Hi Bungie, is there any chance at all we can remove Cores from Infusion? I get the whole point of using them for masterworking and that makes sense but as a casual player its so hard to upgrade my armor and weapons. For instance, the new drifter bounties drop 640 blue items. To update my armor and weapons from those blue drops is 3 cores per item. Thats 3 cores per armor for 15 and then 3 x 3 for my weapons, as someone that doesnt have alot of time to play. This now becomes my daily grind... to get cores..... thats not why i play Destiny....Can we please remove the need for cores on infusion? I dont see any reason for it and this would allow players to try different loadouts as it would require glimmer and / or Legendary shards / destination items (Etheric Spiral, Simulation Seeds etc). QOL is why i am asking. I havent even been able to try the first forge as i am barely at 600 LL. Thanks for listening.

47 RepliesTo everyone saying “just grind to max light, then infuse”... STOP IT!... What is the point in progression if you cant progress till you’ve pretty much done everything? This logic baffles me. What Im hearing is “beat the game, then make your character how you want” what the actual F? One of many reasons why I don’t play anymore. I among others want to play how WE want to play.

Fine matterweave. Pop one all the time. No excuse for these posts.

11 RepliesHow dont people like spending 40hrs a week for about 5 cores?
-
3 RepliesLight level hardly matters right now. Go do the gambit 640 bounties and then infuse the guns to your favorite guns and leave the armor alone. Do your weekly milestones and you’ll get purpled to replace them with. That’s enough to do all theforges and the T1.

I love these replies "Casual gamers don't want to put in effort for reward" and the like. Look I have payed for this game more than once over. I think that that earns me a right to get to enjoy the thing. I don't think it's too much to ask for, for it to not be so annoyingly grind heavy that my only time getting to play with a busy schedule is reduced to just trying to get a few cores to upgrade my gear. Things should be the same as it was in destiny 1 where you had to have planetary resources, glimmer, and now the legendary shards. I just don't have the time to grind for four weeks to acquire all of these cores. I'd like to be able to play the story and PvP relatively hassle free.

Edited by blade329: 3/10/2019 2:49:43 AMEnhancement cores are a cancer on this game. I always love the fan boys and zombies who defend this system. "Bro, what's your problem? I've got a ton of cores." I always laugh at these guys. All you have to do is play the game the way they do. Simple right? LOLOL.

16 RepliesI'm going to tell you this in hopes that I can change the destiny life of at least 1 guardian today. Want enhancement cores? Here's how. Go to spider every day and buy 3. Go to spider when he is selling simulantion seeds for 1 legendary shard for 5 seeds. Buy a shit ton of simulation seeds and take them to Brother Vance and turn them in for engrams. Dismantle all the gear you get and you will most definitely have more cores than you can use. You're welcome. This game is not broken and nothing needs to be changed about it. The thing is, a lot of people don't know these little tricks. Everything everyone is complaining about on these forums is something that can be accomplished relatively simply without Bungie changing anything.

Just do what I do, and wait for the same gear to drop (with higher Light Levels) and infuse using only glimmer.

Casual players don’t matter

2 RepliesI play most days, although I don’t count myself hardcore anymore I’m definitely not casual. I struggle getting enough Enhancement Chores to the point I don’t bother levelling up my stuff any more.
-
It's not the infusion cost, it's the lack of preparation we had...
-
3 RepliesBungie has already told ya to shove it on this subject. How long ya gonna beat a dead horse?
-
2 RepliesDude.. We were wrong. I got to level 658 so far. And I've gained about 37 cores. I've literally only done strikes.. 1 gambit prime 67 strikes. 4 nightfalls. I dismantle between each round Turn in scrappers, and reobtain during missions...break down finest matterweave ..I bout 2 sometime 3 from spider. Then turn in about 200 tokens per trip to tower, get all primes and stuff turned it I've gained tons of cores bro.. And I dont like them for infusion, but dude... Maybe it's fixed man let's just see Maybe rng has broken for me?

Moved to PC when I bought forsaken. I'm sitting on 92 cores from matterweave, dismantling curated guns, and planetary resource trading. I really dont see the problem with infusion cores. Also I play casually after work like every adult.

Causals are the reason d2 had a terrible launch, this game was not made for the people who only play a few hours, that should be apparent from all the forge and exotic quest last season.

1 ReplyThose Spider Bounties are pretty unrewarding. You sit there in a patrol Zone where the target may or my not spawn (Titan is the worst), and you get 1 single core, just 1. Seriously.
-
PSA .. don't infuse anything that you won't use in 6 months. If it has a good roll, bank it. Shard everything else. Everything. Wear blues until you get as high as you can with blue. Wear legendary crap until you get to 695, then infuse your best weapons and gear up to 700. If gear doesn't have 2 good perks, shard it. If weapons don't feel good to use, shard it. Do not hoard. And spider is your friend. Buy 1 every day for 10 shards. Do his bounties for much more.

22 Repliesso you want cores removed so that you can upgrade your armor and weapons YET somehow this allows for different loadouts, hmm..... infusing new, different, unfamiliar, more powerful weapons and armor into your lower, less powerful, regularly used, already have and preferred loadout. not really buying what you are selling. #leavecoresalone

5 RepliesI know a casual player may not understand this but I'm so beyond worrying about cores at this point. I'm sitting on like over 300 of them. I can understand why people that like to play Destiny want to instant power up, but it makes sense that there should be a price to pay to put a powerful drop on gear of your choice, putting in that work to earn that feels right. Personally I look forward to seeing which Scrapper bounties I get or Materials I need, then I get to play around wherever it tells me to go.
-
After research... I got 20 cores in two days doing strikes....dismantle while playing in the playlist. Get scrappers...
-
Don't remove them. Just make them not cost so damn much to infuse lol
-
1 ReplyTheir passing it on to the developers. Start of the next season when another 50% of the player base quits they will remove the cores.
-
I also have limited time to play the game. I don't have the time nor the interest to run around and do boring crap to get a stupid core. If I don't have enough materials to level up the gear I actually want to use just by doing the things I actually enjoy doing then I'm not levelling up. If not levelling up means I can't play some or most of the content then I'm not playing that content. And if I can't play all of the content the way I want to play it that's going to affect my willingness to spend any money on Destiny going forward. Luckily there's lots of good games out and more coming.

1 ReplySeriously? Youre doing it wrong, its not that difficult

I would argue this isn't even a problem for just casual players. I consider myself one of the hardcore players of Destiny from the amount I have played.Cores being used as infusion just interrupt the flow of leveling all together and make the game not fun to play and level right now. Look at it like this you have two choices when playing Destiny to level right now: -Level and use whatever they hand you be it you like the weapon or armor they give you or not (not ideal not all weapons match a players preferred play style not to mention who wants to look like crap leveling with armor we are not a fan of) -Take more time playing just to farm cores every day so you can in fact infuse what you want but the way it is currently setup you cannot level and farm cores so you have to take time for both which just IMO just makes grinding feel that much worse and as a whole makes Destiny 2 feel like doing chores while playing. I have 21 cores left after Black Armory because I maxed out and wanted to use end game gear and weapons per class I preferred or got rolls I wanted on....now I do not want to level because I do not have cores and I do not want to farm for more nor use the weapons they are pushing on me while leveling. As much as I have played this game even at the end of content drops life being maxed out it is a problem that I do not have more cores from just playing the game. Hours played do not = amount of cores. This system is currently broken.
