Awful change in my opinion. There are plenty of better ways to "breathe life" into these old systems. These were more worth doing in year 1 because they had a good chance to drop exotics, now you want us to do them again for glimmer? 10 mins of my time for 10k glimmer.........No thanks.

who needs to farm for glimmer, I have more planetary materials to last a lifetime and never have the need to farm glimmer ever now legendary shards, that's a topic for discussion
-
Yeah, that's pretty much a letdown. What a waste of time.
-
Lmao public events are literally the worst -blam!- ever. Same goes with Patrols. Talk about activities that literally have no meaning or contribute to your gameplay in any way. We already did this kinda bullshit with Season of the Arrivals and it was the worst.
-
1 ReplyCan't remember the last time.i willingly joined a public event. Sometimes you wander through them and get rewarded but no way am I farming them for glimmer. Of all the things for bungo to sort out, in game mats ain't one of them.
-
Let's Go!!!!! Need 9 to farm EDZ Heroic events, KWTD or Kick, checking stats
-
It’s just a quick way to get some glimmer and adds at least a little relevance to an archaic system. I don’t see what the big deal is.

3 RepliesEdited by Wanderer: 10/16/2022 1:02:57 AMYou are right there is better ways to breath life into the old game systems. I'd like to see public events, and patrols, increase the players' wanted level in the area. And then doing a heroic public event in that area has a chance to spawn a death squad or super world boss based on how high the players' wanted level is. Death squads could be like these guys. -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9tA0G6F_uA&t=24s

Edited by AendettV: 10/16/2022 1:40:15 PMExcept maybe the people asking for PEs to be more relevant... Edit: Just so everyone is aware, PEs used to drop exotics until people complained about it. Go figure... (Which was also a good pulse rifle back in the Forsaken days)

I Honestly and truly forgot these were in the game lol

Edited by Pistachio Bandit: 10/16/2022 11:52:34 AMSo you’re saying that this will be bigly huger than 2 tokens and a blue?
-
I’ll do them when I run low on glimmer next season. I’m sure there will be increases in other activities too. I used to farm them for exotics when D2 made them a normal drop lol.
-
1 Replywaaaahhhhhh i have to play more of the game
-
is a change for new players
-
Haven’t touch PE’s in years ! Just tedious ! C’mon bungo so many ways you could get glimmer 🤷🏼♂️
-
Edited by WormChi: 10/15/2022 11:49:51 PMThinking same thing. Do we think it’s better to stock up on planet mats now for glimmer now or just convert everything to shards? Also thinking ship and sparrows will be worth hoarding again. Or ya know just raise glimmer drops on everything.
-
After this many years they want people to grind public events without making any meaningful improvement to a bare bones activity. No procedurally generated elements, no random stuff in the events, no event alternates, no new events (save for WQ, the rest are as is). Shameful. They'll probably crap out a few champions into each event and pretend it's all badass now.
-
They mistakenly think that making every thing a grind will increase the amount of activities that players will take part in. As opposed to reality - where only the play all day streamers will be able to run 100 public events on Europa for 6 hours for 200 blues and showcasing “ new awesome gamebreaking build by sliding and emote farting”. Finally stopping myself, too much like a job now

This… 100%
-
First, they put a grind to acquiring exotics from boring and repetitive lost sectors. Now they want you to grind public events for glimmer?… Bwahahahahahaha!!!🤣 This game is becoming a pet shop. It knows exactly how to treat hamsters as pets. Game looks like it’s designed by veterinarians. Haha!🤣 Game Logic!

Edited by $hirtless Captain Kirk: 10/15/2022 6:46:13 AMI'll still skip them and move on about my business. A public event is too low tier for my time. I have much bigger fish to fry with my gameplay time. I'll just keep rainmakers popped and move through the natural progression I already do. Public events aren't a part of that. Public events are highly outdated. They were a really innovative idea in D1 and cool at first. Now they're basically a meme. They semi tried to make them something more with CoO and "two tokens and a blue," and that basically killed it. Even after the embarrassing stream back then, they made no changes and refuse to flesh them out more with meaningful incentives.
-
Don’t forget the blue gear reward
-
2 RepliesBut Bungie listens to what the community wants haha It's quite clear that they have no clue what people want. It would be better if Public Events had a chance at dropping High stat rolled armor or even a chance of an exotic drop at the end of it.. lol glimmer haha so out of touch
-
The day that I'll have to go to public events to farm glimmer is the last day I'll be playing Destiny...
