Trying to complete the first mission and it's crashed 3 times. The game freezes then closes shortly after. I validated files through Steam and they're all good, plus my drivers are up-to-date and everything.

1 ReplyFor what it's worth, I'm having the same issue. I haven't had crashes before this update, but I had several crashes earlier tonight. The screen would freeze and the game would eventually close. This didn't happen as part of the season mission, though. It happened for me twice in Crucible and once in a strike. There didn't seem to be any precipitating event in any of the crashes.

Having same issue here :-(

Having same issue here :-( Never ever had issues, but tried to play briefly on PC just before and it crashes barely once I get to a destination - screen locks up, sound is still there then just closes. No error code, nothing in Event Viewer or anything :-( GPU: 2080ti CPU: Ryzen 9 3900x RaM: 32GB Really hoping bungie fixes this - granted I don’t expect today and thankfully I am having no issue on PS5 - but prefer to be on PC

Same problem here. Just loaded the mission on the dreaming city and after killing the mobs on the first room before the hive wizard the game freezes and crashes
-
same when I start playing for about 10-30mintues or when I start a activity
-
Same, I've had about a half dozen crashes now today. They seem more frequent in the new activity, but I've also had them in the helm and the dreaming city.

1 ReplyEdited by Morakx: 8/24/2021 8:36:58 PM3 game freezes since the update so far for me followed by the game closing ~15 seconds after the freeze. Randomly once in the HELM, once in the dreaming city and once during the new seasonal activity. AMD Ryzen 3900x 12 core Nvidia RTX 2070 Super (Most recent driver) 32 GB Ram SSD 144 fps/hz cap Windows 10 x64 (Most recent BIOS aswell) No crashes whatsoever before todays update. EDIT: Apparently capping fps to 120 in the nvidia control panel fixes crashes, can't test that myself today but worth a try. Was at 144 fps/hertz myself.

I've had crashes during first mission. After clicking on helm to go there. And in the menu. All no error codes, games freezes for about 15 seconds then crashes to desktop R7 3700x 32gb ddr4 Evga rtx 3080ti Game on Ssd

My game has crashed 3 times so far since the update. Please look into this, ASAP!
-
My game keeps doing the same thing for anything I do while playing
-
I am having a similar issue though it seems to be in lost sectors for me, I did a different one just fine but when I did Excavation Site XII the first time I got outside and then it crashed, second time it crashed when I was still walking out just after killing the boss.
-
Same, first time crashed while fighting the ogre, now crashed just entering the first room.
-
Crashing during Gambit. I just want my pinnacles. D': Same system I've been playing on since launch: i7 7700k Radeon 580 8G 24G RAM Gigabyte Z series (But no CPU overclock) 700w PSU Hardwire ethernet.

10 RepliesHi there. Are you killing the boss quickly? What happens if you slowly kill the boss?
-
I was playing Crucible with friends for about 2 hours with no issues. Now I can't even load into a destination without it freezing and then returning to desktop
-
Same here. It has happened since the update, I can get up to about 20 minutes max before it crashes.
-
1 ReplyCrashing here too, freeze then closes. AMD Ryzen 3800x and gtx 3800
-
It's crashing on xbox series x as well

Yesterday was flawless except for some fps drops and like 1 crash, but today was a totally different beast. A lot more random fps drops and now crashing very frequently.

Edited by Maylos: 8/27/2021 1:46:00 AMSimilar issues for me. Basically every 3 - 5 minutes I crash to desktop now since season of the lost. First 4 - 5 hours were flawless. Curious is anyone else here seeing the following errors in Windows Event viewer too? Faulting application name: bad_module_info, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000 My specs are: CPU - Ryzen 9 5900x GPU - RTX 3080 RAM - 32 GB 3600MHz Storage - Destiny running on Samsung EVO 860 SATA SSD OS - Windows 10 Pro 64 bit 21H1 Edit Have done some more troubleshooting. Issue seems to be caused by PBO2 (precision boost override) curve optimization. I can have PBO on, set things like max boost and set temp target ect but as soon as any amount curve optimization is done Destiny crashes. This could be a conflict with my negative 0.1 CPU volt offset and PBO. (I'm trying to keep my system cooler and quieter) However this is stable in every other game I've played recently. Witcher 1, Witcher 2, Ascent, ESO, Divinity 2, Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Seems to be there is some instability with Destiny since SotL that only effects systems in very specific circumstances. All speculation as I'm not a software engineer or game dev. :) For anyone still having issues I'd be checking any CPU or GPU overclocks, undervolt or for Ryzen PBO settings. Even if you haven't set anything yourself MB manufacturers like ASUS often have some of these settings set to Auto by default!

I'm having the same problem too. I figured maybe the mission was bugged for users on certain hardware, so instead I loaded into the tower to try looking at eververse and it crashed there too. No errors, just freezes (sound still plays), and then closes.

Edited by AmiableChief: 8/29/2021 2:31:36 AMSame issue - running an older rig - i7-2600K and GTX 980. The game crashes for me at first launch when I'm in the menus e.g. going from Director to Seasons tab. The game will freeze and crash to desktop after 10 seconds of being frozen. Then when I launch it up again (2nd time) it works fine as if nothing was the problem. This has been happening since Season of the Lost. I validated game files yesterday after it crashed mid-way through a patrol near Winding Cove and the popup specifically said to validate game files. Came back successful, but this morning I launched the game again and it is back to crashing as I described above. Edit: I don’t know if Bungie fixed something but there was a 144 byte update waiting in steam which I installed and the problem has not recurred since. I’ll continue to keep an eye out for it. Edit 2: Quick update - so after installing the said 144 byte update from steam, the game has gone 2-3 days now without crashing to desktop. Seems like the issue was fixed.

Same, but my PC totally frozes, so i need to reset it everytime!
-
Also had this on the initial mission, then I was able to finish the quest line. But the game crashes now on a regular basis, especially in match made activities like Gambit or Crucible. First I get an error message like baboon or coconut, then it closes completely. Instant restart via steam is possible, though. Also have an older rig with a Ryzen 1600X and a GTX 1050 Ti.

Same issue here, RTX 2060, intel i7-8750 @ 2.2 GH, 16 GB DDR4
