Golden Gun
- Insta-kill
- All you have to do is aim. (It's a shooter, aiming is the minimum requirement to play.)
Spectral Blades
- Infinite spam blades
- Almost no energy consumption
- Tonnes of damage resistance
- Long lasting super. (You can spam thirty--blam!-ing-two knife slashes, 32!!!)
Blade Barrage
- Auto aim knives
- Too much damage resistance
- Basically a better Nova Bomb.
Now compare that to the other supers which all have travel time, skill with aiming or energy consumption for actions. Either bring the rest up or lower these. Bungie pls fix holy shit.
Edit: My problem is that GG is a hit scan cross map instakill. The super it self doesn't play that unfairly but the mechanics are very unfair in my opinion. Making it require a headshot to kill any Guardian, super or no, while increasing the timer by 5-7 seconds would put it in a great spot in my opinion.

1 ReplyEdited by Smough: 4/4/2019 4:33:54 PMHonestly it’s just spectral and blade barrage that are broken, and definitely need major nerfs. But overall I’d say titans have the best supers. Every single one except for the big boi hammer, and the big titan smash, can easily wipe a whole team with little to no effort. And almost every subclass gets a shoulder charge, which is a one shot melee with a ton of tracking, and they also have one eyed mask at their disposal. Compare that to warlock who only really has dawnblade, and hunter who only has spectral and blade barrage.

Tether does about nothing, now. So, there’s that.

3 RepliesGolden gun gets ZERO super armor, so you can still get 2-3 shotted by a lot of normal weapons. Titans get super armor for every subclass. Sentinel shield throws can bounce 5 times and then get a double kill. Fist of Panic still exists. Sunbreaker hammers still one shot and track from extreme distances. Warlocks also get a ton of super armor. Chaos reach has a ton of range, super armor, and it’s extremely hard to miss with it, plus you can cancel it and get energy back. It’s literally golden gun, but better. Nova warp is nova warp, even post nerf. Nova BOMB is Blade Barrage, except instead of killing one person, mini Novas split off and wipe out anyone who survived, with better tracking than BB. Dawnblade is Sunbreaker without a shoulder charge, but the projectiles are faster and can track people around walls. Hunters aren’t OP, you’re just bad. I’ve died more to Warlocks than anything, that doesn’t mean they’re overpowered.

1 ReplyHunter biggest advantage is their jump imo. Other than that the spectral blade is pretty much cheese but there is always at least one unfair super . For whatever advantages they have in pvp, they also lose it in pve.
-
8 RepliesYou forgot the satire tag. You say golden gun requires only aiming....say hello to hammers and dawnblade that dont even require aiming ... You say spectral doesnt require energy to spam the blades....eit lasts 26 seconds normally....when spamming blades it lasts 12 seconds....clearly costs a lot of energy... You say blade barrage has too much damae reduction?...it is the same as nova bomb...50% And you say it is better than nova bomb....blade barrage does 11 million damage in gambit prime compared to a nova bomb 40 million....and that is without tractor cannon which adds 20 million to the nova bomb. So you are wrong on every part.

1 ReplyImagine basing a subclasses viability off of the ability you get three times a game.
-
1 ReplyDawn balde tracks targets and is extended for each kill, first of havoc gets extended for each kill. No hunter super gets extended. The best players just choose hunter because they're more mobile than other classes.
-
2 RepliesHammers - tracking, multiple shot ohk Titan smash - multiple smashes, and roaming Titan shield - multiple shields with tracking bounces Nova - tracking, with multiple additional tracking projectiles Dawn blade - super speed, multiple with tracking Palpatine lightning - just hold an sweep chaining damage Arc staff - improved dodge no real range Tether - not necessarily a ohk Golden gun - 3 to 6 shots with no tracking does require aim and no incoming damage resistance Blade Barrage - a one off with minor tracking Spectral blades - believe it or not rather crappy hit registration, but does have semi invisibility and seeing through walls. So may be a bit OP, but would be about equal to other roaming supers if true sight was removed. All supers have pros and cons. And nerfing them, wouldn't make them supers anymore. Should we call them, "Moderates?"

Except for the fact that it sucks absolute ass against pretty much every other super.
Blade Barrage - Auto aim knives - Too much damage resistance - Basically a better Nova Bomb.
Where Nova Bomb offers more consistently without needing to wait for explosions, and BB has the same resistance as most of the other supers at about 2/3. 1 ReplyI can't speak to what he was trying to convey, but from my point of view, I can understand where he is coming from. By not maining/playing with a hunter in pvp for a significant amount of time, your perception of the OPness of the GG, is mostly from dying from it. And to decrease any bias, actually playing with a hunter more, would help you understand the limitations and frustrations that can come when using GG. Compared to just the frustrations defending against GG, or other hunter subclasses.

1 ReplyI would say spectral needs a duration and health tune. Because you can literally spray it with a shotgun and it won't die. Duration is also another issue because you can kill someone then zoom across the map and kill someone.
-
2 RepliesAnd people say hunters cry nerf. You warlocks are starting to earn your dresses......

1 ReplyHaha! I am a hunter main. In PVP, by raw lethality (not efficiency), I agree. But overall my GOD are you wrong! Ultimate example. Chasm. Of. Screams. Two of my friends and I were working through it because one of my friends wants Thorn. We got to the boss. At this stage, it’s important to know I’m higher light than both of them. My friend uses his Nova Bomb. 1/3 of the boss’ health disappears. My other friend used his thundercrash (he’s 9 levels under the recommended) on the ogres. They die in one hit to it. I’m above both of them, and attacking ads with blade barrage. So I killed them, right? WRONG. ONLY THE THRALL DIED. I hit a massive area of acolytes, knights, and thrall. The knights were the only ones hit directly, and they barely lost their shields! THIS IS ABSURD! How someone can consider hunters to be the most OP in this situation, I don’t know. Another example, for PVP, involving my friends again. And also what I see in crucible; but I’ll write it like you: Warlocks: Nova bomb - One hit without having to hit, tracks maliciously and inescapable if you aren’t miles away when it’s used. Well of radiance - now he can one-hit with a sidearm. Stormtrance - Just... stop trying. You’ve probably already died by the time you see it. Titans: Pretty... pretty crap. Hunters: BB - for some reason, doesn’t seem to finish charging unless you’re in rumble. Hm. SB - If you don’t activate it near a group, you’ve wasted your super. AS - you’re faster than light. This is how I see everything, and how I experience it. Therefore, it is all I can argue.

Still miss blade dancer

2 RepliesEdited by Babajeeds: 4/2/2019 4:25:32 PMTo all the hunter mains out there from year 1 - We made it.

1 ReplyWhat a troll. Blade barrage is garbage. It annoys noobs when they get killed by it, but don't realise its a 1 and done defensive super with almost no multi kill capability. Nova bomb? Since the buff nova bomb is much better than blade barrage. Golden gun? A short duration no armour non aoe super that needs long lanes to work? A good super? Dawnblade would like a word with you. Spectral is the only viable slaying super on hunter but is cannot out duel other roaming supers and is easy for hunters and warlocks with clever mobility to avoid (most aren't clever). In fact the only class that find it hard to avoid are other hunters. Learn the game and then re-apply your whining. Meanwhile

1 ReplySentinel and dawnblade have entered the chat
-
5 RepliesNow I used to be a hunter main before the Blade Nerf but here is the thing, GG is the most balanced super there is, no aoe as others have pointed out and you know no armor oh and a pretty short timer. I understand and fully agree with you on spectral because I literally just want to commit game end when I die by one. Back to Blade Barrage, since the nerf how many people do you see running it all the time now? Quite a few yes? It is because it is now a balanced super.
-
3 RepliesThey’re not. As a hunter main I get wrecked plenty by other class supers, and to me it feels like the other clas roaming supers last just as long as spectral blades.
-
7 Repliesyour just a hunter hater. its ok . try playing one recently. go for one week only runn8ng hunter. you will realize its not as op as many ppl think.
-
13 RepliesTheir not, Your wrong, Maybe try using your hunter instead of just being killed by other players out skilling you and using that as your basis of frustration.
-
No wonder this game sucks with all the idiots that complain

4 RepliesEdited by OneTrueMandalor: 4/2/2019 1:42:51 PMWow...of all supers to call OP, you mention Golden Gun, the only super with no damage resistance and the super with the shortest duration. At least you have to aim with that. Meanwhile, Titans can throw hammers 10 feet to the right of their target, and still kill them, they can chuck a shield at some random wall, and it’ll bounce around forever, insta-killing some enemy halfway across the map (said enemy jumps over the shield and still dies, mind you). And of course there’s the classic panic slam. And don’t get me started on the tracking Nova Bombs that blow up on cover, and still kill you, 50 miles away from said cover. And Nova Warp...while not as busted as it was before, there’s still no aim required. You don’t even need to get close to kill, just let the obnoxious blast radius one-shot anyone without a super. You don’t need to aim with those. You rarely see Golden Guns in Crucible, you know why? Because it’s a skill super. Also I’m surprised you never mentioned Arcstaff not Shadowshot, which also happen to be Hunter supers. So you said that Hunters have the most OP supers, therefore that would mean you’d be including these two, which doesn’t make sense since Arcstaff is just there and Shadowshot is objectively the worst super in the entire game (only in mayhem does it have a small moment to shine). So that means your entire premise of Hunter supers being OP is false. I do agree that spectral blades is busted, I hate it to. Blade Barrage? You actually do gotta aim sometimes, otherwise you’ve wasted the super when your target moves behind cover fast enough. A handful of my Blade Barrages have ended up with no kills, and it has nothing to do with me being trash. Just bad timing. It’s still very strong, but nowhere near as busted as before. I do like using it as a shutdown super. Also, when Mayhem comes around again, I encourage any Hunter to equip Celestial Nighthawk w/ bottom tree GG (of course), and see how good an enemy BB’s damage resistance REALLY is. At the very least, I can guarantee you’ll be trading with a Blade Barrage.
-
9 RepliesLiterally every super, bar tether and titan bubble is insta-kill. Spectral blades is a little OP at the moment, true. Hammers, Swords, Burning maul, slowva bomb all track just as well, if not better.
-
1 Replyonly spectral blades need a duration nerf, nothing more
-
5 RepliesBecause besides that we have bad grenades, laughable melee, and we twirl instead of shoulder charge.
