The best handcannon in the game belong to this archetype.
Despite being four taps they still kill faster due to their rate of fire.
They are very accurate and reliable, notably less RNG bullets than other HCs.
Some come with fairly long range and most PvP maps don't have ranges so long these guns would be at a disadvantage.
I like slow firing hand cannons but I feel like I'm a liability using them, and don't even bother attempting to put up a fight if I enter a duel with a Luna's Howl (assuming I noticed the Luna before it kills me).
So yeah, HCs are basically just 180s now.

6 RepliesI’m assuming you’re on console, because on pc ace of spades reigns. Occasionally not forgotten and ace, but if you don’t 3 Crit with Not forgotten you’re at a disadvantage, because ace is so forgiving.
-
4 Replies1. 180s do not kill faster than other types their ttk is 1 second. 2. You can not peek shoot with a 180 because it shoots too fast 3. 180s are trash in Pve.
-
180s flinch me a bit too much and I have maimed ace of spades since d1 and I still use have unflinching hand cannon aim and targeting. Yet I am still flinched to hell.
-
They made the 180 too poweful so the other ones are useless compared to it

1 ReplyAdaptive and Lightweight HCs actually have a faster TTK than Precision HCs (0.80/0.87 to 1.00.) Problem is Adaptive HCs need two headshots and a body to kill and Lightweight HCs only kill in three shots if every shot is a headshot. Precision frame HCs can kill in two headshots and two bodyshots, and considering how easy they are to control and their perfect in-air accuracy, this makes achieving optimal TTK really easy with Precision HCs. And this is before we take Luna's Howl/Not Forgotten into the equation. Magnificent Howl reduces the number of shots required from four to three (and even two in the perfect circumstances). So now not only do you have a HC that's easier to use than all other HC archetypes, you also have a HC with a faster TTK than all other archetypes. The only way to beat out a Luna's/NF with a regular HC in a straight up 1v1 is to combine it with a supporting weapon (like Fighting Lion) or ability, or to have a perk active that increases your damage (so basically Rampage, Kill Clip, and Memento Mori.) Problem is, you're not going to have any of these perks active in 90% of your engagements (unless you're using Ace of Spades) Unless you're smart with your engagement approaches, you're dead before you can get off your third shot. Not to say it's completely outplayable, but these reasons are why Not Forgotten is arguably the strongest primary weapon in the game right now.

8 RepliesIn crucible? Absolutely not. Even trying to use anything but 180rpm is laughable.
-
I think they should merge 140 and 150 hand cannons and rework. Right now 140s suck without a good roll.
-
Non precision handcannons are simply inaccurate and inconsistent on console. Probably always gonna be that way
-
True bro. I may just be aim handicapped but anything other than a 180 I struggle with. Again, could just be me. I’d like to use the AoS in PvP but I can’t get my shots to be consistent. Feel your pain here!!

2 RepliesAce of Spades - 150RPM: Hands down the best non-pinnacle PVP hand cannon and VERY viable in PVE. Wardens Law - 110RPM: With the right roll (or curated) this thing devistates. Feeding Frenzy and Rampage combo work phenomenally. Nation of Beasts - 150RPM: Again with the right roll (or curated) this is a really good HC. Obviously Luna's Howl and Not Forgotten are going to be Crucible go tos. They're the competitive pinnacle weapons for a reason. However to say 180's dominate the meta because of two HC's that are hard to get is kinda short-sighted. You may just need to work more on your aim with <180 HC's (This is genuine advice and not being a smart-ass). Aim for headshots and learn your effective range boundaries. Also, engagement is key. If you LR a pulse or scout you'll likely get shafted. Same goes for CRing an auto-rifle or a fast firing HC. 150 and 110 HC's work best at mid range and close range against long range weapons.

4 Replies180 RPM doesn't have the best time to kill among hand cannons. 60/180*3 = 1 seconds time to kill 60/150*2 = 0,8 seconds time to kill 60/140*2 = 0,86 seconds time to kill 150 RPM is quickest and closely followed by 140 RPM. 140 and 150 RPM's are way more inconsistent and it feels like the bloom is worse on them though, so they're generally harder to use effectively.
-
110s do some work if you roam with other guardians and shoot what theyre shooting but at the same time you coukd just use a bow and have the same effect
-
I actually like quite a few hand cannons...duke, nation of beasts, all the exotic ones, I even have a waking vigil and thin line I really like...guess I'm just a hand cannon guy
-
1 ReplyLunas Howl is the worst that happened to pvp since the vanilla D2 ttk.
-
1 ReplyAce of spades, Sturm and duke mk44 are absolute power houses in the crucible they’re up there in the ranks with Luna’s howl. However that’s still a problem because that means every other legendary 140 rpm handcannon isn’t that good. The thing with ace of spades and 140s in general is that they have to much recoil(on console)
-
1 ReplyThe more range a hand cannon has the less drop off but more ghost bullets can’t find their targets.
-
5 RepliesUse a bow and a Duke Mk.44 you’ll thank me later.
-
Apparently you've never heard of our lord and savior, Midnight Coup.
-
Edited by Cry2God4Revenge: 11/28/2018 2:41:43 PMThey skill slower, at 1.05 seconds Range damage drop-ofd starts at 16 meters, same OHK range of chaperone git gud
-
More specifically Trust. This thing is the easiest handcannon to use.
-
ACe of Spades, Duke mk.44 put up great battles
-
8 RepliesDuke 44 with rampage/kill clip and rangefinder/outlaw make EVERYONE run for cover. It hits like a truck and will two tap anyone under 8 resilience with rampage/kill clip active. Honestly. I have one with opening shot and rampage with a backup mag, it’s absolutely my favorite hand cannon. I’ll pair it with Luna’s if I want to be a dick, but, it’s a beast in pve too. Try it. Your first crit to any player surprises the shit out of them. Just pace your shots and you can outrange Luna all day long.
-
Bungie loves HCs. This whole game is built around Bungo's obsession with them.
-
I'll say this: With how their TtKs are balanced, there's literally no point to running any 140 besides Ace over a 150. Plus, 150s also give you boosted movement speed. No reason at all to run a 140, ever.
-
2 RepliesPair one with a fighting lion. If ur good enough to hit headshots consistently then u should be able to tag them with the fl then quick swap and one tap them faster than the Luna can 3 tap u. Dexterity perks, lucky pants, targeting adjuster, etc help alot and so does my moving target/opening shot Duke.
