Getting rid of the crit bubble would bring back bosses like calus who just stand on a platform, rhulk with no div bubble would be the biggest middle finger to console players. Even taniks would be bad for console players

  • Those bosses would be harder but it's because their current health pools are designed around divinity being used. If they removed the divinity bubbled or reworked them they could buff precision weapons to be more worth using in those boss encounters and in the future design encounters around how easy it is to deal precision damage rather than assume that crits can always be hit, regardless of circumstance. I play on console and can assure you that hitting crits isn't impossible. I used to whisper on the final boss of GoS. It wasn't easy, but it was doable. Divinity bubble is a larger issue to the game as a whole since encounters are designed with it in mind so doing that content without a div bubble feels unnecessarily harder. It's the same issue brought up with the "Reckoning" activity. The game was designed around well of radiance and doing that content without it was unnaturally hard. They removed reckoning and slightly nerfed well of radiance, but content being designed around outliers is still a massive problem. So if they remove divinity's ability to crit bubble it would make current content a lot harder, but it could make future content more approachable without it. Removing it now and adding crit modifiers could hurt in the short term but in the long term it would require less teams to run divinity as a mandatory weapon.

  • Your not understanding, if a debuff Is taken into considering with a boss hp no boss could be one phased, and using the Gos boss is a perfect example of how bosses would be without div, stationary. Go use whisper and rhulk and let us know how that works for you lol

  • First off, the GoS isn't stationary. A lot of people think it is because they do the "one tether strat" that only gives like half the damage phase. Second off bosses are designed with debuffs in mind, but they aren't designed to not be one phase able in normal content. They can all be one phased in one way or another. Also whisper of the worm under performing is a result of it's damage being low and because it doesn't perform strongly against a melee opponent. Why the weapon has low-ish damage likely has to do with how easy it is to crit Rhulk with a divinity bubble. (Nearly his whole body becomes a crit). It removes the risk part of it's risk reward dynamic so it probably took a hit to damage as a result.

  • And what is normal content In your mind, other than contest mode everything is normal. If warpriest has 4 damage phases but you can kill him in one, the developers definitely are not taking debuffs into consideration when deciding his total hp. And that's just well with lasting impression and izzy, no wormgod, no star eaters

  • Normal content in terms of raids is content that isn't in contest mode and master raids.

  • So gos boss flying in the sky doesn't mean stationary. Okay. Lol Whisper and izzy had there time in the sun, so did xeno, so did rockets, and now are the current meta because or perks like firing line and viest stinger. Ammo economy is also in favor of linears, reeds regret holds 24 shots with 2 reserves on chest while whisper gets what 26? And in kingsfall and in vow the damage phase is long enough to use all your heavy and then some. Whisper can't compete with linears just because it auto loads with linears doing the same thing on a dice roll lol

  • Yeah the GoS boss goes flying, then it comes down during dps to go flying again. It's not all just stationary. Also this isn't about which weapon gets it's time in the sun, (ironic because people are talking about letting go of divinity's time in the sun and people are adamant against that) it's about divinity affecting boss design to the point where it is becoming necessary in day 1 raids.
