I am SICK TO DEATH of being told how to play/what gear to use.
I play middle-tree Striker Titan, I use Bygones, IKELOS shotgun and Thunderlord. I run Year-One Iron Banner armor with the Armamentarium.
That's what I LIKE!
I DON'T WANT TO USE SMGs AND FUSION RIFLES.

And you people have the AUDACITY TO LOCK IRON BANNER ENGRAMS BEHIND QUEST STEPS WHICH FORCE ME TO USE CRAP THAT I DON'T LIKE/WANT.

It's gonna be a beautiful blamming day when you stop catering EXCLUSIVELY to the vocal minority of players who want everything to be a long, drawn-out tedious mind-numbing grindfest.

Straight up. It's a video game. Let us play how we want. I would literally play this game non stop and probably buy stuff from eververse if I didn't feel like I had to grind 40 hours a week.

Bottom tree striker here, just stopped by to 100 PERCENT AGREE. All I want to do is punch those damn hoppy hunters and what do i get ... Shotguned from a mile away with a max range pellet pelter. You know what? I don't need your iron boner armor, I got worm gods and tangled web. c-ya in a crater (after I one hit you with 5x burning fist, knockout, and one two punch.)

The worst part is, with the terrible balance combined with awful community, everyone will use the same 4 guns for those quests. Mostly because they are already "meta" weapons...

I’m kind in the same boat as you are and I used those weapons because I had to. Yeah I got a little frustrated but I did finish the bounty. It got me a full set of armor but it was under the light level I already was so honestly it wasn’t even worth it. Just play how you want and have fun!

No problem with you playing the way you play. Wanna play like a “dad.” Go for it I have no problem. Wanna use a barely ever used gun and get good with? Have fun and good luck. Want some new loot by doing a specific quest to get it? Do the quest to get and earn it like everyone else. If you don’t want the gear then don’t get it. Only problem I have with the IB is that engrams are locked behind the quest.

I don't like crucible but I feel the same way. This game is my down time when I play. Shit feels like a chore. I'm sick of all the nerfing Shit too. I want to play and just blow Shit up.

Agreed! I don’t like to play PVP as is so they force you play like 40 matches just to have a right to cash in tokens. Playing 40 Matches for PVE guy is insanity. Make IB great again....bring IIB like it was in D1. Come in, play some, upgrade some power with drops and some sweet guns, where is my Morning Star scout? I guess it was too easy for tryhards. You won!!!! Happy?

10 RepliesNewsflash, kid, you don't need the Iron banner stuff anyway. If you aren't willing to expand your horizons and go out of your comfort zone for gear, then you simply don't deserve that gear. There's a limit to how far this goes to, but if you absolutely refuse to use SMG's and Fusions, it's not their problem. You're locking yourself out by your unwillingness to use other things.

This right here is exactly why I no longer level three characters, and no longer play Destiny content outside of the main story quests which even now I'm thinking of dropping. Wanna level 3 characters? Hope you have no job and enjoy a repetitive grindfest! Wanna collect all the exotics? I hope you enjoy tedious fetchquests, highly specific and poorly worded quest steps and forced PvP! Want some Lore? Well you sure as shit can't have it in the story, but we have thousands of tedious and rng dependant entries for you to collect! Wanna raid? Well it's still doable, but we're slowly encroaching on full MMO levels of time committent and if you wanted cosmetics, tough shit they're eververse content now! Wanna use your cool armour from tedious questline No.2943? Well enjoy wasting countless hard to find resources keeping it infused! Destiny was marketed and sold as an MMOlite, right now I could invest the same amount of time into almost any full-fat MMO on the market (other than some niche korean titles) and make more progress than in Destiny 2 but I suppose now that the game has gone free2play and is selling $20 boosters to the light cap, we should expect free2play levels of grind and tedium designed to push us into microtransactions. If Destiny isn't done yet it soon will be, it'll suffer the same fate as every other game that switched to free2play, a slow decent into money grabbing at an ever dwindling playerbase, a collapse into that dreary space that only mobile games seem to flourish in.

Rough talk but I kinda agree with you. I'm onloy doing 1 character and the other two I'll just leave them be. I can't be asked to play guns that I do not like.

3 RepliesI am in disagreement, but I'd like to see what you've missed in this post: What you would do to fix it. Having weapon-specific kills will always annoy someone. Having no weapon-related steps makes questlines too limiting. Should an energy ammo weapon progress the same as a primary? Just some questions I'd like to throw out.
