Being able to hip fire with no downsides whilst getting rewarded with 150rpm fire rate, scout rifle range capability and a forgiving + fast TTK is pretty absurd. I would understand if the catalyst was being utilised at only close ranges but it is literally being used in all ranges of engagement. Nobody is aiming down sights with this gun anymore and that is clearly not the way this was intended to be.
It is already better than 120 rpm hand cannons and when they get the chop oh boy is crucible going to be littered with this scout.

I agree to an extent. The most glaring issue of this gun is that the gun retains the range of 70 meters even where you not ADSing. The gun just needs to have its range chopped when aiming significantly so if you wanna hip-fire, you have to do it at close-mid range engagements. Also as to mention, this is much stronger on an MnK input because of the fine tune aiming. Its not bad on console, but Last Word is better and much easier to use(although this gun is kind of bot like too ngl)and the hitbox for DMT is nowhere near as large on a controller input as MnK.

I... Agree to the extent that it makes Dead Man's a gun without downside beyond In-air accuracy for anyone good at hip-firing. Since while you lose to the close range primaries where they're good, after they fall off, there isn't much realistically challenging you. I'd just change the "no penalty" hip fire to giving it Hip-fire grip with that bloom kicking in after ~3 shots like the other HFG Scouts and see where it's at. Although I do prefer facing it because it's still got more downside than a 120 because of pitifully low bodyshot damage meaning you have to hit 2+ heads to be good.

1 Replythe ttk is the same of a 150 scout, you just can make one bodyshot, not a problem,

8 RepliesEdited by jonpall: 4/15/2021 9:59:14 AMGun requires 0 aim and has a faster time to kill than 140 hcs without even needing to hit all headshots, how anyone can defend it is well beyond me. If it behaved in the exact same way but was classified as a hand cannon people would be going into shock over how strong it is, but because it's a scout rifle it's fine according to most of these replies. This game has a generally low skillgap as is but it gets smaller with every update and the community enjoys it. Genuinely mind blowing Edit: I got the catalyst today and used it for the first time in a private match with my friend and managed to pull off this little demonstration. https://streamable.com/i5k7f4 First and last time using the gun, literally is nothing but yet another brain dead easy thing for bad players to use so that they can do well in crucible. People exaggerate a lot about things taking no skill but there is genuinely nothing to it when it comes to this gun, especially on controller where the already huge hitbox is even bigger

No hip-fire penalty Increased rof on hip fire I'm 100% sure it was intended to be this way.
