Please decrease the recoil of the Last Word on console
It's barely useable on console at the moment unless you're hipfiring (which I know is the gun's purpose) meanwhile on PC it slays both in and out of ads. The recoil just needs to be tuned down a little and then the gun's perfect.
Edit: apparently this cause has been noted by cozmo on reddit. I hope this post also helped influence the maybe impending recoil reduction and hopefully this change happens as soon as possible and makes TLW useful while ADSing on console. We'll see.

29 RepliesHey there. I'm someone that played with TLW for most of Destiny 1's relevant lifecycle. The gun required a certain level of reset with each shot to really reign it in. Most content creators are saying the same for this version as well. This gun will come into its own if you aren't holding down the trigger every time. Auto fire is really only for those CQ moments when someone is right in your face. Tap it rapidly, and you'll notice a big difference in performance. Recoil isn't what you want reduced on this gun by the way. Recoil is the pattern a gun travels in as you continue to fire it. The recoil on TLW is a vertical line, the best any gun can have. What you're getting as is stability, and since this is a full auto hand cannon, you're going to get a lot of vertical kick if you hold the trigger down. Give the gun a half second to reset after each shot, and you may notice it's easier to handle. Also, understand that this gun lives in a closer effective range than other popular HC's, so you may need to adjust your range of engagement to see this thing really work. Hope this helps 👍

If you pace your shot its perfect. I had problem because im use to faster weapon but TLW is made for hip fire not zoom in or face pace.

1 ReplyThey should buff hand cannons in general(except 180) on console. They need reduced recoil and no bloom. I find 140s to be the most consistent but 150s and 110s break your nose every time they fire. I used to be insane with the old fashioned or better devils but now I have trouble using both weapons. Kinda sad.

Meanwhile it feels terrible on console while ADS. In D1, you could aim down sights and not experience as much obnoxious recoil as we do on the D2 version. Do what you have to do Bungie. Just fix it. No one wants to only hip fire a gun in a high intensity game mode. You can’t just make everything great on PC and feel like garbage on console.

Ok, real solution time: -Increase recoil on PC -Do nothing for consoles TLW was my very first exotic weapon in D1, and it was too easy to use. I would prefer it stays the way it is, and promote a different kind of play style. If you have to ADS (or rather, can't break the habit) you're relying on aim assist too much. Simply put (and this is how you trigger people): git gud lmao

i dissagree the gun would be devastating if it was easly pared with a shotgun hunter meta. in my opinion it has a place in the meta. its a shotgun counter not a hand cannon counter

This is not the right decision, you should be enjoying the crucible not being 100% tlw while you have it, after trying to do some quests over the last 2 days I've just deemed crucible unplayable because of it. Rumble is pretty much only tlw and grenade launchers and while there is some more variety in quickplay it's not much, I'm really hoping it's nerfed by the time crimson days comes around.

The other issue is that it seems so good on PC that inevitably there will be dozens of "Nerf TLW" posts from PC players. Then the gun will be even worse on console. I've only played 2 games with it so far, but I did pretty well in the second one (even though I'm trying to relearn how to snipe - it's been a while) so I think the gun is okay (certainly could be a bit better). I'm more worried it's too good on PC that it will truly become unusable on console after they nerf it.
