Sunshot could really use a bigger magazine
8 just doesn’t seem like enough, just a little more would make this HC much more relevant.

Could use a mag of 10 and not feel like the worst hand cannon in the game to shoot. I’ve tried practicing with it. Precision hits are more of a bonus than any normal strategy with that gun.

I use it pretty often since I got the catalyst and I have to say it is very mediocre in low level activities. trying to get the catalyst fully unlocked, but the sun blast kills are taking me forever, anyone have a tip to get that done faster?

I don’t mind the magazine (maybe 'cause I use Last Word a lot), but I do not like the recoil pattern.

1 ReplyIt's a pretty weak exotic overall. I haven't used it since the pre-Forsaken days. It's only useful on weak ads.........like pretty much everything else in the game. lol.

10 RepliesRecoil direction needs some work too. The other 150's have 100 recoil direction, meanwhile Sunshot has 65 I believe.

But it definitely needs a buff to it's ammo economy in some way Also, it really needs some love for it's damage due to the explosive rounds nerf dear LORD.

2 RepliesAgreed. Also...for the longest time there's been discussion about the recoil animation or just the recoil obscuring your view while shooting this gun. It makes successive shots at the guns optimal RoF (150rpm) quite difficult to land as precision shots in particular. There are a few ways they could adjust things to make the accuracy feel more consistent, personally I'd be in favor of them changing the archetype to 150rpm Precision frame, same as Luna's Howl. I think because it's exotic this is acceptable and a decent buff for the gun. The other archetype that would work well for it as it stands right now would be the Agressive frame 110rpm. The recoil is basically as it should be for that frame and so is the mag size. Either of these archetype changes would see the gun much more viable and probablya lot more deadly in pvp too.

While I wouldn't mind a larger magazine for the Sunshot, I personally think ALL hand cannons need their mag ammo counts re-worked. I would like to see all hand cannons in line with slightly more realistic ballistic values. High rpm gets less impact, but more rounds in the cylinder. Most HC's are this way, but the exceptions throw off the balance. In my opinion: 180's get 12-15, 150's get 9-11, 140's get 7-8, 110's are all 6-shooters. Just my opinion Thanks for reading

I think a buff to is base stats like accuracy, stability, and aim assist would make it more reliable. Right now, after the first 2 shots they kind of go all over unless you really pace yourself

Players have been asking for this since I can remember. With all these nerfs about to happen, I wouldn’t mind a few buffs to some weapons that can use it.

Agreed, 10 would be a good number and if you have a reload perk, or soon to be mod, it will be a blast to ues.

It'd be cool if like getting kills with the chain explosions refunded ammo back to the magazine.
