day, the game is supposed to be a multiplayer game. This is why bungie spent an entire year getting fireteam finder rolled out. They are well aware of the number of people thinking the game should be soloable. They have given those people the tool to enjoy the game. It's there and for the vast majority of content, you don't need a mic, you don't need text chat. You simply just need to LFG for people and hope they know what they're doing. I have LFG'd countless dungeons with no comms. Just every now and then they want to experiment with more communication heavy things. Nothing wrong with delving into raid like design philosophy. After all, lots of people enjoy it. You can't expect to have your preferences catered to 100% of the time. You already have 90% of content to enjoy without comms. Something to think about

You typed all that and missed my point entirely. I never said it's not a multi-player game, I never said the game should be entirely solo-able. I'm saying in this instance of an exotic armor requiring multi-player, the argument of it being a multi-player game doesn't apply simply because of the precedent bungie has set that all prior exotic armor has been attainable solo. It's understandable that solo players are upset at this given the fact that although the game is heavily focused on multi-player they've never once required it for exotic armor. I don't get why people want to gatekeep exotic armor all of a sudden. Allowing it to be attainable solo doesn't affect literally anyone in any way.
