Who, on the Bungie dev team, decided that Prime Engrams should NO LONGER be useful at 950???
SO what...we basically have 2-3 methods PER WEEK to increase our Light Level past 950...??? How does that even remotely make sense? A tiny bit of bad RNG and (which has happened twice to me already...) and you aren't leveling up past 950 in any fashionably quick method.
Plain and simple, there just isn't enough "Pinnacle" rated content to level past 950 reliably before the season ends. Iron Banner has been the "best" way so far....which means - in other words - we are literally FORCED into Iron Banner every time it's available (a PvP game-mode that many hate even more than Comp) just so that we can hope that RNG is on our side with the Pinnacle drops offered there. Because, there really is no other "great" way for these drops.
I think this is foolish.
Prime Engram droprates are NOT high enough that allowing them to grant +1 like Pinnacle Drops after 950 would be game-breaking in any way. It would simply give us another, albeit random, resource for attempting to make that climb from 950 to 960.
Really Bungie - give Prime Engrams a purpose again. Hell, Exotic Engrams as well should be dropping at +1. Making this a thing for both of these sources would still mean our grind from 950 to 960 is a long and arduous one...but it wouldn't be "quite" as rough, which would be nice.
EDIT: I'm going to make a quick amendment to my original idea on Prime Engrams - and that would be to have the "increased chances at Prime Engram" buff removed after 950. This way, they are not dropping at any increased rates, HOWEVER, when they do drop you are rewarded a +1 item. I could get behind something like that.

Edited by wookiee: 11/16/2019 9:21:21 PMi played a while ago for a good 10 hours playing public events strikes and lost sectors, in that time i got 10 prime engrams all at 950 power, my character is 950 total power, decypting them gave noting of use, i find the pinicle grind very hard even after bungie incresed the drop from +1 to +2, i'm a mainly solo player, i have tried many pinicle activites and have always found it extremily difficult, i managed to do a 100k nf run but only after 15 attempts, right now i have izanagis burden at 952 and a machine gun at 952, but in all honesty after so much effort i really cant be bothered to do any other pinicle activities, for me they are simply too hard :( please bungie have another look at the power grind edit just played the new nf strike the ordeal, pyridium and i have to say its one of the hardest nf i've attempted the modifiers plus overload and barrier champions are ridicuosly hard, luckly my team mates seem to be ok but none of my weapons do jak shit against any emeny type, i'm trying to do the 100k run for my 3rd pinicle gear but the best i've managed was 87k and that was a real struggle i havent come anywere close to that again, its almost as the ai learn your moves and hit you ten times harder to make sure you slip up and ruin a 100k run. i littery have noting else in the game to do but pinnicle activites but hell they are simply too hard and i hate being carried by others, i want to contribute something to the activity and right now i cant

At the very least exotic drops should be at higher power than 950 once you’ve reached the 950 cap.
-
Or at least give high stat rolls at 950. Because otherwise they are completely pointless
-
2 RepliesI dont really agree with this. Pinnacle gear should only be for the people willing to work for it. That being said I've gotten two kinetics, two energy, and two chest pieces all at 951. The RNG is really rough and since it takes so long the game should prioritize slots that are underleveled.
-
Yeah primes seem a bit pointless now i'm 950, with Pinnacle rewards becoming +2 next week they might as well have Primes as +1 Otherwise it's pointless going to Master Rahool, do i really need another Edge Transit?
-
3 RepliesI do not agree. I agree with Pinnacle rewards only. I dont want to be board in two weeks
-
I’m totally agreed with you..we all are stuck..at 960-965.. nothing is dropping more than 950 and if you want higher gear you must do the activities with pinnacle rewards but mostly all them require 980 power.. except maybe the nightfall.. then how we can reach 980 if we can’t even do theses activities?.. we are just getting tired of grinding with no results.. and eventually we all are going to end up moving on to another game.. so Bungie needs to rework their rewards system .. otherwise they are going to kill destiny 2 😏
-
3 RepliesThis. I've not even cashed in my Primes as I know next week there'll be a bounty on the Barge for redeeming 3 of them. Not that those give you anything now, even for all 4 in a week. 3 of us in our clan managed Phogoth Nightmare at 980 at our levels of 959-961. I got a Titan mark at 951. Got destroyed on the other 2 attempts and weren't even going to attempt Savathun at 980. We're trying again this week but 1 or 2 pieces of gear per week at 951? Is it worth it? Especially when you just know RNG will give you duplicates. Stopped doing all the other 'powerful' rewards because I've got loads of gear now at 950. Apart from infusing old gear for my other 2 characters it's just not worth it.
-
2 RepliesJust turn them into Eververse ones after you hit 950.
-
3 RepliesEverything after 950 is pointless if you dont have a readily available fireteam.. So EVERYTHING breaks down to shards and glimmer. My Destiny experience has turned into grinding BOUNTIES for false progression that we will lose. All that effort is for NOTHING. It's completely empty, devoid of any real substance.
-
Yup, they should give +1 but should be more rare. IE make them drop less when at the 950+ mark but have them be worth while. Even if they dropped 5 to 10 times less, they at least wouldn't be useless and would give the solo guys another way to rank up.
-
Once again, lets hope the TWAB will mention that they are aware of this feedback and are looking into it or they're already in the process of a solution. Because this stuff is getting stale and boring.
-
1 ReplyAt this point i am just deleting prime engrams. Like what am i gonna do another 950 go figure?
-
8 RepliesGot to 952 armor/wep score. Excited to get some 953’s, i jumped into raid. 4 953 energy weps. I think im done trying. 300k xp from 972. Will hit that tonight and end my chase. Its just not fun.

Edited by Monkey: 11/1/2019 12:17:48 AM85% of the stuff in this game is totally useless when it comes to trying to power up when you have hit 950 They love to make it difficult for people lol

If the drop rate is decreased after 950. I have had loads of those. Exotics? YES. For sure yes. Exotics are rare at best. They should drop +1 for sure for sure.
-
Just remove pinnacle engrams. The artifact grinds is enough.
-
They just increased pinnacle(to +2 after 4) but prime and random world exotic should always drop +1, I really do not want to get + 28 or 29 from power levels from exp, just to remove the penalty's from 980 stuff.
-
2 RepliesSolo pinnacle nearly impossible.
-
YES. THIS!
-
3 RepliesIf you get your level higher they do drop at 951
-
2 RepliesI personally like how difficult it is. I like the idea that I'm slowly making progress
-
At 1+ it still going to make prime engrams useless ... it needs to be at least 3+ or its not even worth the time grinding
-
5 RepliesHere's how I look at it. 950-960 is the last power level climb you'll ever really need to work at in Destiny. My understanding is that there is no plan to raise the 960 cap, and the grind will be all about the Artifact's power level. That being said, worst case is someone will be 10 points higher than me at the beginning of any given season - that's not much. So really, while I was frustrated with it at first, I now look at it as not really that big a deal, and I'm ok with using the few options available to gain that 10 points over time, instead of 2 weeks after the release.

I got the powerful engram from the halloween weekly that dropped at 951?

Had 9 after 2-3 sessions in just ready to decrypt, dismantled the lot.nothing of value.
