Like you did with the pinnacle weapons in recent seasons or the armor ornaments in the first couple seasons.
Even the most fun activities become unplayable after hours of tedious, repetitious grinding.
I know it's too late for the two quests I mentioned, but maybe keep this in mind going forward.

I think what they should have done is once you complete one set, the next character has less requirements than the first. Same goes for the third set. That way it’s still a grind, but isn’t outrageous.

Just upgraded the "drained" armor and I had seen the requirements to upgrade the renew and I'm already defeated. It looks really tedious. I wish it was an acount wide objective. I'm burnt out playing on my hunter upgrading the drained armor. I'm not even gonna humor the idea of completing other armor for my other characters I just finished the mountaintop questline earlier today and the redrix broadswoard last week lol. Hopefully I get it done in time.

7 RepliesUnfortunately, some of the requirements for the Solstice armor are class based. Though the ones that are similar between classes should definitely be account based (looking at you, 100 EAZ mini boss kills).
-
Yeah I agree. I would prefer if it was just points until you get to masterwork. 1000 points on each green piece, 5000 on blues. Every activity gives points and the objective is to just play and have fun - instead of being forced into doing activities that you don't like to do.
-
Hear, hear. Theres absolutely no fun whatsoever in these grinds. First it was Faction Rallies, then last years Solstice armour grind. Then Iron Banner and now this. I want to play and enjoy myself, but I'm struggling to do that. I have friends who are playing other games because of this. Please Bungie, let us just play the game as it was in Destiny, XP based, not this tedious grind

12 RepliesThose of us that have a job and work 50+ hrs a week and have families will never finish these stupid long quests. Its just ridiculous to spend stupid long hrs to get an armor set.How can you possibly have a life outside of the game?
-
I agree. Let the biggest and longest quests be shared among characters. You could even add to the quest a bit and I’d be fine with it, assuming it applies to the whole account. Or, I’d even consider it reasonable if earning it on one character gives a discount to the subsequent character. 3o% character 2, 60% off character 3
-
2 RepliesBut they’re different armour sets? They may be acquired the same way but they’re still different. It’s not perfect but on that logic once you finish the raid on one class, your other 2 characters should also get the gear?

Edited by ALBOBOSS: 8/10/2019 1:08:00 AMI am strangely enjoying grinding solstice even after the first character. It had been a long time since I played simple pve activities because was focusing on end game and pinnacle pvp weapons. This is a refreshing change of pace. I'm sure many think otherwise though 😁 I would have preferred something more unique as a reward for all 3 characters though as opposed to the voistreak Sparrow from D1.

1 ReplyGrind! People don't know grind. I'm still on Mars waiting for a Warsat to drop!

107 RepliesEdited by Hatter: 8/10/2019 10:48:36 PMYou want an endless grind? Try running a dungeon in FFXIV 600+ times for a weapon. Each run at least 20 minutes each. Or a Savage boss 600+ times. THEN COME TALK TO ME ABOUT GRIND. YOU DONT KNOW WHAT GRIND IS. Edit: good lord guys. 100+ replies?
-
They know. It’s intentional to force to keep playing artificially.
-
7 RepliesDisagree. Voidstreak sparrow loses its appeal

I haven't even gotten past the green Solstice on my Hunter and just got the blue set on my Warlock. I highly doubt I will be able to finish even one set. The grind on these is ridiculous. Way too grindy and tbh, making me question whether I'm sticking with Destiny once Shadowkeep drops. I've been playing a ton of the old 8-bit/16-bit style pixel art indie games and that seems to be the direction I'll go once all my hard earned grinding is null and void come October. Plus Doom:Eternal is coming out in October.

or just cut all the needs in half. Im really starting to hate the game and Ive loved it for 5 years. Feels like a job not a game. Unrewarding!

Agreed a 10000%

The one thing these events offer for people especially newer players is the opportunity to finish/progress certain Triumph. If a new player runs the 10 to 30 strikes, they will make progress towards seasonal Triumphs as well as account Triumphs. Progress towards Pinnacle weapons...... It is not that great or beneficial for those of us that play a lot. With the recent changes to Eververse and not receiving new season drops, I may or may not finish all 3 sets. My main character needs to MW 2 pieces and then.... As a collector....this sucks. There is no reason for the “grind” if I’m not getting the goofy shit that Eververse has to add to my collections.

2 RepliesThey can't make these grind fest easier. If they did that, too many people would realize how little content this game actually has and just stop playing it. Destiny is nothing more then a PVP game now with some side PVE action. Why do you think every single item in this game that's worth having is locked behind at least one pvp grind.
-
This is important feedback. This grind plus the Forges unlock questline Huge exotic quests would also be great to see account based just like pinnacle rewards complete across account now.
-
Long grind, lol
-
solstice is a month long event not a 1 hour questline so just get on with it

23 Replies“The grind” is a lie. Or well it’s at least dishonest game developing. Any game as a service or MMO suffers from this. “Go and play the same activity over and over and over again” ... why? Well the reason is very simple: it’s cheaper for you to think that a “grind” is content than to actually create enough content that it always feels fresh. Profit over quality production. Quantity of play time rather than quality of play time. If you want to defend a “grind” don’t bother. It’s the dumbest thing that has ever made its way into gaming and gamers are much dumber for it. Many are now imprisoned into particular titles because they feel attached to games they dedicated so much time to. I’ve done it. I’ve wasted my time grinding damn near everything possible in D2. When I ask myself “was it worth it?” The answer is always no. Even if the loot is good the grind wasn’t worth it and was a waste of time. Grinds are put into games because of the corporate business atmosphere that has infected gaming. Stats mean more than quality experiences now.

3 RepliesOr, after you have completed on one character, make the other two have significantly less requirements. Like 50 mini boss kills instead of 100. Not my idea though, I saw a post from alienhuman mentioning this.
-
2 RepliesI disagree, it should be character based. You don’t have to play all three classes.

Agreed
