While mistrust can still be justified some of the actions commited by humans on house of light and some of the FWC leaders messages are not justified.
First of all it is pointed out that the machine used to look into the future is not always accurate. So I really wouldn't use that agsint these fallen for crimes they may or may not commit. They have no control over what the machine might say.
Also calling mithrax a traitor doesn't make sense. He never betrayed us. But some of his actions such as killing humans should be condemned.
I believe that mithrax is an important asset. Perhaps he can move more fallen to house light. If we can get all or a significant amount of them to be allies, this will be very good.
We had a similar situation in another bungie game. Halo 3. With humanity and the elites. The covenant have hunted down humanity to near exintion. Their tactics were brutal and effective with many humans dying upon their swords, far more scary than the fallen. We eventually made allies with the elites in order to stop the prophet of truth from firing the halo rings and also to stop the flood. At the end when we won, lord hood spoke to the arbiter and stated that they were not fogiven but that they had his thanks. They shook hands. Without the elites help we probably wouldn't have won.
We can take a similar position with the house of light. Thank them but not forgive them. After the war is over they can go outside the sol system and rebuild their civilization. One of peace, not war.
I propose the following reforms be made.
Have every house of light fallen who killed or attacked civilians confess to their crimes on radio/TV. They will be protected and be granted a pardon. But they will be forbidden from talking or going near civilians. They will stay in botza ruins. If they attack or kill a civilian and the evidence is beyond a reasonable doubt they will be executed by a firing squad of police. If self defense then they'll be found innocent.
If a eliksni who hasn't attacked a person in the past and does so. They will be subject to docking per eliksni tradition. If mithrax refuses to do it then the accused will be sent in exile. The accused has a choice of the two.
Any civilian or figure who commits sabotage on house of light will be punished according to city law. Terrorism or mass killings will result in the death penalty. Murder of a eliksni will result in a prison time up to life.
The FWC leader will be able to speak. But any DIRECT call to violence will be investigated and prosecuted if evidence beyond a reasonable doubt is concluded.
These are my final thoughts.

8 RepliesWait, so if an eliksni assaults a human, immediate death penalty. But if a human murders an eliksni, thats only jail time? That is an insane double standard.

It would be great if this leads to new playable races.

Edited by Thywolf Thespian: 5/28/2021 7:16:14 AM"Oh hey I seen a large conflict in the city, centered around the House of light we welcomed in, I don't know what causes it" "Oh hey I'm going to start a coup to get rid of the fallen in the city, so I can stop the violence before it happens" I already see how this story is turning out, and it feels insulting that they cannot see where this path takes them. Anyways. You forget. The guardians and humans are not clean of their dealing with the Eliksni as well. One species heroes are the others villians. The guardians alone probably have slaughtered hundreds times over the population of the planet's humans, in Fallen alone. Acceptance of the house of light into the City of Light for their protection is a small step in closing the gap for peaceful relations. Right now is the period of trust. One must trust in the other to build a future for each other. We cannot condemn them without condemning ourselves. We guardians have killed entire houses. Slaughtered every leader then have had. We must see past the dark times we ourselves have risen out of, to work toward a new future, where war is not just waiting around the corner. There well always be violence, just as there are most likely criminals in the city of light. There is no need for forgiveness, but the past must die, or it well just lead to more of the same. WE have to treat the Eliksni as our own people, and not some scum lingering in a dark corner of the city. We all commiting warcrimes in Destiny. You cannot look at me and tell me you never killed a Dreg with a rocket launcher when all they had was a pistol. Hell, we all did strikes to destroy ether supplies. You pretty much just did the equivalent of invading a city with the sole purpose of burning down all the grocery stores, then patted ourselves on the back for doing a good job. Im not even sure if there is a level of the Geneva convention. That guardians probably haven't committed violations themselves at some point. You know, the laws we humans put in place for ethical warfare. Just because the Eliksni are not part of it, doesn't mean that the rules don't still apply to us We cannot make special cases based on what species you are. Unless you are awoken. Go back to your reef, smelly awoken. Look, okay, there is only one way this is going. Season 16. Civil War. Player Base is now split between those who defend all under the traveler, and the Xenophobs. All PvE areas are now PvP, between the two factions. The city of light is split between two different towers. The Vanguard, and The Cult, crucible matches are no longer games and practice.

2 RepliesEdited by IronJak24: 5/27/2021 7:12:58 AMWell I agree on most things you said but you got a little brutal with the punishments. Maybe it’s because I only joined in Arrivals but I think we should be more forgiving to the Eliksni. It’s not that I don’t know about the horrific actions they did in the past, I just think that since they are really trying to change we should encourage that instead of basically holding a gun to their head and saying PLAY NICE.

1 ReplyI liked the Halo reference. Playing the Halo series and seeing how the Elites became our allies was really awesome. My view on the whole FWC topic is that Savathún is probably manipulating Lakshmi-2. Either that, or Lakshmi is just a jerk. If Saint-friccin-14 and Mithrax can come to terms with the necessity of the situation, then there’s no reason the City can’t be led to the same acceptance. Sure, the Fallen did some terrible things, but so have humans AND guardians. Everyone in the D2 universe right now thinks the end is nigh due to the pyramids arriving. We only stand a chance if we stand together.

5 RepliesShe’s just playing to her character. FWC are paranoid, DO are fatalists, NM are nationalists... they’re all just playing to type. I wouldn’t take it too seriously. Definitely not this seriously.

Edited by ZeroCool: 5/27/2021 9:04:37 PMNo. Integration is key. I foresee a Human-Eliksni-Cabal alliance via Avengers EndGame style in some future DLC drop. Bungie has been slowly building up this theme of former enemies now allies. It started with the Cabal, then Fallen. Think for a moment about that. Both Species aren't servants of the darkness, like the Hive, rather, an entire thriving race all on their own. The Cabal have never known the Light, instead, forging a powerful interstellar empire all on their own, a tremendous feat in itself, a species able to survive this dangerous cosmos for so long is a testament of the will and power of the Cabal. The Eliknis, on the other hand, have experienced the Light. It brought a Golden age that saw their species expand beyond their solar system, becoming a vast interstellar power with the aid of the Travelers light. Both species experienced great destruction. The Cabal at the power of the Witch Queens influence bringing death to their homeworld via Hive, losing EVERYTHING. The Eliknis's fate was sealed the moment the Traveler arrived. As we all now know, the Traveler arrives at a system and advances the civilization there then leaves, either by design or fleeing its ancient enemy. In this case, the Traveler abandoned them upon detecting the Dark Fleet, leaving the species to fight "The Whirlwind" all on their own, to which they lost EVERYTHING. Despite all that, all paths lead to Sol. As if it were Destiny, both the Cabal and now Fallen have found themselves in this distant solar system, among a small, but fledging group of warriors wielding the Light and obtaining impossible victories over their enemies, from the smallest grunt to their greatest Gods, the Guardians. I think Zavala will take charge and really appeal to the People of the last city and how we must welcome the Eliknis. If you have read any of the recent lore, there is a tab for Caital and Zavala, she pretty much says, Lakshima is underming you. All in all, peaceful integration. Maybe a battle comes to the Last City and it's the Eliksni who end up saving the day, resulting in Mithrax getting killed, then revived by a Ghost, becoming the first Guardian Eliksni 😉

1 Replyi've had my fill of this social commentary angle with Fallen & Saint & FWC. i play this game to get a break from real world politics (i was born in Northern Ireland in 1973 & i've lived thru a civil war that lasted almost 40 years) this insistence on blurring the lines between good & bad is not welcome. there's enough tragedy & nuance in the world. i liked Destiny cos it was >pew pew shoot baddys, save planet - we the good guys' now? we have all this >nuance of war & suffering< stuffed into our face. if i roll my eyes anymore they'll fall out the back of my frakkin head..

3 RepliesThe Fallen have never been our enemies, they're just scavenging refugees trying to survive since the Whirlwind. Guardians solve every issue with 'shoot first, ask questions second' (kinda like Americans) and forced the Fallen to fight to survive. If we stopped shooting at everything that moved, maybe we'd have more allies. Hot take: Guardians (and Light) are actually the bad guys and 'Darkness' is/has always been good. Reliance on an omnipotent being always causes uneccessary conflict through conquering others, and abandoning the Traveller is the best way to save humanity.
