I just wanna do strikes solo man, and do my pathfinders in peace.
My builds are really good, but I cant use them if someone has 1 million kills with sunshot and is eager edging from 1 section to the other forcing a "joining allies", removing my build synergy. It is super annoying to deal with speedrunners when its outside of your control.
My builds are really good, but I'm not able to share my kills with other people, which means I'm likely interrupting their fun/ their progress for their pathfinders.
The strike playlist is already atrocious because of all the battlegrounds diluting the mix. But i would have more fun 1000x over if i could just queue into strikes on my own.
Please add a selectable option to privately matchmake into the strike playlist thank you :)

6 RepliesWhy hate speed running when your getting 10min strikes done in 3-5mins, more the better right ?
-
3 RepliesWhere are the "it's a social game" - people now? Or that only applies when they want to keep a reward behind the social wall?
-
You can block matchmaking.
-
1 ReplyAn alternative solution might be to have teammates kills count towards your bounties etc. This way strikes remain the fun social activity they are whilst not being as tedious

Man I love eager edging! I'm pretty sure if you change the clock on consoles you can do it solo. On PC there is also a way to play alone... It would be a very empty boring world tho
-
1 ReplyOn Xbox sign into destiny on a different account and got to settings in game and change profile to yours. Everything solo after that

I've been asking for this for years! I'd love to just do strikes solo, and I have done it on occasion. It's some of the best fun I've had in Destiny in years! Unfortunately, many of the newer strikes aren't very solo friendly. Many encounters want specific objectives done that would be better and faster in a group, such as the vault doors in the seraph battlegrounds. There's also an immensely heavy, crippling, and (quite frankly) asinine over-reliance on boss invincibility phases in normal strikes which bog down the solo experience JUST enough to make it feel like a slog. I do agree with everything else though! It's no fun to play with a speedrunner. It's no fun to play with competent guardians. It's no fun to play with incompetent guardians. If you are a good player, then Vanguard strikes are just not that fun, and no, Bungie, it's almost solely due to forced matchmaking, NOT the difficulty. There's no reason for another difficulty increase again.

1 ReplyChange the date on your PS5. You will load into everything solo, even the Tower.
-
Bungie has a weird thing where they feel the need to force people play with other people. It's fine as an option, but freelance pvp and solo strikes should be an equal option to people who want to play solo.
-
I agree completely. Also I like some one the strikes and want to play the whole strike. A lot of the time I join into a mid match strike and miss half of the strike. Like sure, we want to complete quests and get loot faster, but also I do enjoy the gameplay and would like to play the gameplay part of the game

6 RepliesHow about... we just get rid of eager edging? It's not needed and serves more of an annoyance than anything. This is a shooter game in space, why are we trying to speed run or do parkour? I mean it's so pointless and takes enjoyment out of other players wanting to do things at their pace as you mentioned. It happens in raids and dungeons too, they nerfed titan skating in d1 so I'll gladly think they should take eager edging and well skating out 😤💁🏻♂️

2 RepliesBungie here. So you say you would « enjoy » solo strikes. We might have a problem with that, since joy and happiness are not things we strive for. If you want longer and more repetitive strikes, that we could do.
-
Your build doesn't sound very good
-
2 RepliesThe First Descendants equivalent of strikes can be played solo.
-
Sometimes I just like to be immersed in the strikes and have epic moments, it’s not always about the loot
-
14 RepliesIdk if it’s necessary, imo.

2 Repliesi used a trick back in the days where you go to strikes so the launch button shows, dont press launch. then u go to date settings, and put the date to a month or 2 backwards, save settings,go bck to destiny and press launch, that should put u in solo.
-
2 RepliesCouldn’t agree more!

4 RepliesCan you not go into a nightfall strike solo?
-
3 RepliesI think they know that the player base is actually quite small and if older players start doing solo strikes, beginners and casuals will suffer. They probably forgot that heroic strikes in Destiny 1 were originally without matchmaking.
-
1 ReplyRight after they make Dual Destiny soloable.

elitegtryin to work with whats left.. for now - old
They have heard this request countless times (I have made it countless times) and they doubled down against it this DLC.. their whole monetization strategy is based on you inviting your friends to make them more money. You can do both...what are they afraid of? -
Been wanting this since d1.
-
1 ReplyIs that plaguing strikes now? The last time I had a guy speedrun was like a month ago when I got matched with a streamer who I won't name if even that would count as name/ shame given the context.
-
Absolutely agree.

Bump 👍 Also, make any / all game achievements apply to all teammates regardless of which teammate scored the achievement. This ‘achievement’ refers to bounty / seal / triumph rewards. Especially in Gambit; and other mote-driven / kills-required rewards…where teammates are chasing ‘individual’ targets, often in direct opposition to their teammates. 😵💫 It’s not rocket science. 🤔 Ease springs! 🫡
