I got banned quite suddenly but I dont believe I violated any rules. Is there a way to know exact reason for ban or to discuss it? Send an appeal?

2 RepliesI'm sure others will reply with the standard Bungie response text - but essentially anything that can mess with the D2 code will cause you to be banned. Bans are permanent and are rarely if ever overturned. Bungie does not ban without investigation (from what I've read) and normally gives you no information on why you were banned. Your only option is to start a new account and repurchase the game - but if you don't know why you were banned in the first place, it's likely it will happen again on PC. These bans are almost always on PC. You have to be very careful to not have anything else running while D2 is in use. Again, from what I've read it can even be a virus or malware on your PC that you don't even know is there that causes the ban. My advice if you really want to keep playing D2 - get a cheap used console. You haven't been playing long based on your stats, so you don't have a huge investment of time to make up for. You can play First Light for free or re-purchase the full version for the platform of your choice.

When you don’t believe you violated any rules, you probably violated the rules...

You -blam!-ing know what you did. You’re just hoping to figure out which specific thing out of the many got you caught.

3 RepliesTypically, pc bans are due to software detected by Destiny 2 while running. These include but not limited to, trainers, aimbots, auto-fire, mods, graphics hacks, anything that injects code into games, debuggers for programing, even some viruses. any of these could cause a ban, even if not destiny 2 specific. There has also been an increase in bans due to Network Manipulation. These are usually caused by you or a member of your pre-made fireteam doing something... less than honorable behind the scenes of your matches. If it was not you, then it was a member of your team and Bungie has no real way to determine how much or little you knew about the player who was doing it, but it should have been obvious is that something fishy was going on. One of the biggest indicators of network manipulation and the largest red flag to bail out of your team is when your enemy loses 1 or more players in numerous matches. This is the alarm to save your account and bail out of the team Since Bans are manually reviewed before being placed, the actual cause of the ban could have been any play session over the past few weeks. Account restrictions and bans are only done in extreme cases; if actions were taken against your account, then it was with reason. There are NO options to dispute or overturn account restrictions or bans. Bans are lifetime for that account bans and restrictions policy page *I am not a Bungie representative, just a player trying to give the answers that are available.

Script injectors targeting other games can be detected by Destiny2 and trigger a lifetime ban, so if you had any mods loaded for any other games, then there is your root cause. Unfortunately your D2 account cannot be saved. Suggestion -- remove any 3rd party game mods if you plan to start a new Destiny account.
