I can’t stress how fun this concept is. D1 had this to a degree, but it was completely abandoned in D2.
I’d really like to see this return. Nightfall specific drops were a very poor attempt at bringing dedicated loot drops back.
Please consider this for D3.

2 RepliesIf I could have Destiny's aesthetics and setting with Borderlands gameplay, I'd be a very happy man. That's not to say Borderlands' gameplay is perfect, though. What made me give up BL2 were the stupid slag mechanics. After the 2nd playthrough, the use of slag became mandatory; everything was an atrocious bullet sponge without it. This meant if you played solo without some slag-slave to drag along(or you being the slag-slave yourself), you were screwed. I remember my third playthrough as melee Zer0(UVH difficulty) and I couldn't get past the part where you have to save Roland from the prison. That and Borderlands 2 had a legendary(their equivalent to exotic) system that was often confusing, and with even poorer drop rates. There were legendary weapons, but also seraph weapons, pearlescent weapons, and unique weapons. Worse yet is that most of these weapons came from difficult bosses which you could only do once per playthrough. In addition to this, there was no infusion system or the like, meaning that extremely lucky drop you got at level 10 is useless 5 levels later. You'd have to farm it all over again.

Only thing D3, needs to bring is a larger loot pool. 10 fold over D2.

I dont want any of the enemy shite weapons though.

For the die hardship, destiny will always be their game. Their space Based call of duty. Where no one plays the story line but does the PVP over and over. That is why the game is chopped and dribbled out behind pay walls, why as time goes on, weaker and weaker content is provided. Borderlands 3 is going to provide full game, at release. They fixed gun handling, added more flexibility to character builds, solo players will have some support in NPC reviving players. They took good aspects from destiny like the mail box, so loot is not lost. Added game modes so loot ninjas can’t take all the good stuff, players of different levels can face adds of similar levels, or not, their choice. Borderlands has always allowed players to play their style, trading and gifting great loots has always been a part of BL. BL3 has the promise of being everything Destiny claimed to be but never was. Since BL never had a PVP, they pour all that effort into content, no one asks for nerfs, or rebalance. Basically if you have to pit yourself against other players for your entertainment, a KDI is what builds your self esteem, Borderlands is not going to be your game. But if you like PVE, with lots of content, side quests, challenges then this game is going to put Destiny to shame. I expect BL 3 release to have more content then destiny 1 and 2 combined. The really sad thing is Destiny 3. Should they go with the same model call of duty model, after BL, of paywalled content, minimal effort, I don’t care what game they are famous for, they don’t own that title anymore. I for one have a low opinion of them, and no trust to receive fair value for their games.

Bring back Strike specific loot and skeleton keys
-
They did nightfall because they didn't have enough content, then the randomness wasn't random, D2 was a wash from launch.

33 RepliesRepeat after me: Destiny 2 is not a looter shooter. Destiny 2 is not a looter shooter.

Edited by DeathPony07: 5/3/2019 9:13:04 PMWe used to have skeleton keys, but Bungie and the elitists hate fun, so they made us grind nightfalls a hundred times instead, because that's fun, right?

4 RepliesYeah come September I won't even know where my D2 disc is.
-
GIMME DUBSTEP GUN They should let you change fire rates on it and it would seitch to different notes and you could do gun syncs with it lol
-
2 RepliesBorderland = you can farm loot whatever you want Destiny = one time per week

1 ReplyI actually clapped watching bl3 gameplay. Yelled also. Hope destiny gives me that same excitement someday soon.
-
Division 2: Do an activity akin to a strike or public event and you’ll get what’s basically a legendary (high end) 99% of the time. Destiny: Complete a strike, 5% chance of legendary, public events are a 2% chance.
-
I hope bungie takes some of these things into account for D3. D3 needs to be a lot better than D1 and D2 in all aspects.
-
6 RepliesFinally... A REAL looter shooter.
-
6 RepliesThis has always been a thing in Borderlands, but now it’s just a guaranteed drop (it appears) and it’s every boss (based off the stream).
-
2 RepliesCan’t wait for Sept, and dump this horrible game.
-
Pumped for BL3!

Please consider this for D3.
Why bother? Unless it's Free2Play, nobody will install.

Oh you mean like destiny 1. The disappointment doing last wish and not getting one piece of riv3n themed gear

4 RepliesHere’s what Bungie should do for D3. Each Strike should have: - it’s own weapon - It’s own Armour SET. Not an Armour piece but a whole set. I think that would allow Strikes too be much more appealing. Right now I feel no incentive to run strikes. We have a few Strike Specific weapon’s but they’re Nightfall exclusive. Which means the Strike playlist itself still has no incentive. They should at least make it so that heroic Strikes have a chance at to get armour from Strike specific sets, and have the Nightfall have the Strike specific weapons. Back in D1, I just would grind for quite sometime to get a firefly + outlaw Imago loop. I went into the Darkblade and Malok Strikes to get the DarkBlade Helm and Hood of Malok helmets respectively. Same thing for the Psion Flayer Cloaks. I had a reason to go into the strike playlist. Now I just run strikes if I just want to use Celestial Nighthawk for a bit.

I agree

Return to D2? But when BL3 drops destiny will die xD
-
My problem with bungie right now is they making another annual pass they gonna have to really convince us to buy it they can barely handle the one we have now plus this model of content isn't gonna last long. Next pass they might upgrade ep other than that they would have to make a new new endgame content this game is at it's peak yet bungie is holding it back.

1 ReplyDestiny has kill a boss and get a blue...does that count?

24 RepliesLoved B2, hated the sequels. If B3 is better than B2, Destiny is history.
