5 years of loving, hating and wanting to love this game.
I was invited along to the Alpha, over 5 years ago. I was in awe, what an amazing game this will be.
The Destiny franchise was amazing and I was so happy to be part of it, the game grew and became incredible.
Then Destiny 2 was released, seemingly by an entirely different studio. We lost our vaults and our powers due to lack of ideas for new content. "Let's take everything away and trickle feed it back".
Then slowly we start to get our power back.. little by little. All of a sudden some ridiculous decisions are made and we are stripped of that power again instead of using creativity to combat our power.
There is so much wrong with the game after this long and it's very clear that every decision made is a financial one.
PvP will get worse, we see today the fine Bungie team were matched against an account recov. There are still too many ways to cheat within PvP without conviction. The entire system still runs on P2P networking(~1997 tech)
There are many reasons for this decision. All of which come from stupid decisions made with this game. Bungie started dying when it was bought out by Microsoft almost 20 years ago and the final nail in the coffin was removing a largely influential figure from a lead role prior to the release of Destiny 5 years ago. I won't name drop as undoubtedly the forum ninjas won't want this person mentioned.
It should have been clear back then when what was projected to be a huge release, was cut up into tiny DLC's to be sold over time for extra profit.
RIP Bungie.
P.S. Had to make a new titan so i could delete all 3 characters and uninstall the game.
Thanks for the memories.

People have been agreeing with you, roughly 14.75 million to be exact. I am going to see how this year pans out, but if the few remaining friends that I play this game with stopped playing, I would be drifting away now too. As it is, with plenty of other games around and other companies making drastically better decisions, I am finding it difficult to justify spending more time on Destiny. The more genuine players that leave, the more toxic players that we are left with. It's sad, but once it reaches a certain point, it's hard to see a recovery/improvement

So just have to say that I now have a fallout boy song stuck in my head because of your last comment 😆 I honestly think you have the hit the nail right on the head with a number of your comments. The whole game does feel like its dictated by someone sat working out how much more money they can milk from us. Just think, up to now if you bought all dlcs, forsaken etc, you have spent over $150. If you have lost the passion to play the game, why spend more money and more of your time trying to play it. With them blowing up our vaults between 1 and 2, I did get the point. Made sense at the time, but now we just keep getting the same exotics back. Wheres the imagination and drive to provide us with something new? I too have been getting fed up with the way destiny is going. It's more and more without direction and purpose. At this point the only thing making me get shadowkeep is that fact that a number of my friends only play d2. I hope that someone at bungie actually reads your post and takes the time to pay attention to the reason for your departure from the game. There are plenty who have stopped playing and that are still playing that have the exact same issues and it's high time Bungie addressed them.

Hahaha. Resignation letters to a video game are hilarious.

Edited by KRoMXiTo: 9/16/2019 12:35:47 PMNo one cares dude. TLDR: 🍼

2 RepliesTLDR I suck at this game. Bungie should work for free. We should be able to have everything we want. I'm entitled.
-
0 upvotes.. that says it all.. 😂🍼
-
2 RepliesI've never understood people who feel the need to announce to everyone that they've stopped playing.
-
It’s not an airport. No need to announce your departure. Just go.
-
I understand your concerns but why do people post Goodbyes ? This is a game ,not your last day in the workplace
-
61 RepliesBruh no one cares. Just stop playing and find somthing else to play that you enjoy. My bet is you'll come back when you realise you miss playing. No need to be a drama queen and tell the world about it.

Only 3...noob.

Finally! Goodbye!!

2 RepliesGood for you! Sounds like Bungie loses yet another customer. It is Bungies loss because they are losing the money not you. Five years of consistent revenue from a customer is now discontinued, gone. Yep, I have to say Bungie is the loser on this one. Gaming should be enjoyable. Good luck and thanks for posting.

You won't regret it, you're free now my dude.

10 RepliesI feel like a jerk. I forgot to log onto the anthem forums and say goodbye to all the people I never met.

Forgot to delete that battle.net warlock there, guy..
-
Pretty sure Bungie wasn't bought by Microsoft because otherwise they'd still be making Halo
-
I'm confused. What was the straw that broke the camel's back? You make a list of reasons why "destiny and bungo big bad" but you never really state what got you to delete your characters and leave for good.
-
Dude!!! You dropped your pacifier on the whining way out!
-
1 ReplyOk bye. Still not sure what you people expect out of a video game.
-
5 RepliesSame. I’m thinking i’m Done. Not getting shadowkeep beacuse i’m -blam!-ing sick of all the eververse bullshit that they are doing
-
9 RepliesWow man look at all the hate. That is cause hate is soooooo easy. My thought is there simply isn't a better game out there. Even if I agree with each and every thing you said the game still doesn't have a real rival. There are no Destiny killers. I say that as a challenge to all developers. Go for it. The game isn't what it should be but it is still worth my time.

I applaud your decision. You should not become so heavily invested in a single game. You should only play it if you enjoy it. No worries, I will carry your torch into the adventures that are to come.
