My pinnacle weapons celebration!
At last.
After almost a year of playing.
After months of trying, learning, getting frustrating, being tired and get's ass kicked -
I got it.
REVOKER, REDRIX’S BROADSWORD earlier and now LUNA'S HOWL and RECLUSE are mine.
I, (let's be honest) casual player, father of two, with not so much time for play as I want to, climbed up to Fabled in crucible - without season pass (and weapons like Last Word, Beloved, Austringer or Hammerhead), without one-man-army friends or clan focused on PVP. After months and months of learning, how to be better in competitive I proove myself that I'm not that old ;)
To do that, I had to learn to use sniper rifle, which I hated in past. But I near to love right now ;) I'm know that I'm far from the best. I'm probably even not in top of average, but... man, it's so satisfying to know, that you have some chance to kill players better than you. And do this in one, nice shot. Why it's important? Cause it was necessary if you want to compete with players better than you.
To celebrate this moment, I've made short video with some of my "actions" (It's first video I've ever made), from past two-three weeks.
Thanks for every player who helped me climb this mountain and every foe, that makes me better.
More than 19000 killed guardians in crucible.
1,37 - function of kills plus assists, divided by deaths.
140 wins in competitive in all seasons.
20 gold medals.
I can rest a little from this game now and see what Bungie can fix/improve with Shadowkeep (better matchmaking, better respawn modell, etc.). Cya in crucible maybe. And wish you all, who aren't pro-players, but still want to prove something to yourselves, luck to get at point I'm right now - it's satisfying as hell...

1 ReplyI mean not to take anything away from you but I ask this in all seriousness: what do your stats mean/prove? More than 33,1000 killed guardians in crucible. 1.26 - function of kills plus assists, divided by deaths. 140 wins in competitive in all seasons (taking out Doubles and Trials wins) 51 gold medals I have 3,500 Glory this season - STILL do not have access to Luna, Mountain, nor Recluse.

I've gotten every pinnacle weapon besides Not Forgotten (comp is toxic). I gotta say, Recluse is my all time favorite pinnacle for PvE, Loaded Question for arc burn, Mountain Top for most activities where I'm using Recluse.

1 ReplyI'm still working towards Mountaintop and Revoker. But I'm not good with Snipers and Mountaintop is an annoying grind. Forget about Not Forgotten. I'm not remotely skilled enough to get to Legend. But I'm happy with my Lunas and Recluse and the fact that I didn't have to pay someone for them.

Excellent.. I remember thinking that revoker looked interesting.. I picked up a sniper and got my arse handed back to me. However I didn't let it drop, just kept going. Must have over 2000 on snipers and revoker is my favourite. I also got recluse and luna but luna is a bit pants on pc

2 RepliesCongratulations!!! Don't ever sell yourself short! I am 32 now, and a year and a half ago I felt very discouraged playing my first few competitive games - I assumed that as an adult I just didn't have the speed of the kids playing this game, and I was fated never to stand a chance in competitive. I practiced as much as my busy life would allow, worked on playing to my strengths - what I may lack in reaction speed I make up for in critical thinking ability and strategy. Fast forward to today and I have finished my own pinnacle weapon collection, and taught a handful of PvE focused friends how to be effective in competitive too! You should be proud of yourself for achieving the results you set out to accomplish and believing in yourself. I personally can't wait for Shadowkeep to come out now because I am ravenous for more PvP content. Hope to see you in the Crucible some day Guardian! Congrats again!

Congrats man, I’ve been working away at these quests since they came out and finally mustered up the courage to suffer through completely this season. The relief of finally having those incredible weapons is like Atlas without the world on his back.

1 ReplyI have over 100,000 kills in the Crucible (time = kills) and still can not compete in the Competitive. You may not have been as bad as you thought.

Nice! I have them all EXCEPT Not Forgotten 😑 I consider myself a pretty good pvp player but my issue is I can never find good teammates that know how to play high comp 😩

4 RepliesI did a similar climb this season. Took me 193 games to get to Fabled. It was really painful at times. Yes learned a lot and improved in some area's but not being a one man army that can swing games it often feels like RNG with matchmaking leading to getting trampled a lot. Sometimes for several games in a row even if you take breaks. Also it's very difficult to find groups that are decent at this stage in the season. Most players good enough got their stuff a couple months ago and rolled out. Then close to half of crucible posts are offers for paid account recovery's.
