Bungie needs to do something about skating. [PC]
Titan skating is unbalanced and no one is disputing that.. so why isn't catapult lift disabled in comp?
Come on bungie you guys are better than this.
Edit: Some reasons I believe Titan Skating is unbalanced in a competitive game mode.
-The speed at which you can secure an area
compared to every other class.
-Combined with One eyed mask which is
also unbalanced makes it even more over the top
-Shotguns are very meta and being able to
close distances as fast as titans can make
them very unfun to play against.
-Titans have a 1shot melee, being the fastest
class(by a huge margin) in the game ontop of
that make them one of the most oppresive classes
in the game.
I don't mind people skating in quickplay, that mode is there for casuals
and people trying to blow off some steam in a quick match that means
nothing but inside of a competitive gamemode where everyone is expected to
try their best, if you don't have atleast 1 skating titan you're team is
already at a disadvantage.
Edit 2: This is a PC issue only, I don't have any experience with consoles or destiny 1 so I don't have an opinion for them.

Who the actual -blam!- cares? This game is [b]NOT[/b] competitive whatsoever. Lack of actual rank brackets, dedicated servers, low tick rate, and many 1 shot weapons/abilities. I’ve been playing titan since d1 (TTK) so skating has always been a thing for me.

They should just make it a supported feature, all classes get their version of it. More than that though if you hit a wall you die.

6 RepliesWhy not just give Warlocks and Hunters a means of getting to an area just as quickly? Movement and positioning is exceptionally important in this game, so you could either reduce the Titan skating somehow OR you could give more rush/evasive options for Warlocks and Hunters maybe? I could see Hunters getting more maneuverability while giving Warlocks more staying power, so the Titan can rush after the Hunter, but the Hunter can juke the Titan. The Titan can rush the Warlock, but the Warlock can hold their ground. What do you think about that maybe?

1 ReplyMacros have been around online gaming for over 20 years. Developers know exactly how they can be coded out, and so the fact that titan skating is possible means that Bungie knows it, allows it, and did not intend to stop it. It's really that simple. Macro use can 100% be detected by the game coding, so not only does Bungie know it exists, but they can tell when it is occurring.
