Mote draining, invasion spam and primeval having invulnerable shields...not good. This needs to change.

I disagree. I think with all the mechanics and stuff this is the best gambit has ever been

Edited by Cinderchar: 3/6/2019 3:12:41 PMIt's just boring. Played 4 games, won 2. Same 50% win ratio as regular Gambit for solo queue. It's passable enough to play for the milestones at least. I didn't once think it felt sweaty though. The new mechanics were more enjoyable than regular Gambit I will admit. But it was the same map with the same enemies 4 times in a row and I was good to be done after those 4 games. It's just meh. There is nothing they can do to make Gambit the pinnacle activity they were hoping for. With how few people logged in on a content drop and a full reset yesterday, I think the community has spoken that Gambit is not the future of Destiny.

1 ReplyThe need to stop the invasion portal stacking - literally had a game where invader came in, killed 2 of team and then I took them out and literally 1 second later another invader was on the field. That should not happen.

Edited by iZnth: 3/6/2019 9:33:43 AMIt's painfully slow and dull. I'm one of the few people who enjoyed Gambit, but Prime has taken the worst elements of the game mode and turned them up to 11. Clearly, there is an advantage to having a well-coordinated team. There would always be. But the more people get bored (and by all accounts that might be a Destiny-fastest to date), the more you'll have to solo queue. If you match another team, you're screwed, and if you don't, the comparative sprint of a regular Gambit game will turn into the painful marathon that is Prime as two teams of solo players inevitably run around like headless chickens (insert the Dodgeball simile about doorknobs here). And, of course, it's all on one map to boot. Gambit Prime is about as exciting as watching someone read the phonebook.

1 Replygambit prime is a hideous grind frankenstein made by some dev that stares at spreadsheets these two modes would have been fine entirely by themselves and allowing us to choose our role in prime upon entry instead they create this horrid armor/currency system to motivate play on both sides this also creates a MASSIVE power disparity between peeps with gambit gear and peeps without (on top of premade vs pug) - gonna be empty quick cuz destiny matchmaking doesn't even try to separate these packs

I logged in after weeks away from the game just to log out very quickly. Gambit was the mode i disliked the most in the game and this dlc is all about it. Sure, it's had tweaks but i have zero interest in playing it therefore i will more than likely be away from the game again for a long time. I wonder who thought centering a dlc around such poor gamemode was a good idea. I personally feel bungie has no idea what the player base likes which is kinda sad. To put it into perspective, im part of a sizeable clan and at reset there were 6 of us on, 4 hrs later it was 2. I've been a bungie fanboy for nearly 2 decades and have watched them slowly go downhill for years, the bottom of that hill is in plain sight but i feel bungie either dont see it or dont care. I dont know what the fix is, even if i did i doubt they'd listen. Anyway, if you are enjoying the content more power to you and im glad you are. Stay strong Guardians

6 RepliesSurprise surprise!!!! Not even touched it, predicted what it would be like and just stayed away. 3 weeks on Friday since I played Destiny2. Finally had enough of the way our time is continually disrespected in game. If you don’t like it, don’t play it. Maybe then Bungie’ll start to listen.

I agree with you except the primeval boss with the shields I think the mechanic type gameplay adds some depth. However everything thing else is like being in an abusive relationship

2 RepliesI haven’t tried yet but it sounds miserable.

It extremely enjoyable you mean

As many issues as I see with the current version of the game, I actually think Gambit Prime is a huge improvement over the initial offering. There is a caveat here that it makes a world of difference to be playing with at least one other friend, but that said, the one round is much better in my opinion. The map is also a huge improvement with a ton of ways to avoid Invaders. The invasion rate could be tweaked, but I actually found it to be pretty decent overall.

6 RepliesEdited by WebN Ragnarok: 3/8/2019 4:40:06 PMI don’t know what anybody’s talking about. 😹

I think it's fun lol and a lot more intense vs that boring slog that was regular Gambit
-
As much as everything you are saying makes sense, that is what Gambit Prime is about. So for people (like you) who don't enjoy that, there's Gambit. Same as people who don't like competitive play quickplay.

1 ReplyYea I played one match and was bored after 5 minutes. Now I have nothing to do for 3 months until Season of Opulence since you have to play GP to advance the DLC story. I loved playing regular Gambit, but GP just isn't fun, and it seems to drag on and on and on. Too bad you can't choose to play regular Gambit to forward the story. It seems like the talent pool with Bungie has just drained out over the years. I think since there are so many new people at Bungie, and they have such a large install base, they are experimenting to see how can you take an idea that was so phenomenal and intriguing and make it to where it will start to be frustrating, and infuriating to your base, to see how many people ride it out. I totally think this is a social experiment by Bungie, and to that point EA as well with Anthem. Or worse the programmers, and management have their resumes out there trying to find jobs to get out of Bungie, and when employers see they worked on Destiny they say, "Thanks but we'll take a hard pass, Good luck, though!", and now there stuck trying to keep Destiny alive for a paycheck to survive, and taking their frustrations out on us. Being a Day 1, D1 player on 2 platforms, and D2 player on 3 platforms, 2 art books, 1 character book, 1 Grimoire book (waiting for second one), 10 collectors figures, Alexa ghost, bought D2 for 2 friends, about 8 silver purchases, Dinklebot talking Ghost D1 edition, Forsaken collectors edition (collectors satchel), Cayde-6 shirt and Ace of Spades replica, Word replica, Dredgen medallion, Two-talked fox shirt for a friend, Wayfarer medallion, Cayde-6 aluminum, water bottle, Shirt with gamer tag sleeve patch, Taken King strange coin collectors edition, and every season pass (a pretty good investment, but I'm sure many have me beat), I have found myself starting to lose the extreme love I had for the game. Just wish it wasn't so.

2 RepliesI'm guessing you're the person who wastes all their heavy first damage phase
-
2 RepliesIt is better in every conceivable way. Faster, more strategic, better comeback potential. But sure, post some garbage on the forum because you do not understand how to play it yet.
-
Then play original Gambit.

Im liking the fact that there is more invasions which means more pvp for me!

26 RepliesI'm surprised to see so many don't like it.... I'm also surprised by just how much I DO like it. To me it seems more of a level playing field. ♦ 100 motes - takes a little longer for those stacked teams to fill the bank ♦ Sending blockers can take away some of those stacked team motes ♦ Boss mechanic keeps the stacked teams from insta melting the boss (also does away with the ridiculous 'catch up' shit in regular Gambit) ♦ The back and forth with invaders really makes the whole thing up in the air and it just seemed way more fair. ♦ 1 round - ALL GOOD! ♦ Win or lose you still complete bounties and still get the dog tag thingies for the special gear ♦ Didn't get 'Queenbreakered' a single time yesterday... WOOHOO!!!! I ran in a 4 stack last night and we got our asses handed to us the first few games because we didn't understand the mechanics. After we got the hang of it, we won one... and then we lost some more (even to teams of 2 stack and 2 solos). Normally, I too hate immunity phases in bosses ... but here it feels right. The boss health bar fluctuating on both sides as invaders do their work just made it fun IMO even when we lost (and we lost a lot). We still got the dog tag things for the the Reckoning even when we lost so again... all good. There is one thing I think needs to be changed BIG TIME... and that is when an invader's Prime Evil is up, if invaders are killed while invading, it should heal the invader's prime evil... perhaps even 'significantly'. It would definitely make invading a lot more risky when your PE is up. I think people are really peeved they can't just insta melt the boss anymore (until someone figures out a way). I guess I'm one of the few (only??) who thinks this is a good thing because it makes it a more level playing field. .... I'll be over in the corner preparing for the onslaught of hate I'm sure is coming my way... 😜

It actually pretty fun i enjoy it more than regular gambit
-
Edited by Optic: 3/7/2019 4:08:24 PMI think it's fun honestly. Mainly because its satisfying using 4 chaos reaches during the damage phase. That's a sight for sore eyes( if that's how the saying goes).
-
Like it quite a bit as well as the new season but it is geared toward competition (more invades etc) so I'm sure the PvE only player base will not appreciate it.
-
With the right team it’s pretty entertaining. Communication is very key. I enjoy it a lot
