Yep. This is the ultimate game breaker. Bungie devs are insane asshats.
They do the same shit with every itteration of the economy.
With Taken King the infusion took dozens of pieces of armour to only increase the lightlevel for some meager number of points. When you came near the max, the process slowed, because that's how math works.
I am not sure if it is real incompetence or malice.
I am not sure if it is real incompetence or malice.
If it's been happening this long, it's malice.

Just stop you could get within 20 points of the max cap just by blue drops. The grind was not bad at all. People are just dumb and decide to use all of their materials when they haven’t even hit the soft cap
-
Pretty sure the old infusion system was that is transferred 80% of the LL into the item you were powering up. That's why it had diminishing returns.
-
Definitely a touch of malice.

I see what you did there. XD

Now that I think about it taken King infusing wasn't all that bad it didn't really affect me

And then I think it wasn't until the April Update that they changed it to where it is now. That was truly awful.

It's either bewildering incompetence or deliberate malice. Which one of those is more concerning, both for Bungie as a company and whatever person is ultimately making these decisions, is the real question.

It's greed. Expect a macro-transactions for masterworking armour.
