Allow us to “Sunrise” weapons at a cost(Exotic cipher, ascendant shards or even silver)
What do you guys think? Even if the “Sunrise” was on a seasonal bases and we had to re-sunrise those weapons every season. Would be dope to atleast have the option to do so

I'm not sure how sunsetting weapons help in general. If it's to clean up space, it wouldnt work because the assets are still in the game. So what is the purpose of sunsetting?

8 RepliesEdited by Griever: 7/24/2021 3:02:28 AMNo, as much as I'd love to do that for my Redrix, Spare Rations, Blast Furnace, and maybe 1 or 2 other weapons, Bungie would then have to deal with the backlash from players who dismantled very good gear that can't be reclaimed. What could they do for those players? "We're sorry we tricked you into destroying your favorite items, have 1,000 Dust, and 3 Ascendant Shards, and an exotic item with low stats on us!" Edit: Another way to look at it, why play Trials for Messenger when you can "sunrise" Redrix? Why use Null Composure over Loaded Question? Why use Adored over Revoker?

3 RepliesNah, sunsetting was a good thing. Very few weapons were sunset that weren't broken or irrelevant anyway. If a weapon didn't fit into either of those categories, it has either been remade, reprised or will be reprised.

They would need to nerf them if they did bring back those weapons which would make a lot of people scream “BunGiE WhY ARe YoU NErFiNg OuR WeApOnS You ShOUld NeRF nOt BufF!!!!” In the forums because god forbid a nerf happens to the meta. [spoiler]it would be nice to have the old raids back though[/spoiler]

It could work, but not at the cost of silver though. It's not really worth it, at least not in my opinion.

I’m not 100% sure how I would feel about this (already dismantled weapons, unbalanced weapons, etc.) but if it has anything to do with eververse, then that’s an absolute no from me. It’s bad enough that it got to the place it is now, especially with transmog, but at least all of that is cosmetic. Weapons, and even armor to a degree, have an impact on actual gameplay. Even if there was a grind-based option in addition to silver, the answer is still a flat out no.

Terrible idea but i'd rather have this terrible idea than the infinite time waste Bungie pulled with introducing sunsetting in the first place by deleting everything because mountaintop was "too strong" lol
